Plumbing Distributors, Inc was established on June 1, 1973, by Gladston Mealor and his son, Sidney, at 166 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville. The small business started with four employees, including Glad and Sid, focusing on counter sales and delivery.

PDI secured its status as a distributor for American Standard on February 13, 1976. This was a major milestone for PDI. This line helped us demonstrate our strength in the plumbing industry. As a result, we were able to bring in other significant plumbing lines such as A.O. Smith water heaters and Aqua Glass bath fixtures.

With PDI's growth, the need for a bigger facility became apparent. The company aimed to remain close to its origins in the Lawrenceville area. A site was acquired in an undeveloped industrial park off Collins Hill Road, providing easy access to Georgia Highway 316. Between 1984 and 2006, our Corporate Headquarters were located at 20 Collins Hill Road, but we had to relocate again to support our expansion.
