Peninsula Irrigation is a family-owned and operated company. For over 40 years, we have been at the forefront of outdoor plumbing, irrigation, and sprinkler services for both commercial and residential properties on the San Francisco Peninsula.
We handle all facets of outdoor potable plumbing and irrigation, from large installations to minor repairs. We take pride in meeting the irrigation and lighting needs of the SF Peninsula! Nearly 20 years ago, I started with Peninsula Irrigation, learning from the original owner, Randy Thomas. With Randy’s retirement, I was fortunate to take over the Peninsula Irrigation service legacy as the new owner. Many of our clients have become long-time friends, and everyone at Peninsula Irrigation looks forward to building a strong working relationship with you as well!

Recommended Customer Reviews

This is the second time Peninsula Irrigation has come to our rescue. This time it was to install a new controller and replace/trouble-shoot many renegade sprinkler heads. Great communication, quality work, friendly crew (Junior), and totally reasonable pricing. Highly recommend!

Quick and knowledgeable on fixing an issue I had with my sprinklers. Great job Joe and Dominic!

I have done my own irrigation work previously but just don't have the time anymore. It's hard to find a company to do this right at a fair price but we did. Peninsula Irrigation is excellent! The work was tidy and top notch, and the final invoice was so detailed that I could actually see what the charges were for. This is such a rarity nowadays and is so greatly appreciated. It took several weeks between the first and second visit to get the job completed but it's not their fault they are busy! I would not hesitate to recommend Peninsula Irrigation for your irrigation needs. They did a complete repair and overhaul of the drip system we inherited when we bought our house, including fixing broken pipes and adding onto the system. We discussed creative solutions for our planter beds and our lead tech, Junior, took time to explain our options. We could not be more pleased with the quantify of the work and transparency of the process. Thank you!

We've done business with Peninsula Irrigation for at least a decade, generally on a yearly basis. We're always impressed by the quality of service & the fairness of charges, as well as the competence & courtesy or their technicians. They can be a bit slow to respond in high traffic seasons like early spring, but worth the wait.

Peninsula Irrigation is the type of service provider I wish all vendors were -- responsive, reasonable, professional -- a community-minded business that wants to build a long term relationship.
Recently, on an early Saturday morning, I learned my PVC garden pipe had burst overnight. I cringed to find a ""geyser"" and baby swimming pool in my backyard.
Thankfully, handy neighbors provided a temporary fix.
I then began contacting a myriad of plumbers. Guy Plumbing did not provide the services I needed, however, they provided a number of referrals. Peninsula Irrigation was one of them.
From the outset, the company was responsive. Robert Porterfield contacted me via email asking to speak to obtain additional information. He then called at the scheduled time -- a rarity.
Robert was unbelievably friendly and very helpful.
He re-prioritized his service worker's schedule to meet my urgent need. Learning I had lost my position due to COVID 19, he offered a flexible payment plan. I was stunned. In this time of angst, here was an act of random kindness.
Every interaction with Peninsula Irrigation was remarkable!
From the email I received when the technician was fifteen minutes out and the technician's early arrival, to his patient education of what he was doing to resolve the issue and his clean-up of the area where he had worked.
Kudos to Peninsula Irrigation and their team. An old-fashioned business that believes in and delivers customer service of the highest quality. I will be a lifelong customer.

Horrible! What a nightmare! They charge outrages price, more expensive than doctors or lawyers. They lied about the water leaks, the need the replace valves, bring family to bill the time, wrong equipment, etc,

We were very pleased with this company. They were very professional--answering their phone promptly, making an appointment for the next day, and sending out a true expert on irrigation, Junior Martinez. Irrigation and drip systems can be complicated and Junior exceeded all of our expectations on how much he knew and how quickly he fixed all of our problems in one hour! Yes, they were expensive, but we found that they were worth it. We are good to go for some time thanks to his expertise.

TL;DR - Horrible and expensive.
Here's the deal, hour #1 of visit #1 is *really expensive* (like working with a lawyer expensive), then after that every hour is reduced to just *expensive*. They bill in 5 minute increments from the time the van pulls up to the time it goes away. So when the tech answers a phone call, forgets a tool, or make a wrong turn, it's on your dime.
In my case, they left me with a faulty repair / home water feature. I called twice at 3:30pm and they didn't get back to me until the next day. Had to turn the water off to the house and I'm not sure how many gallons of water was wasted.
What did I get in return? An overbilled invoice and an apology. In fairness, the tech was a nice guy but I don't think Peninsula Irrigation (the company) did me right.
I will never use their service again.

I can't speak to their work, but I can report that it took them over SIX WEEKS to get an estimate to me after a site visit and only after I emailed them to ask about why I still hadn't heard anything. Ours was a simple straightforward job that could have been turned around quickly. No reason why it took that long to hear back. I understand companies are very busy, but they need to manage expectations and communicate better.

Attentive to detail, thoughtful, knowledgeable, informative, and thorough. We had a problem that arose just prior to our departing on a 3 week trip. Nate came out to diagnose and discuss the issue. While we were away, he kept in contact with us frequently, by email, telling us what was happening and asking how we wanted to proceed. When the job was finished, he came out again, personally, to check on all the work. I find this type of followup to be exceptional. Most businesses just finish the job and send a bill. The other men who worked at our home were very courteous and professional.
