Plumbing & Cooling Nerds is the evolution of the plumbing and air conditioning firm established by John Verhoff after his move to Southwest Florida in 2007. At first, he concentrated on new construction jobs. Yet, following the 2008-2009 recession, he realized that contractor work restricted his business autonomy. In 2012, Verhoff shifted his focus to home services, first teaming up with a friend on a business that operated in Florida and two additional states. When he acquired his friend's share of the Florida operations in 2016, he sought a new name and identity. This is when Plumbing & Cooling Nerds was established. Plumbing & Cooling Nerds is proud to offer “smarter home solutions” presented with “nerd-like enthusiasm.”

Hi, I'm John Verhoff, the creator and ""Head Nerd"" of Plumbing & Cooling Nerds. My passion for home services began in high school, and I strive to provide the best service to my clients. When I founded Plumbing Nerds in 2007, I recognized the need for a more customer-oriented plumbing service. Our mission is to ""change the way the world views skilled trades,"" which involves providing modern, tech-savvy solutions for everyday plumbing issues. We provide homeowners with insights into their plumbing and air conditioning systems and suggest options that suit their preferences. Thank you for thinking of Plumbing & Cooling Nerds for your home service solutions. I look forward to changing how you view trade professionals.

Knowledgeable, friendly and prompt - solved my issue even on a Sunday. I'm not from the area so needed to find someone quickly and hope they were trustworthy - plumbing nerds fit the bill. Very happy with my service and will use again.

Plumbing Nerds did an excellent job. When they realized that work that was originally quoted was not needed they brought it to my attention and removed those items from the bill. This is the third time that I have used them and I will continue to do so in the future.

Communication was excellent, tech was professional and polite. Unfortunately the estimate I received was absolutely rediculous. It was 4 to 5 times the going rate for a licensed professional plumber. And of course than we have the up sell, water softener etc. Less than an hour job $884......$168 to replace 2 washer hoses, first they are new. Second they are $19 at home depot? $343.00 to replace a couple feet of copper due to pin hole and corrosion using a shark bite $9 , two hoses $19, and two shut offs ....$21...replacement $372....? So maybe $55.00 worth of matetials... when did plumbers start making $829 an hour or even $414.50 an hour. Do yourself a favor call a real plumber not an overpriced gimmicky company like the nerds.

Absolutely outstanding service. I was a nervous wreck before Patrick came to my home. Not only was my toilet full of roots, but I had a suspicion that my homes extension was built over my septic tank. Not only did I get a 'same day' appointment, but Patrick also Arrive 10 minutes early and preemptively located the septic tank. He also offered to service my 'roots' problem immediately. He was extremely personable, and as an introvert, I found him very easy to talk to. Seriously, just hire these people.

While out of town, my wife called me saying the there was water under the kitchen sink. Troy from PN responded saying the kitchen faucet in our 3 year old house was leaking. They replaced it with a better quality fixture for approx $900. I AND my wife asked him to leave the old faucet and the box for the new faucet as reference for future parts...he did neither. Spoke with location manager Jim who patiently listened to me and we were able to come to an accommodation on the price. Fast forward six or seven days, my wife again finds water under the sink. JJ responded, and after careful examination, found the clamp that connects the drain to the disposer was missing 2 of 3 screws and loose. He further found the original builders plumber had """"cheated"""" the drain to trap by using too short pipe. JJ fixed the problems and carefully tested everything. No additional charge. While I think the original bill and diagnosis was wrong, I am pleased with the response of management and ultimate solution to the problem. I'd give the original plumber a 1* and JJ a 7* rating, hence the 4*.

Excellent customer service from the time I called to the plumber that came out. Javier was great... polite, friendly, on time and knowledgeable. However, we did think the price was high to change out a cartridge in the shower and replace a toilet $971.32.

From the beginning J.J. made us feel comfortable. He listened to our vision and was excited to help us bring it to reality. A few times a long the way we had concerns about the technical things in our master bath remodel. J.J. explained how it would work and calmed our nerves producing incredible results. We gained a bathroom that far exceeds our expectations and we also gained a friend. J.J. is down to earth and easy to work with. We also worked with Kelly and Brittany in the office. They were excellent as well. Always answered our questions. And provided excellent customer service. What a great experience. We got 5 quotes and talked to numerous people and we definitely chose the right company.

50 gallon Bradford white water heater that is 3 years old and under warranty. This company wanted 2100$ to replace and install a new one. This is completely out of line with standard and customary hot water heater install fees. They knew I was a vacation homeowner and thought they had a sucker. Well no thank you. Beware and do your homework before using these crooks.

My son moved into a new house and the line for water/ice to fridge didn't work. People who came with new fridge said it was clogged. Phoned a few plumbers who stated floor would need to be ripped up etc., which would be costly. Plumbing Nerds showed up the day I called. Stated a much cheaper solution would be to install an """"ice box"""" behind the fridge. Then run a line through the attic. My son went with Plumbing nerds because they explained to him everything with the installation. The cost was much more palatable then others who wanted to rip up floor. They didn't have the device needed but came back the very next day. Process was quick, efficient and no mess after work was completed. They even wore little booties over their shoes to protect floors. They were also very polite. I would recommend this company and I know they will be first called when either my son or I need a plumber.
