Like many other folks I was sent a Pioneer Plumber through affordablesocalplumber.com. The front page advertisement for $55 seemed like too good of an offer to pass up. Here's some things to consider:

Time Frame - The website phone number is a dispatch site so they sound super professional and give you a reasonable timeline and tell you someone will call you when they are on their way. They gave me a 4-5pm window for someone to arrive. I called at 4:40pm because I hadn't heard from anyone yet. I was told they couldn't get a hold of him but he should be about 20 minutes away. A plumber showed up at 5:30pm. I really didn't care what time they showed up but maybe add a few minutes to the time they give you.

Plumber - Anthony was my plumber and he deserves 5 stars (it's a shame he doesn't have his own page). He was kind, clean, and strait forward. Unfortunately, he couldn't fix the problem but he did successfully diagnose it so I don't have to pay for it all. It turned out to be a larger issue which is an HOA responsibility because I live in a condo.

Value - Anthony informed me that the $55 deal is only meant for an outside main cleaning but he still honored it. When I called to schedule I specifically asked if $55 was the price for the work I was requesting and they assured me it did. It seems there's a little miscommunication. In my area a plumber is $75/hour on weekdays and $95/hour on Saturdays so depending on the work you need Pioneer may be a savings.

All in all, Anthony was great and my experience was pretty good.

The experience was perfect. Our hot water was out. They came by the next morning after I called them, had an immediate solution and got me a new water heater. They gave me options on water heaters and gave me a price break. The plumber was prompt and respectful and the work was solid. Not more much you can want from a plumber.

Like most customers here I found Pioneer through a website http://www.affordablesocalplumber.com which advertised the $55 drain cleaning and clean out. Such a great offer so why not? I called to schedule an appointment and they sent Victor out to help me within an hour of calling. He was really nice, courteous and informative. One of my kids (I still don't really know which one since they all blame the baby) put a crap load of toilet paper in the toilet and stuffed it up so good that no plunger to loosen it up. Victor checked my clean out and said that the clog was in the toilet and he'd either have to take to the toilet out to clean it which would cost a load of money or he could try to auger it. Thank goodness the auger worked however, I was not charged the $55 as advertised but $120. I'm not mad at Victor for this. He's just the guy who works for the company and is doing his job. And he did a damn good job and was super likable. It's just annoying having to play this up charging game with companies who offer services for the home. My only advice is to be VERY DETAILED when explaining your problem over the phone and hopefully they can be more honest about giving a roundabout number for what it will cost. I'll still give these guys 4 stars because Victor was AWESOME.

Fantastic. Friendly and customer service oriented, I was charged less than I was expecting and our plumber even explained what he was doing step by step. I would definitely go back to them.

Pioneer ruined my shower doing a very simple job. They came in to unclog my shower drain and in the process dropped a large custom granite cover to the drain on the ground breaking it in half. In response, they offered to reduce the price from $160 to $60. First of all, $160 was an inflated price to unclog a drain that they wouldn't even quote until they arrived on-site. Second, the ""$100"" reduction to their inflated price is a fraction of the cost that it will cost to repair the shower. We're getting a quote to fix it now but expect it to run upwards of $1,000! To add insult to injury they weren't even apologetic and were rude. Avoid Pioneer at all costs!

The Friday evening after Christmas I was cooking dinner for guests and running really behind schedule. I don't know what I was thinking, but I shoved all the potato peelings down the disposal and within a minute, my sink was backed up with nasty black water. I called Pioneer Plumbing and they dispatched a tech who arrived about 45 minutes later. The tech was professional and courteous, and worked very efficiently. He took apart and cleaned our pipes and garbage disposal and showed me the ring that was broken as a result of my potato peelings. He had the replacement in stock, and made a complete repair within the hour. The cost was only $150, which considering it was Friday night during holiday season, and that included labor and parts, is pretty darn good. Several day later someone from customer service followed up with me to ensure I was satisfied with the service and make sure everything was still working great.

Fantastic job Pioneer! I would definitely use them again.

I called pioneer plumbing for the first and last time, I read the yelp reviews and some were good and some were bad, i am sure it all depends on who comes out to your home.
I called for a simple main line clog, we have an outside access point, so the price was going to be $55, I now find it hard to believe that anyone ever gets the $55 price. I was told our access was only an inch and a half, and their 3/4 inch snake would not fit, umm wait, your 3/4 inch snake will not fit down a 1 1/2 inch hole, so he says it will be much easier to just pull a toilet and go through that way.
So now I have waited till 4\30 for my appointment time of between 11 and 1, so he is at least 3 1/2 hours late from the 1 oclock time frame 5 1/2 hours late from the 11 oclock time frame, and he starts pulling the toilet and informs me that now the service is $279, because he cant use the main line clean out.
I was born in the day, but i wasnt born yesterday, I told him to leave, now i find out that they are all on commission, so if they dont feel like doing something, they just jack up the price, so they will either make a bunch of money, or they can go home early.

Bad Bad business practice.
You people ought to be ashamed

BEWARE! I did not heed the review to STAY AWAY, AVOID, and now regret it. I had a leaking toilet in a unit that was tenant occupied. I was told that I would get a full report before any work was done, was given the impression that the plumber would be available that same day (Sat), and was told there was no extra charge for Sat. However, the plumber Phil went there on Sun, did the 'work', and did not let me know until Mon to request $500 for 'rebuilding' the toilet, which consisted of replacing the wax ring ($3) and rubber valve in the tank ($3). Worse, the toilet WAS STILL LEAKING water on the floor! WHAT CROOKS! I had to hire a real plumber to fix the actual problem, which had nothing to do with the wax ring or the rubber valve.
