Michael Phillips stands as a Fifth-generation plumbing contractor. Michael has been active with his family in the plumbing and construction sectors in Florida from a young age. He literally regularly went on service calls with his dad starting at age four. His immediate family tree boasts more than 16+ plumbers & 9+ plumbing/general contractors in the Central & South Florida areas dating back to the late 19th century. The Phillips lineage has participated in plumbing, construction & construction materials that have gone into creating what we now call Miami Beach aka ""South Beach"", North Miami, North Miami Beach, including many other places such as greater Dade County, Broward County, Palm Beach County and Polk County areas.

His ancestor William S. ""Snooky"" Phillips started ""Miami Plumbing & Heating Co."" in 1899 in Miami, Florida. His father was involved in construction & initial plumbing systems in the mid to late 19th century. Despite limited information about him aside from that, family tradition claims he was involved in construction and plumbing, employed by railroad tycoon Henry Flagler. He is considered one of the pioneering plumbing contractors in Florida to be granted a plumbing contractor's license by Dade County, because of his ancestor's reported affiliation with Henry Flagler & the fact that at that time there were few regulation or plumbing code at any level of government existed. In those days the contractor's licensing occurred at the county level and not at the state level like it is now. For Michael's family, the term ""Grandfathered"" has a real significance.
