Recommended Customer Reviews
they are certainly overpriced. they ask for 50 bucks for a visit, which just hopefully identify the problem, not fixing it. I have a sewer problem which need to dig a hole at my front porch then fix the pipe, the cost was $5500. it was about one day work. I used them because I was in a crazy hurry. but you can certainly find a much cheaper price.
Pamela P.As I read all of the reviews here, I'm reminded of the merit of this company - read all of the responses from the business manager riddled with excuses and defense of how customers like me walked away feeling. Justin Carrol - I just learned was the owner that came out and filled up the freon in our unit. If you're in the market for plumbing or HVAC services I urge you to go elsewhere. There is a reason that they have the nice shiny trucks that they drive around town...I will never forget the way I was treated by this company and will keep letting all my neighbors know to steer clear.
I've not used this company in several years & for good reason. Recently, I've been seeing their commercials on TV, which have greatly annoyed me because our experience has been less than pleasant and downright criminal. in their commercials they claim to be honest & reliable - well our experience has been quite the opposite. We had an aged AC unit that we were servicing. It worked fine but needed a good cleaning & was making noise. It was aged and at the end of its life - for sure but because we had just moved into our house we wanted to service it to keep it hanging on till we could reserve money to replace it (and the furnace). When the technician arrived it was blowing cold air, with the exception of an annoying sound. When the technician came when he looked at the units age he was on a mission to sell us a new one and started putting the pressure on. He spent a while outside by the unit & wasn't really able to pinpoint the origin of the noise - he didn't even bother to clean the unit, convinced that we would just cave. Annoyed by his pushy behavior my husband went to our back yard, turned the corner of the house witnessing him letting Freon run out of the unit. When my husband came out the technician fidgeted & acted really nervous, but my husband could hear the hissing sound of the Freon escaping from the unit & confronted him insisting that he leave. We called the office to complain about this as our AC still had a noise & now was blowing hot air. We insisted that the owner send someone back out to fill it, which the owner (or so he said) returned & refilled it back up. The unit went on to last for another 3 years after calling Beery Heating and Cooling in Oswego to reinspect & clean. The noise ended up being the fan blade needed tightening simple & took about five minutes for the tech to figure out & fix. Beery wasn't the cheapest out there, but very honest. We replaced our AC/Furnace with Beery and they've been servicing it ever since without any issues.
I would recommend that you do your homework - I would avoid this company at all cost. When I see a Perfect Air truck in a neighbors driveway I do my best to reach out and warn them - if I see it in a strangers driveway I cringe and worry if they are being treated honestly or being scammed. Yes it was that bad. Needless to say Perfect Home Services was nothing close to ""perfect"". They've forever shattered my trust in HVAC companies. When anyone asked for me for recommendations - I quickly give them a summary of why to avoid Perfect Home Services and why I would never recommend them - even to my worst enemy.
I have had the VIP service for my AC and Furnace for the past few years. They do a thorough inspection and trust them when they make maintenance recommendations. I never got the impression that they were trying to suggest something just for the up-sale sake.
During my latest bi-annual inspection Darryl, explained what he was doing and why he made the recommendations. Excellent job.
I'm not even sure how I can give this 1 star. My furnace was shooting out cold air as well as failing to start on several attempts. 3 difference technicians came out 5 times-5 times that I had to be home from work because they could not diagnose the problem (not to mention came late to most of the appointment times). They replaced: igniter, control board, and gas valve. I had hoped by the time the gas valve was fixed, this was the end of the problems. Right after the technician left, the furnace was failing to start as shooting cold air upstairs (I guess they only got half the house right on that one). Out of pure frustration due to the SEVERAL attempts of diagnosis and fails at that, and over $1000 spent on this (which come to find out was WAY over priced), I called the company to speak to the owner and left messages over 3 times now. I tried to give him the opportunity to make this situation right before I left a scathing review here as well as other places. The owner clearly does not care about servicing his customers, and basically just stole money since I will need to call a much more competent HVAC company to fix the issue. I could not be more frustrated, angry and plain out disappointed. I guess if you need a simple problem fixed, then go for it. But if your problem has anything complex to it, save yourself the money, time and patience and find another company who can provide the customer service that should be expected.
