On June 1, 1973, Gladston Mealor and his son, Sidney Mealor, founded Plumbing Distributors, Inc at 166 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville. The company began with a team of four, including Glad and Sid, providing counter sales and delivery services.

On February 13, 1976, PDI became an authorized distributor for American Standard. This collaboration marked a turning point for PDI. This line helped us demonstrate our strength in the plumbing industry. This success led to securing additional major plumbing brands like A.O. Smith water heaters and later Aqua Glass bath fixtures.

As PDI continued to grow, we recognized the need for a larger space. We wanted to stay connected to our roots in Lawrenceville. A site was acquired in an undeveloped industrial park off Collins Hill Road, providing easy access to Georgia Highway 316. Between 1984 and 2006, our Corporate Headquarters were located at 20 Collins Hill Road, but we had to relocate again to support our expansion.
