RUN!!! DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!!
I called to set an appointment for an estimate which was 8 days later as that is all they had available. Not a problem, let's book it for the 7am-10am window. At 11am the day of apt I still had not met with the electrician or received a '30 minute call'. I then reached out to the office to discuss who said 'this is just your preference, they can show up at any point through out the day. So I am expected to not only block off 3 hours for a 30 minute conversation but now the whole day?? Pretty sure I have to work myself to pay for the job needed.
Anyway I am speaking to the office who decided that a 3 hour window is not how business works and wouldn't even let me get a word in to the point were I disconnected the call.
If you want to sit around your house all day to have no guarantee they will show up this is the company for you!! However, other companies will stick to the window given and communicate if they will be late. I will never call Penguin again.

Michael Rios was wonderful, I have always had good experiences with penguin air and can honestly say they employ some of the nicest hardworking people I've met. Awesome customer service and incredibly reliable and professional.

Had good luck with the A/C portion of Penguin, so we unfortunately hired the electrical side to rewire our aluminum circuits to copper to make our home safer. Horrible mistake! All three technicians have lied & said they completed work & left our home in a total mess. Quoted 3-5 days & we are looking at a month & still not done. Do not hire Penguin Electrical ever! Purposely deceitful liars!

If I could give this company and the people 6 stars I would. They gave me a quote on my AC and air handler, communicated well, showed up on time, worked very efficiently, did what they said and cleaned up after themselves. My neighbors had their AC replaced recently and it took all day. Mine was completed in a bit over 4 hours. From start to finish it was a great experience. Top to bottom great people.

Absolutely terrible!! First they showed up with one guy who basically refused to wear a mask in my house after telling them it was necessary. Left the laundry room covered in water and muck after still not fixing the issue. Next day they showed up to my house at 8 AM without telling me or anyone else that they were coming at that time. When we rescheduled they never showed up later that day and had to reschedule yet again. Upon a reschedule the two men who came over to my house made me extremely uncomfortable, invaded my space and asked weird questions about my interior of my home that had nothing to do with the repair such as my pets. They were here for a solid 20 minutes ""using the camera"" to see what the problem was. They left without telling me what they found and later quoted us $5,000 for a repair we had fixed by someone else for $125!!!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!! If you are a woman who doesn't have a man living with you they will try to screw you over!

Do not use these people. They tried to charge me $650.00 for a job that should only cost between $100 - $150 dollars. They said they changed out a condenser but did not. Had another company come after them and was shocked on how they tried to scam me.

I felt that a $346.00 charge for a $20.00 capacitor which took less than 40 minutes to install is excessive. Sean was great the company charges too much for a simple fix. Will not use them again.

MY PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. HOWEVER PLEASE READ BELOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN READING MORE. YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN JUDGEMENT BASED UPON THIS INFORMATION.
My water heater unfortunately broke very suddenly, and leaked for around an hour before I switched it off. It was in my garage, so the garage was wet but the water did drain mostly into the street. Of course, I needed a new hot water heater to be installed, so I could have hot water again. As a member of Penguin Air's monthly 'club', which I had joined in case things like this happen, I called them to have a member of the team around. The plumber arrived and told me that I can either pay for the new heater myself - twice the price of competitors for the same water heater - but there could be significant dry wall damage, so the best thing would be an insurance claim. This is where the scam started. He explicitly stated that if I paid Penguin Air in cash it would be a lot less, however that would be out of my own pocket. He explained that the advantage of claiming against my insurance would be Penguin Air charge the insurance company significantly more that I would pay for the same work and then, at the end of the job, once everything is complete with insurance, they'll write me a check for my deductible so I don't end up paying anything. He described it almost as a win-win for us and them. I lay out some money, in line with what insurance asks for, and they reimburse it later. For the record, in the end I went with another reputable, recommended company that replaced the water heater for 50% less than the Penguin Air quote for the same device, and the plumber simply told me to run fans for several days instead to dry out any damp. The plumber from Penguin Air, however, didn't use water detection meters, or even look at the heater very closely. He just came up with that scam immediately, and was ready to get me to sign - putting pressure on me by highlighting the danger of having damp potentially in there. He just didn't realize that I recognize fraud when I see it. When I pointed out that this was in fact a fraudulent scheme, he said that they do this hundreds of times every year and it works for many of their customers. I wanted to report this as this impacts honest customers like myself. I was extremely upset at such a large, prominent company offering such an obvious insurance scam.
Choose for yourself. I'm not going to tell you either way. But I will be steering clear of the company in the future.

my problem was a switch being off, if Michael would have done his job, he would have noticed that a switch was off, instead he wanted to break down my walls.
service requested was electrical, Michael came to my house looked at the electrical panel and his ""expert opinion was that my walls needed to be broken down, and new wiring system was needed"", he didn't even take the time to look in my kitchen for the outlets that were not working. Until I asked him, how was he able to say what I need if he has not even tested my outlets. he avoided answering my questions and avoided looking at me. instead, he would answer my husband's questions. I contacted his customer service manager Tanya and reported the problem, she didn't call back until days later, then after she made me believe that she cared and promise to call me back with updates and also promised to give me back my $69.00 that Michael insisted to get pay after doing nothing, I paid him because I was so disappointed and frustrated on how this company worker operated. I thought it was a department issue not a company problem. As of Now I have left messages and no one has called me back, neither my $69.00 has arrived yet.
