Michael Phillips is a Fifth generation plumbing expert. Michael has been active with his relatives in the plumbing and construction sectors in Florida since childhood. Michael actually and routinely went on service calls with his father starting at age four years old. Michael's direct relatives includes over 16 or more plumbers & 9+ plumbing/general contractors in the Central & South Florida areas dating back to the late 1800s. The Phillips lineage has been involved in plumbing, construction & construction materials that have played a role in creating what we now refer to as Miami Beach commonly called ""South Beach"", North Miami, North Miami Beach, as well as many other locations such as greater Dade County, Broward County, Palm Beach County and Polk County regions.

Michael's great great grandfather William S. ""Snooky"" Phillips started ""Miami Plumbing & Heating"" in 1899 in Miami, Florida. William's father was involved in construction & primitive plumbing systems in the mid to late 19th century. Despite limited information about him than that, family tradition says he was involved in construction and plumbing, employed by railroad tycoon Henry Flagler. He was said to be one of the initial plumbing contractors in Florida to be granted a plumbing contractor's license by Dade County, thanks to his parent's supposed affiliation with Henry Flagler & the fact that at that time there were few regulation or plumbing code at any level of government were in place. Back then the contractor's licensing took place at the county level and not at the state level like it is now. For the Phillips family, the term ""Grandfathered"" has a true implication.
