Plumbing & Cooling Nerds represents the third phase of the plumbing and air conditioning business founded by John Verhoff after relocating to Southwest Florida in 2007. Initially, he focused on new construction projects. However, after navigating the 2008-2009 recession, he recognized that working for contractors limited his control over business operations. In 2012, Verhoff shifted his focus to home services, first teaming up with a friend on a business that operated in Florida and two additional states. After buying out his friend's stake in the Florida segment of the business in 2016, he needed a fresh name and identity. That's when Plumbing & Cooling Nerds came to life. Plumbing & Cooling Nerds takes pride in providing “smarter home solutions” delivered with “nerd-like enthusiasm.”
Greetings, I'm John Verhoff, the founder and ""Head Nerd"" at Plumbing & Cooling Nerds. Since high school, I have been enthusiastic about home services, and I am committed to offering the highest quality service to my clients. In 2007, when I started Plumbing Nerds, I saw a gap for a more client-centered plumbing approach. Our goal is to ""change the way the world views skilled trades,"" which entails delivering contemporary, tech-savvy solutions for routine plumbing challenges. We also inform homeowners about their plumbing and air conditioning systems and present options that best fit their requirements. Thank you for thinking of Plumbing & Cooling Nerds for your home service solutions. I look forward to changing how you view trade professionals.

I needed my tankless hot water heater replaced did not have to run any wires or pipes just replace the one I had. When the guys showed up he started getting all cocky about how this wasn't the right unit I said it's been in here for 14 years I just want it replaced. He told me $4000 and if I want the right one it's $5000. I bought the same unit off Amazon for $275 took me 30 minutes to replace biggest rip off company I have ever seen will never ever allow them near my house buyers beware. They thought I was desperate and they were trying to take advantage of me.

Plumbing Nerds, were very professional, prompt and extremely expensive. They are by far the most expensive plumbers I have ever heard of, but they did get the work done when promised. It really was a simple job, but the invoice was not simple. So, good work, poor prices.

We have paid them several thousand dollars since Hurricane Ian rebuild, they had to come back several times for leaks on the work they did. The last thing they did for us was put in a new faucet in our Master Bathroom. They had to come back because it was leaking twice. They told me to order new ceramic inserts from Delta that if I called the 800 number they will replace. I did that and when they came to replace the insert which has leaked from the start they charged me another $204.00 which they did not tell me they were going to do until they got here. It is certainly now the most expensive faucet I have ever owned. We will not use them again. Another case of overcharging after Hurricane Ian OR their prices as just way to high. One more strike against Florida companies. Lots of very poor service at companies but very HIGH prices and we did not move from a cheap state. I used them because they would at least come sometime on the day they said they would.

Looks like other folks have had good dealings with this company. I am not one of them. They came, on time, to look at my faulty under sink water filtration system. He took one look at it, said he """"wasn't familiar with the company"""", and proceeded to try and sell me a $4000 complete house water filtration system. Egads! He spent at least 20 minutes giving me the hard sell, including going out to his truck to get the brochure. But what really got me to do this review, is that he left without so much as trying to find what was wrong with my current system. Zero effort on his part. So lame. Obviously, he was way more interested in making the big sale. At the very least, take a friggin' look at the tank. It's why you came in the first place! In my eyes, this company is a sham, and they certainly will not get my business. Including their fancy schmancy $4000 filtration system!

Took a chance on an Angie's List special to replace an outside hose bib. From the list of possible contractors, I picked Plumbing Nerds. Every glad I did. Abel the tech was on time and very knowledgeable. The ad came with a free home plumbing inspection. Abel was very thorough and check facets, water heater and water pressure coming into the house. I would not hesitate to call Plumbing Nerds again for any plumbing situation

Highly recommend. Called in the morning for clog in the mainline and tech came out before lunch. Fixed the problem within 15 min. Helped understand what was the issue and prevention recommendations. Great experience.

Home Depot came out to install a dishwasher and the serviceman said he could not install it because of a leaky valve under the sink. The only time it leaked was when he pressed on it. He said we needed a plumber so we called The Eco Plumbers. Bobby came out and looked under the sink today very thoroughly and there was no leak. My husband looked at it a few days ago and may have tightened the valve. Not sure. But we do know that we appreciated Bobby's honesty and there was no charge. We will definitely call Eco Plumbers again.

I simply cannot say enough positive things about Eco Plumbing! We had them out to check on our water heater (which turned out was NOT the source of a small water problem), upon realizing the water heater was fine he declined to charge us anything! They have been our """"go to"""" plumbing company for a while now and WILL CONTNUE TO BE OUR PLUMBING COMPANY. They are precise, prompt and reliable. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I called a week ahead for annual service and we agreed """"after 11AM"""" which turned into 7 PM. I got repeated messages about it being a busy day and they got tied up but an 8 hour wait without offering to reschedule? The Technician immediately suggested my water heater, that has been working perfectly, was old and should be replaced for $4200! I don't know if gaslighting a woman who is already convinced about firing this company was his best decision. He was adamant even after I told him I'd had to replace my very large capacity water heater at my summer home 2 days prior ( for $2500, emergency basis). This is not how I want to be treated and every serviceman I've met from this company in the last 4 years has wanted to leave with big bucks. It's never a simple maintenance call, more an opportunity to increase their profit margin. I'm done with them.

Missed diagnosed the problem and tried to sell me $6,500 of stuff I don't need. Called another plumber. Everything fixed for $298. Clearly, these guys are commission based. Be careful.
