The company that bought out Absolute Zero answers the phone number associated with the original owner, Steve, and does not identify the fact that it is now Performance Air Conditioning Electrical and Plumbing. In fact, they didn't even mention it until I remarked that Steve has really gone upscale with the music and canned greeting- (which, by the way, still did not mention the new name). I needed immediate service for my air handler, and Gordon came out right away and determined that it was the fan motor and he would either be back to replace it that afternoon or the next day, July 3. I the meantime, he also was selling me on their membership plan which seemed like a good deal to me at the time, but never left me a copy of the contract. By 4:30 on the 3rd, no one came or called, so I called and spoke to Michael and he assured me that they had the motor and someone would be back the next day (which was July 4th) and was given a window of 12:00 to 4:00. I also mentioned that I did not get a copy of the membership contract and questioned if there was a 3 day cancellation clause in it, as is typical in contracts, and he said the person coming out the next day would bring it. I was skeptical about them coming out on the 4th, called back and Michael assured me that yes- someone would be here. No one showed up so I called and spoke to a woman who told me that I was not on the schedule and that the motor was not in. I called back and spoke to Michael and told him that I considered the order and contract cancelled. I also texted them at 4:25 on July 4th to confirm my phone conversation with them due to the fact that they did not show up (and I was lied to), that the order/contract is cancelled. They never got back to me, but yesterday, July 30, I received a note presumably from Absolute Zero claiming to be Steve- the original owner- saying it was time for my air conditioning tune-up. It had the same logo and original address as Absolute zero with a P.S. """"Great news, our recent merger with Performance is allowing us to offer..."""" After digging into this, I found out it was NOT a merger! As Tamara H stated: buyer beware! BTW- I called 'I Care Air Care' and will be using them from now on.

I have been a Cust for years. They neglected to close out a permit. I have been no trying for 2 months to get this corrected. The supposed manager has been giving me the run around. Doesnt return calls emails texts. Owner wont call back either. He's like a ghost. . Can't finalize the closing-of my house. Ben is inept. Worst experience ever.

BE VERY AWARE of Performance Air and Velocity Air. They quoted $5000.00 and 2500.00 for repair. Was repaired by Lloyd's Air Conditioning for $250.00. Running smoothly. He actually showed me what he was doing, was honest and knew how to troubleshoot. My unit is 7 years old Rose T

We had A/C issue, so we called. They came the same day to look at, he gave me the list of what's wrong. It was approx. $4000 to fix it, so he recommend me to replace whole unit, which cost $6000. We had a feeling we are getting rip off, so we called another company for 2nd opinion. We were right. It was totally rip off. We showed the list of what's wrong and estimate to fix. 2nd company told me many company tell you to scare that house might burn down so we should fix it immediately or replace it. We paid the 2nd company $300 to fix, out the door. Performance AC is very business oriented and money hungry company, I would say. They might do good job, but I just don't want to pay for unnecessary stuffs or over-pay.

I will keep this short and sweet because I don't want to waste anymore of my time on this company. Basically, Performance AC just recently quoted us for a fan motor and cooling coils at $1,700 and $3,300. After specifically asking the technician if the manufacturer warranty would cover this repair he said no. To my surprise I called Trane and yes, both parts are covered under warranty. Come to find out Performance AC has customer pay out of pocket for full cost of parts and then goes to Trane directly for reimbursement and pockets the difference. This in addition to selling us on multiple UV lights unnecessarily and changing our variable speed handler to a single speed is just too much to let this pass without bringing it to everyone's attention. Good luck to all and please if you use this company PLEASE check their work and call for second opinions before any work is completed.

I am absolutely not surprised at all by the number of negative reviews regarding this company's honesty, integrity and customer service. If I had known their true colors prior to our contracting with them to install a new AC unit in our home, I would not be inclined to echo disappointment at this point. After 2 and 1/2 years, we made a call with a small request to troubleshoot a thermostat anomaly where the representative convinced us we needed a technician to do a thorough check up at a price double the offers we had seen advertised recently. Why did we believe their slick tale about how they check at least """"double"""" the functions? When our new neighbor noted their company truck at our home, he consulted with the tech and scheduled a new install at his home. Why did we believe the tech's promise of a $50 finders' fee as it was obvious where this new business came from? After several attempts at reminding the company of their promise, receiving messages saying they would get the check out ASAP, I resigned to acknowledging there was never any intent to fulfill their promise of a finders' fee. Huge lack of any customer service appears to be their MO sadly...........

The most dishonest, rude and pushy company I have ever dealt with!!! They should really be reported to the. Do yourself a favor and stay away from. They don't deserve one star, but I had to put it for it to go through. This is the second review I have submitted and the first one disappeared how odd -so talk about on at an unethical company. They really should be fined for the business practices!!!! Very pushy - I can't stress enough how dishonest they are

Our A/C stopped working in our condo when friends were staying in the unit. Not being there, we had the property manager handle the problem. He called Performance which stated that we needed a whole new unit and thermostat. Stated that the motor was not working at all. A time was set for a sales person to come out and give us a price. Didn't feel comfortable about the whole situation. So, I called another A/C company that I used years ago. Long story short, all we needed to get it working was a new thermostat, but I had taken the suggestion of replacing a worn part on the condenser also. Glad I called another honest A/C company.

Once they get your signature and initial payment....sign you up and sell you a unit, it takes approximately 8 months where they stop responding to your emails and phone calls and all together stop responding back in a timely manner unless it involves them making money. I bought a very expensive unit , spent 14k+ on the unit, and tried to get them to be responsive and contact us. They have actually ended up coming to the house and shocking several boards (on accident) and causing very big delays in fixing, over 5 days to fix the boards and left us AC'less over the weekend. I had to purchase an extra AC window unit for reliability since they are rather unreliable at fixing their own Trane units. They have consistently failed to contact us responsibly upon request and we believe that the service has seriously gone down hill. They will then try to get you on a monthly plan in which they charge you monthly.

They're scammers, stay away. If you do decide to make the bad decision of calling them, don't sign up for their stupid club, and definitely get other estimates. So here is what happened: my air handler was leaking. The tech came out and told me he didn't really know why but my coils were dirty and that might fix the problem. That would have cost me $800. BTW, saying """"the coils are dirty"""" seems to be their signature line after reading other reviews. Anyway, I ended getting suckered into joining there club. The tech told me I could cancel anytime, which isn't the case, but I took care of that little issue a different way. I decided to get another opinion on the matter. The second company I called said my coils were fine, showed me the problem, fixed the problem, showed me how to avoid it in the future, and charged $130. Like I said, STAY AWAY!