Shin M.Worst plumbing experience I've ever had!!!
First off, the technician said he would call me when he got to the house and tell me the details of the situation. He never did. I called 3-4 times the same day, getting transferred to other useless people. Why was it my responsibility to have to chase someone down to find out what they did to my rental house after they initially told me they would call me once they got to my house- 8 hours earlier?!
I was upset about having to chase someone down 3-4 times and spoke with Kristin, a CRM about it. She didn't care. I asked to speak with Justin Caroll, the owner/president because his website says if I ever have any issues, that I can speak to him directly. I called 3-4 times within ONE week and was told all 3-4 times, that Justin would call me back asap. Even the CRM, Kristin, personally told me that he would call me the next day. I never heard from anyone. The 5th time I called, Kristin told me that she never told me he would call me the next day- she said she would send him a message to do so. When I told her ""I know you record your calls, go back and listen to our call because you told me he would call me the next day. "" and she said ""okay well then I gave you the wrong information."" I said ""can you send him another message to call me?"" and she said ""ok I will."" and I said ""it sounds to me like you're going to send him another message and he's just going to ignore it like he did last time?"" and she said ""that is probably the case"" and I said "" i don't understand- his customer guarantee straight from his website says if we ever have a problem, to contact him directly"" and she said ""I don't know. he read my email the first time and didn't think it was worth calling you back on."" so then I told her to tell him I'm going to write negative reviews everywhere and she said ""Ok I'll let him know, bye""
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! TERRIBLE LEADERSHIP FROM THE VERY TOP! HE LIED ON HIS WEBSITE! Please see below for the President's message on his website- which he doesn't follow through with:
""If at any time you have any questions, comments or concerns that need extra special attention please don't hesitate to contact me. I would be more than happy to give you all the time and attention you need. Thank you for your interest in our company.
Sincerely,
Justin Carrol
President, Perfect Air""
Called Perfect Home Services tonight after my daughter broke our diverter on our drain, causing it to fall into the bathtub drain and cause a buildup of water in the tub. Originally called at 9pm seeing as how this company has countless advertisements that they are a 24 hour business and will come at any hour to meet their customers' needs. As someone who works night shift and was anxious to get my problem fixed, I appreciated this. However, after being told that a technician would ""call me right back"", I was, needless to say, disappointed that I needed to call 2 more times over the span of 2 hours to get a response. And when I finally got a rude return call from an annoyed-sounding technician, I was so disgusted that I told them I would send my business elsewhere. If you encourage your workers to ask their customers in disgusted tones ""is this an emergency?"", then please don't advertise 24 hour service. I have paid your company's ridiculous prices in the past, but never again. Beyond disappointed and offended by this company.
Sergio is an amazing technician who knows his stuff! He is knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy. Thank you for a job well done Sergio!
John T.Jim Hamilton and Perfect Home Sevices came to the rescue on a muggy 95 degree day that we had been without cooled air for nearly 24 hours . Though the demand for immediate service was at a peak, the skills and knowledge of a Perect Home Service's technician allowed quick and efficient repairs for several clients which soon included our Addison home. Jim diagnosed a failed capacitor, replaced the part, cooled the overheated fan motor, cleaned the condensor fins and explained the energy savings we could look forward to when ready to upgrade the equipment. The optimism and professional confidence of the technician seemed to wipe away the irritation of the previous night. We highly recommend Perfect Home Services for any Heating and Cooling and we are not in fear of any equipment failure in the future as we know they are a only phone call away.
How dignity, honesty, and integrity in business no longer exist in some businesses ... and their owners & technicians can sleep at night knowing that they have ripped off their only source of revenue,,, their own customers..... read the facts
It's with extreme disappointment my wife and I are writing this review. We only asked for a maintenance and service. our functioning A/C unit was maintained a year or so ago, so we wanted to make sure all electrical components & other cooling elements are in good standing.
