I set up an appointment with these guys earlier today for 1-3pm, I called at 3pm and the guy who answered was rude, claimed I was in the fault for why they didn't show up, and hung up on me. When I called back he didn't answer. Similar terrible service to what everyone else here has mentioned. I've requested my home warranty service be reassigned to another plumber.

Ruben Smith owner of Platinum plumbing was sent out by our home warranty company for issues we were having with a hot watter heater and a hot water pipe. First it is very hard to get an appoitnment with this guy because the home warranty company keeps him so busy he can pick and choose which jobs he wants to go to . It took a while to get him out . When he finally came out he was rude because I had told the home warranty rep that Ruben had not followed up and had not been out. He asked me why I told the rep that and I said because it was true. I found this very unprofessional. It was clear from the start he was not interested in fixing the problems we were having. Ruben said he had only 45 minutes because he was booked the entire day. He acknowledged the waterheater issue and the pipe issue. He said the home warranty company was going through a lot of changes and he would not get paid for the repairs because they were pre-existing . I still had to pay the $75.00 for him coming out and walking around the house. After he left the next day I called the home warranty company and they informed me that Ruben had written in his report that there was no failure of the pipes or the water heater and the claim had been closed. We are left a water heater that does not work and malfunctioning pipes, which Ruben clearly heard and said they was a issue. He did not provide us with any written details and now we understand why. This plumber will take your money and his not honest . he did no work and did not fix anything. Rude, Dishonest, Condescending

There is currently (and still) a leak in on my water heater. Therefore, no hot water and water obviously leaking. I going through my home warranty to fix that. I called my home warranty, then called the assigned company (Platinum Plumbing&Sewer) at 9am to get an appointment. They took a while to schedule an appointment. It was not until 4pm that I had my appointment schedule for the next day 12pm.
The guy was rude and didn't want to provide any details about his diagnostic and what was his recommendations. He told me that he was going to report immediately to the home warranty company and I was going to hear back from the home warranty within a couple of days. Just a reminder here: **I HAVE A LEAK AND NO HOT WATER**.
The home warranty company didn't hear from them until the next day and told me that there was a pre-existing condition.
Platinum Plumbing & Sewer is really good at working out pre-existing conditions for home warranty companies like other reviews mentioned.
It turns out that their business is more in helping out home warranty companies rather than helping out people.

Reuben of Platinum is THE MOST responsive and empathetic service provider I met. I made it clear in an email to him (as a follow up to a late night online request for service to AHS Warranty) that my water heater problems were going to cause major hardship given my home situation (young kids, in the middle of a move in, etc..). He called me that night apologizing for the late call but said I sounded desperate, then made sure to follow up as promised the following day exactly on time, even calling me back when he was going to be 20 mins later than expected given he had to stop for gas. I was so impressed by his attitude. He told me exactly what the process was going to be (diagnosis then solution), what the impact to my work schedule would be, etc.. I will definitely recommend him for this type of service (appliance work). Please note that Home Warrantys do everything they can to reject fixing/replacing things. You have to know this going in and be prepared to battle. IMO, the plumber is often the messenger vs. the problem.

My insurance just resolved a flood claim on my house that happened because Platinum Plumbing didn't bothering fixing the length of a replacement tube. That caused over a thousand dollars in damage. Insurance resolved it but said it was plumber negligence.

I usually don't take the time to write reviews unless I think that my opinion/experience would be useful to others, but I came to Yelp this AM to look for the phone # for Platinum Plumbing and saw a few bad reviews. My house is a plumbing nightmare so I have had many experiences with plumbers. I was introduced to Platinum Plumbing thru my home warranty company. This is the ONLY company who has given me the courtesy (on a few occasions) to understand that something as simple as a clogged sink can cause havoc on a household. Platinum Plumbing has always called me within an hour of placing a service call with the warranty company, They have never been late, disrespectful, impatient or less than professional in any way. Just now, I called them to see if they can help mw with a clogged sink (that I made worse by trying to fix it myself!!). It is just after 11AM and my sink will be cleared by 1PM. This is not because they are not busy. This is because Reuben knows what he is doing, therefore, he knows how long things will take. Furthermore, I know he will work through lunch to get jobs done. I have had plumbing problems the day before a house full on Thanksgiving and also on Xmas eve.... He has come as late as 8PM to help me out. If you want someone you can trust to be in your home, trust not to gauge you with prices and just want an honest, hard-working family man to help with plumbing problems, look no further.

I got my service request assigned to Platinum Plumbing through AHS. The guy called me to setup an appointment and sounded very rude and inflexible. I was not able to setup the appointment on that call. I called AHS and the agent told me that the plumbing company will call me later in the day to set up the appointment. I waited for almost a day and a half and Platinum Plumbing never called me again. I finally called AHS and had my Service request reassigned.

Placed a service call to American Home Shield. He came on time but kept on requesting the $60 co payment. I wasn't going anywhere. I had no hot water and a leaky faucet. He said these were pre existing problems and the home warranty won't cover until two months later. The home inspector should have caught it. Gee. I could have told myself that. He could have told me over the phone that he wasn't going to do anything but take my $60. Waste of time and very cocky attitude.

I was having a clogged drain in the bathroom sink. We always solve the problem by unclogging it with a plunger or by hand every time it happens. There is also a small leak in the shower and faucet where the bath tub is. I called my Home Warranty Insurance (Old Republic) for help and they sent a plumber (from Platinum Plumbing) to check and repair the problem. They said, I need to pay $60 for the service fee.
Next day, the plumber arrived and worked on the sink and the faucet. The leak became a FLOW. The water is just gushing both from the shower and the faucet, I'm just glad it all go straight to the tub. Ruben told me that the problem was inside the wall and he can not fix it because it is not covered by insurance. The valve was so old and when he tried to fix it, he said, he made it worse. He didn't show me what he worked on at all. He just kept on saying, ""inside the wall"". He then said ""It is a pre-existing condition"" and it is common for old houses. The job is $950 if I want them to continue to fix it. If I think the price is too high, I can ask for second opinion.
I was so pissed off but remain composed and calm. I don't like confrontation or argument at all. I asked him politely, to just bring back everything the way it was before he damaged it. He became speechless.
I called Old Republic and they apologized for what happened. They said they will send him back to fix everything and they will cover the charges.
I don't know if I have to trust the same person. When I talked to him, he confirmed he's coming back to fix it but I have to find somebody to fix the stucco because he will have to cut a hole to work on the pipes.

Another case today where Ruben saved the day around here with prompt response and great customer service!
