By all means engage with this company if you enjoy being told to your face that you're inconveniencing them by very briefly describing the plumbing issue, or if you like hearing other insolent attitude via phone including that you ""need to get more on board"" with their preferences, or if you want to hear them tell you ""how this is gonna work,"" or if you want to hear someone whine and moan that you ""should have moved the garbage can before they got there"" because it ""annoys"" them to have to roll it to the side. You'll be better off with virtually anyone else, even including an amateur handiman, because the key to a job done the way you'd like it is communication, and this guy is inept at it. Amazing how something like plumbing, which at best requires the minimal intellect this guy exhibits, can give someone such an inflated ego and habit of insulting his potential customers. If you have a Home Warranty plan, you can ask them to assign someone else; I did, after one brief conversation with this guy, and it was like night and day. I honestly believe this company would refuse to make shoddy work right, too, given their habit of self entitlement and insolence. I only wish there was a zero-star or minus-one-star rating I could select. Life is too short to deal with this grade of outfit...and other companies are often cheaper besides!

After Cal Home Plumbing failed to show up, my insurance company sent over Ruben from Platinum Plumbing to take a look at a problem I was having with my water heater. Ruben's not the most cheerful man at 8am, but he showed up on time (10 minutes early, in fact), quickly ran a few tests and found the solution, which turned out to be pressing a simple reset button (!). I still had to pay the $65 service fee, but that's fine. It would have been nice if my insurance company told me I could have fixed it myself, though!

My home warranty company assigned Platinum Plumbing to resolve an issue with my water heater. Ruben from Platinum called me promptly to schedule an appointment, and then showed up exactly on time (five minutes early, actually) to diagnose the issue. Our water heater was old and had a massive leak requiring a full replacement, and it all led to us being out of hot water for several days in mid winter. Yikes! Ruben was really helpful in making sure we got our new water heater ASAP and everything was fixed/replaced/resolved within 48 hours. Very pleased with the service and to have hot water again quickly.

My home warranty company assigned him to me, so I looked him up on Yelp. I was very apprehensive after reading the negative reviews. As far as I'm concerned, it was all bull. He called me promptly to schedule an appointment. He gave me a 2 hour window and he arrived well within that window. He went right to fixing the problem and gave me further advice for maintaining it. He was very professional. I'd recommend him to friends.

I had some bathroom fixtures broken and Platinum Plumbing was the assigned plumber by my home warranty.
Ruben turns up on Oct 25th at my door (Saturday 9:30) without an appointment. I told him that no one scheduled an appointment with me and that i was expecting a phone call for the same, not have him turn up! I told him this was not a good time.
He does not bother calling me back. I call him a few days later and schedule an appointment with him. He turns up on time and he says he needs to pick up the replacement fixtures from the store.
He made me pay him full price, and i do so expecting that he will come back the same day and finish the service.
I call him later that evening to find out when he would be coming to finish the job and to schedule an appointment. He was very rude and unprofessional while speaking to me. He kept changing his story about when he could come by and finish the job.
First he said he said he would buy the parts today and call me on Saturday to schedule the appointment. Then he said he will buy the parts by the weekend and then call me to schedule the appointment. Third he said he has no guarantee on the service delivery timeline, that i will just have to wait and see.
And i have already paid him the full price!
Ruben is very unprofessional, cannot provide services in a timely manner, and is very disrespectful and confrontational. He will not hesitate to pick a fight with you.
My home warranty refunded me my money the sane day.
I wish I could give a ZERO star!

I set up an appointment with these guys earlier today for 1-3pm, I called at 3pm and the guy who answered was rude, claimed I was in the fault for why they didn't show up, and hung up on me. When I called back he didn't answer. Similar terrible service to what everyone else here has mentioned. I've requested my home warranty service be reassigned to another plumber.

Ruben Smith owner of Platinum plumbing was sent out by our home warranty company for issues we were having with a hot watter heater and a hot water pipe. First it is very hard to get an appoitnment with this guy because the home warranty company keeps him so busy he can pick and choose which jobs he wants to go to . It took a while to get him out . When he finally came out he was rude because I had told the home warranty rep that Ruben had not followed up and had not been out. He asked me why I told the rep that and I said because it was true. I found this very unprofessional. It was clear from the start he was not interested in fixing the problems we were having. Ruben said he had only 45 minutes because he was booked the entire day. He acknowledged the waterheater issue and the pipe issue. He said the home warranty company was going through a lot of changes and he would not get paid for the repairs because they were pre-existing . I still had to pay the $75.00 for him coming out and walking around the house. After he left the next day I called the home warranty company and they informed me that Ruben had written in his report that there was no failure of the pipes or the water heater and the claim had been closed. We are left a water heater that does not work and malfunctioning pipes, which Ruben clearly heard and said they was a issue. He did not provide us with any written details and now we understand why. This plumber will take your money and his not honest . he did no work and did not fix anything. Rude, Dishonest, Condescending

There is currently (and still) a leak in on my water heater. Therefore, no hot water and water obviously leaking. I going through my home warranty to fix that. I called my home warranty, then called the assigned company (Platinum Plumbing&Sewer) at 9am to get an appointment. They took a while to schedule an appointment. It was not until 4pm that I had my appointment schedule for the next day 12pm.
The guy was rude and didn't want to provide any details about his diagnostic and what was his recommendations. He told me that he was going to report immediately to the home warranty company and I was going to hear back from the home warranty within a couple of days. Just a reminder here: **I HAVE A LEAK AND NO HOT WATER**.
The home warranty company didn't hear from them until the next day and told me that there was a pre-existing condition.
Platinum Plumbing & Sewer is really good at working out pre-existing conditions for home warranty companies like other reviews mentioned.
It turns out that their business is more in helping out home warranty companies rather than helping out people.

Reuben of Platinum is THE MOST responsive and empathetic service provider I met. I made it clear in an email to him (as a follow up to a late night online request for service to AHS Warranty) that my water heater problems were going to cause major hardship given my home situation (young kids, in the middle of a move in, etc..). He called me that night apologizing for the late call but said I sounded desperate, then made sure to follow up as promised the following day exactly on time, even calling me back when he was going to be 20 mins later than expected given he had to stop for gas. I was so impressed by his attitude. He told me exactly what the process was going to be (diagnosis then solution), what the impact to my work schedule would be, etc.. I will definitely recommend him for this type of service (appliance work). Please note that Home Warrantys do everything they can to reject fixing/replacing things. You have to know this going in and be prepared to battle. IMO, the plumber is often the messenger vs. the problem.

My insurance just resolved a flood claim on my house that happened because Platinum Plumbing didn't bothering fixing the length of a replacement tube. That caused over a thousand dollars in damage. Insurance resolved it but said it was plumber negligence.