After 2 appointment cancellations, finally the technician shows-up at the third attempt (not his fault - busy season). Two and a half hours of work, the Freon was a bit low & and a potential capacitor needed replacement (wear and tear). very fair diagnosis. This is what I expected, a good troubleshooting and replacement or refill, etc.. But what I was surprised about, is the estimated & final bill (and how it was calculated and discounted)
What Perfect Home didn't know, is that I work with different contractors in our building and many HVAC technicians all week or at least multiple times a month, and I am fully aware of parts and fluids relevant to an Air-conditioning unit (including their list price fair, good and bad). I never told the technician that I am on the board of directors of our community association.
So the technician did his job, reported what needed immediate attention, a bit of R22 Freon and a capacitor replacement (not that it's broken, but it's not operating at it's maximum electrical capacity when the blower turns on). I was very happy to know that we find a part that need to be replaced and we caught it early on before it brakes, and that we needed more Freon. But to pay $232 for a capacitor and $455 for just a 1 pound of R22 Freon wasn't what I expected. Something didn't seem right.
So I continued leading the technician to his own mud, to see how far he will go to continue with his price list. I asked him "" ... are you sure the capacitor price is correct, he pulls his Perfect Home price list, and shows me the price, and yes, it is listed for $232, I looked him in the eyes, and I said, isn't that extremely expensive for a capacitor? I knew he will not break but he didn't know I know how much these parts run for (from $10 to maybe, maybe, $50 alright let's make it an even $100)... that was first flag.
The second red flag, after I let him indulge me with the Freon refill, @ $455, I asked him, but how come you're charging me $455 for just a ton or less? again he referred me to his bible (Perfect Home list price) and of course, I let him carry on with his work as he was trained to do and say, as it is so embarrassing for him to get caught while I have another technician in the building working on the same exact floor, literally across from my unit, and sitting right next to him on the roof top of the building watching him do his work...
After giving him the benefit of the doubt if he could change his price as it was not realistic to spend around $700 for just a capacitor and a pound of Freon, here is the third red flag, he comes to me and say, ""I will give you a discount... I'll give you the capacitor for free, and you only pay for the Freon"". Okay, now I feel his conscious woke up and he is going to charge me the right price. so I asked him, would you also, include in the $455 the $90 diagnosis fee? of course I knew the answer before he said it; that fee is added to the total. So I left him alone on the roof top, went to my long term contractor who does so much work for our buildings (couldn't get him to my unit in time hence i had to call Home Perfect...), and showed him the bill, and that's were he realized that his was the most disgusting business service he has ever seen in the HVAC industry. I was ripped off. It's ok money comes and goes, but honesty, and integrity either it exists or it doesn't.
Here are the facts - from the industry:
Alright, here is how much a capacitor costs: between $10-$100 (just for giggles)
Here is how much Freon R22 costs per pound: between $50-$150 (depending on the ripe-off contractor)
if I calculate the total $ amount I should have paid:
Average calculation: $50 (capacitor) + $100 (for 2 pounds of Freon + $89 (diag fee) = $239
Worse case calculation: $100 + $150 + $89 = $339
Best case calculation: $10 + $75 + $89 = $174 (roughly $200)
So where in the world $533 come from? for changing the blower capacitor & adding 1.5 pounds of R22 Freon? am I missing something?
Should this company be in business or maybe in court? being on the board of directors, and meet with many associations, I personally never experienced this type of low scale of business conduct. how did we reach such a degrading level of dignity and integrity in business? I feel sorry for the employees who are being trained to charge their customer an amount that has a 400% margin.
I called these guys because my AC was not blowing cold air. The dispatching lady was nice and gave me regular updates on my appointment status. Technician called me before heading to my home and arrived on time. Nice things ended here and one star is for dispatching lady.
Technician connected the pressure gauge to the suction line and told me that my unit is almost empty. He did not even wait few minutes until pressure in the system stabilized. He estimated around 3-6 pounds of Freon and quoted me $600 to recharge it. For record the maximum capacity of my unit is 5 pounds. He wanted another $270 to find the leak and another $150 to clean the unit. I may be bit off on the numbers because technician did not leave quote paper with me. He does not want anyone to see these outrageous prices? He asks me to decide between new unit and $1000 repair bill. He was eager to call his boss and setup a appointment for new unit installation quote! I paid him $50 service fee and asked him to leave.
Another company fixed my AC for $150. If your AC needs Freon recharge, look around and you can get it recharged for lot less price than these people.
