Jacqui M.Called for a repair to my leaking bathtub faucet. They were quick to come out, so that was nice. Charged a $50.00 service fee for the visit, typical. The plumber took one look (eyes, no tools) and decided it was a failing ""shower cartridge"". The replacement would cost 450.00 + 50.00 for the part.
Now, I'm not a plumber so I trust the ""experts"" not to swindle me and when the quote is this high I assumed it was a job that was very invasive and would take several hours. 15 minutes after turning off the water, he was finished and left. Yes, 15 minutes. In conclusion, unless you're prepared to spend $800.00+/hr on plumbing services (not including parts) I'd try elsewhere.
Allan H.We had an issue with a our humidifier back in October and called Plumbline to fix the issue. While looking at the humidifier, the technician also inspected the furnace and found a crack in the heat exchanger. The tech told us the furnace needed to be replaced. We called the insurance company to file a claim which was eventually denied. We contacted another highly rated company to get a second opinion to appeal the insurance company claim. This second company said they did not find a crack in the heat exchanger. A few days later, the furnace stopped functioning and we smelled gas. This time, the insurance company sent out their tech and replaced the igniter. Furnace working again. I asked this third tech (30 years experience) to look for a crack in the heat exchanger and he also did not find one. Needless to say we were furious that two techs did not find a crack. We called Plumbline again to report what we learned. The President, Bob Logan and his Chief Tech came to our place and showed us within 5 minutes where the crack was that the other two techs missed! We were embarrassed but feel we finally got to the bottom of the issue. It is clear that they are well trained and trying to do the right thing. Thank you to Plumbline for being an ethical and quality HVAC company.
I requested quotes from 4 local companies for a furnace replacement in a small house. Plumblines quote for the bottom of the line furnace would be approx $7500.00. The price was absurdly high, between $2500-$3200 more that the other 3 companies.
I do not recommend this company when looking for ""value"" as they were extremely overpriced! Perhaps their advertising costs are being passed down to their customers?
Irene G.My electrician Eric was very professional and went out of his way to save me money. Installed an ele trical panel in my basement and i couldn't be more happier with the work.
I finally feel like I found a plumber I can trust! I've had three plumbers to my place in the last 18mos to fix inept plumbing from a bathroom install. Steve and the whole plumbline team were efficient, professional and got the job done when no one else could. If you have a big project, go with a team who insured their work and has some credibility.
Shelley A.The issue: Plumbline installed a Honeywell whole house humidifier in my home in Dec 2018 and the humidifier no longer works. Called for service, which was scheduled about 2 weeks out.
The good: The technician called prior to arriving, was within the service window, was polite and friendly, wore shoe booties, and a mask.
The bad: The technician almost immediately diagnosed a bad solenoid on the humidifier. As an electrician, this makes me happy because I know how easy they are to change and that they are generally inexpensive. However, the technician quotes me a repair cost in excess of $500. A quick Google search confirms the part can be purchased from anywhere between $18 and $25 and the remove and replace can be done in literally 5 minutes. The technician explained they have overhead costs, etc. and gives me a painting hack (I was in the process of painting my house).
Bottom line: Plumbline was going to charge me $500 for a $20 part and a few minutes of work, to repair a nice to have, but non-essential, component of my HVAC system. They're obviously too busy, and willing to massively overcharge unsuspecting customers for non-emergency work, just in case somebody has the financial resources and lack of knowledge about the simplicity of the repair.
Put me in the former customer column.
A nightmare. They said I was to blame because I was ""hostile"". The plumber was not paying attention when he misthreaded the water line. Company offered me less than 10% of cost to repair. I rejected their offer immediately and called my insurance company. It took my insurance company a year to get reimbursed.
Isaac H.Fantastic, professional, and reasonable!
Have been using for more than 10 years and will continue!
I'm somewhat baffled by all the 1-star reviews.
Plumbline exemplifies a company that is focused on their customers. All the times we've needed them, they've been honest and transparent, never trying to sell-up, and always transparent. I've also hired them to come fix a problem that another HVAC company caused.
Should have read the reviews. Tricked into paying for a $440 ""diagnostic "" service, when the electrician ended up after 15 minutes telling me the power company had to fix, and the Excel people came and fixed for free. The service guy actually came off $100 because he felt a bit sorry for me. Maybe he has a conscience. The office people we called were nice, but no one called us back with the authority to either say we'll cut your bill some more.....or tell us to take it like a man. I'm sorta taking it like a man, but leaving a bad review. If Plumbline calls I may update this review, but I'm not counting on it.
Left a message with their service on Sunday asking for a call back on Monday. Called on Monday about 10 am asking for a call back to let me know one way or another if they could help me. Booked an appt on line for Tue, because I still had hope. When I still didn't get a call by 5:00pm on Monday, I called and cancelled. If they can't return either of TWO phone calls within 24 hours, they're not very interested in being of service. Even tho they had no interest in treating a customer well, I had the courtesy to call them and cancel. The clerk that answered the phone didn't seem like she thought no return phone call was an issue. I'd never try them again. Sorry I was fooled by their advertising
