We had a new unit installed by Precision a few years ago. This year the blower went out awe called for service. Since it was still under warranty we called Precision out even though I had just started working for a construction AC contractor. Precision came out and replaced a small part, charged us $200 for the labor (which invloved unscrewing a part and screwing it back in) and sold my husband a PM plan. The unit still was not working that night so my husband called them back out the next day. The tech told us the blower was out and it would be $1000 in labor to replace it but the part itself was still under warranty. He told us we were still saving a lot because the part cost over $1000. Since I was now working for an AC company I asked him if we could use the company I work for and still get the part under warranty. He told me that it had to be done with them for the warranty to be good. I went into work the next day and told our owner about the problem. He told me that the warranty is issued by the manufacturer and as long as a licensed tech did the work, it could be done by any company and the warranty would be honored. Then he told me it was only a $300 part anyway and that we charge less than $500 in labor to put in a commercial blower so there should be no way a residential job would take over $1,000 in labor to complete. This company is not honest and will lie to you and cheat you when you are in need. I truly wonder how much they took us for on the install. A few weeks later we saw a commercial on TV for Precision and the tech that tried to cheat and over charge us was in it so if the tech you get looks familiar, do not trust him.

I called them because I was having issues with my Ecobee shutting on and off. After consulting with Ecobee, we determined that it was an HVAC issue and not a software or thermostat issue. Peter came out, took my Ecobee off the wall, put three wires together, wrapped them up, kicked the system back on and said, your system is fine, your thermostat is the problem. Since they do not carry thermostats based on price tiers in their trucks, they only carry the extremely expensive ones, I was told I could replace the thermostat myself and it would be fine. So, I went and bought a new one, installed it, kicked the system on, and then bam, system shuts down again. After calling Peter back and telling him the same issue is occurring with a new thermostat, he stated he would come back and take a look. After troubleshooting a few things, he finally determined that i had clogged lines backing up the water in the hose. He popped the hose off from where it connects to the second floor sink and man, it was clogged. Nothing was getting through it. So basically, thermostat was okay the entire time, just an oversight by the Peter on not checking the drain lines. At the end of the day, Peter was very kind and hospitable and I signed up for a Preventative Maintenance program so things like this won't happen again. I recommend.

I talked to a dispatcher who had a technician call me. He said he would see me between 8 and 9pm. Three days later I have never heard from him again, never saw him, no one ever returned my call.

So think before you just take the "good" reviews at face value about how many stars this company might have bought...

Horrible business practices... I tried installing a smart thermostat myself but didn't feel comfortable trying to pull the 24v constant power it needed. They knew exactly what the issue was and quoted me $75 for a standard thermostat install NOT A DIAGNOSTIC FEE WAIVED WITH REPAIRS. The technician they sent out spent roughly an hour at my house basically staring at my HVAC unit and said it couldn't be done. Ecobee insisted that it could be done so I asked if Precision could send someone else out that knew more about smart thermostats. The tech tried to get me to pay and leave WITHOUT REWIRING MY OLD SYSTEM saying they would come out later in the week and that I would be charged twice since two techs had to come out. I refused to pay and insisted they send out another tech that day since we had no AC and it was in the 100's outside. No one communicated anything to me about a different rate for "minor repair". The second tech came later that day and was able to fix it in 30 minutes. He said it was the hottest house he had ever been in. When he requested payment it was $150. It was obvious to me at the time what the first tech said about having to pay for both techs to come out was correct. I had spent the entire day in a house at 100 degrees and figured $75 wasn't worth arguing over so I paid the man. No one tried to refund me after the fact like it states below.

All I wanted to do was get my experience out there and I have to deal with another bad experience by having a comment posted on my review that is a complete lie. I will definitely not be using this company again.

We decided to replace our HVAC system and attic duct and insulation. After using several AC companies in the past which rated good but their performance was poor, we researched which companies to replace our system. We chose Precision because they are Austin based and family owned. My husband contacted them and quickly got a complete system and attic insulation assessment and quote. We accepted and I can say no contractor has been as Professional, Courteous, Timely and Expert as Precision. Sergio is simply an AC Master and he completely reorganized the attic location for the new system. His expertise to get it right has never been matched by any contractor we have ever worked with. The whole Precision team; Troy the project manager, Sergio and Alex were all exceptional. Totally recommend you use Precision Heating and Air and avoid all the other companies we have probably already wasted money on

I am so happy with the immediate service I received from Precision. Roy N. came out to my home to fix my furnace that was no longer blowing hot air. The furnace ended up needing a replacement piece that needed to be ordered. In less than 36 hours, the furnace was fixed. Not to mention, Roy is really great, explains the whole issue and process and is even great with dogs! I will definitely request him for service in the future.

Precision did the AC system for my new house. I was the contractor so I dealt directly with them the whole time. They were the most professional subcontractor I used. Always on time, friendly etc. After I finished the house and moved in, I noticed a problem and they took care of it right away. My experience is that there are always issues but business that take care of them quickly, hassle free and with a good attitude are exceptional. EJ (sp?) deserves a shout out. He's been on top of things, going out of his way to give the best possible solution. Above and beyond really. Plus, friendly and a pleasure to be around the whole time. Great people should be rewarded and I think he is a stand out.
