Plumbing Distributors, Inc was established on June 1, 1973, by Gladston Mealor and his son, Sidney, at 166 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville. The company began with a team of four, including Glad and Sid, providing counter sales and delivery services.

On February 13, 1976, PDI became an authorized distributor for American Standard. This partnership significantly enhanced PDI's reputation. This line helped us demonstrate our strength in the plumbing industry. As a result, we were able to bring in other significant plumbing lines such as A.O. Smith water heaters and Aqua Glass bath fixtures.

As PDI expanded, it became clear that a larger facility was necessary. The company aimed to remain close to its origins in the Lawrenceville area. A site was acquired in an undeveloped industrial park off Collins Hill Road, providing easy access to Georgia Highway 316. Our Corporate Headquarters were based at 20 Collins Hill Road from 1984 to 2006, but we needed to move again to facilitate further growth.
