Let's begin with setting the appointment. I called regarding having my A/C looked at and requested the 10am-1pm block that was offered to me. By 1:15pm I had still not received so much as a call about my service. I called the office and they informed me the technician was running late and ""sorry"" nobody updated me but he would call when he was 30 minutes out. At 2:48pm I received a call from Troy Schumacher and he said he would be to my house in 30 to 45 minutes. Troy actually arrived about an hour and a half later, it's now 4:10 pm, three and a half hours after my scheduled appointment time.

Troy was friendly enough up until it came time for me to tell him I wasn't going to use Penguin Air to fix my A/C, before I could he finish my sentence he was on the phone with someone telling them I had a family friend who was going to fix it and complaining it was his second one today, then proceeded to have an ongoing conversation about how he was not going to be on call because he had a date and he switched with someone so he could go on said date. Highly unprofessional for him to A. Bash my decision not to use his services and B. To continue having a personal conversation while still in my home as he literally threw his tools back into his tool bag so he could leave. He then proceeded to tell me, ""We don't get paid to come out and do quotes, we get paid for doing repairs.""

This was my first experience with Penguin Air, not only will it be my last, I will also ensure nobody I know has to suffer through the same horrible experience I had to go through.

The technician Joey was extremely rude and did not want to wait while I was on the phone with my home warranty company to see if my home warranty would cover the work by an outside contractor. I will NEVER recommend service by this company EVER! They need to teach their technicians better manners and that they should be respectful of their customers needs. Not everyone can fork over $1,000+ to have this stuff fixed.

So I had the job done by another company and they were only going to charge my ~$250 for the entire job. Thankfully my warranty company covered that. How can your company try and charge me $1,000+ for the exact same repair?!

I have to thank Steve R. and Tonya for for all their help in getting my a.c. up and running again, they went way above and beyond what any company I've ever dealt with have to make sure the problem was fixed and that we were happy.
We bought this a.c. unit new a little over 3 years ago from another company and we have had nothing but problems with it, we finally contacted Penguin Air & Plumbing to see if they could figure out what the problem was.
We spoke with Tonya and she was such a great help and she was the one that was able to get this all to happen as far as getting us the service we needed.
Steve R. was sent out to take a look and get things working properly, with in just a short amount of time had our old compressor pulled out, replaced the online dryer, vaccumed the system down and had it recharged.
Before he showed up the temperature in my house was over 100 degrees as we had just been through one of the hottest weeks on record, temps hit 120 earlier in the week. Within a couple hours of Steve getting my system back up and running my house was a very comfortable 78 degrees.
With Tonya's help we were able to get this all taken care of under warranty, I can honestly say I will only do business with the wonderful people when I need any HVAC or plumbing work done as they are true professionals and they actually care about their customers as it shows in ever part of the process.

I want to thank everyone that has helped us from Penguin Air and Plumbing from the bottom of my heart, it was a job well done and you all deserve to be recognized for your hard work

I bought a Groupon to have an A/C tune up and hours after they looked at my unit coincidentally we began to have issues. I called to inform them about our issues and they said they would come back out the next day between 10-1 to see what happened. I never heard from them again. It doesn't help we are experiencing record heat. Their lack of customer service has solidified I will never turn back to them

Highway Robbery!!!!! Totally ripped off for 20 minutes of work!!!!!!!! They charged $349 to replace a simple part in my bath tub that took the service guy no more than 20 minutes to replace. I complained a few days later and they dropped the bill by about $125 bucks. I needed the work done right away for my tenant that late afternoon. Service guy was an hour late and it was too late to call someone else.

I bought a groupon to have my ac serviced which it was, then I was told I needed $1074 worth of repairs done. I got a second opinion from American Home Water and Air. They came out and said my AC was fine and didn't need any immediate repairs. The one thing they did say might need servicing in the future was the compressor compactor which Penguin air quoted me at $381. American said they charge around $200. I was also told most AC company's pay their employees by commission. So the more they sell, the more they make. I will never use Penguin Air again.

I started using this company last year looking for a tune-up on my unit. I was very pleased with the service that I signed up for their membership program(so glad i did).This time I called to get my unit check and undergo some maintenance and Jevonte showed up again on time. He answered all my questions with a professional and friendly tone.He was very honest and tried to look for the best/cheapest solution for my problem.I ended up getting a new unit replaced thanks to Jevonte's advice and knowledge.I will definitely refer and share this company with everyone!! Penguin Air is a Rip Off. Had Joey come out last Tuesday. He claimed my air conditioner unit was completely shot. Burnt wires, compressor was shot. Offered a new unit for $10,000. Later offered it at $9500 cash. Called me back an hour later offering $8500. I suffered a week in the heat when I got a second opinion. Turns out the main breaker was shut off, I'm sure by Joey. My second opinion turned on the power and it's cool as ice in my home again. Penguin should tell consumers they are sending a salesman, not a technician. Buyer, beware. Get a second opinion.

Had a water heater that was still under warranty. It stopped heating and started leaking pretty heavy (not installed by Penguin Air). Contacted Penguin and let them know about the situation. Got a call from a tech shortly there after who was friendly as always. We talked about what was happening and he had me send him a picture of the serial tag info from the water heater so they could make sure they had my replacement all lined up. They came out that next day and switched the old warrantied unit out with the brand new one. I liked my old unit and wanted the same brand and they had no issue with that.

The entire job was around $500. $100 of that was for a dumb charge by the warranty warehouse to actually process the warranty (not a Penguin charge at all, I called a couple other plumbing companies to check and that is just a charge the manufacturer warehouse guys charge). The 400$ or so was for the install. The tech even brought to our attention a problem with our water softener that we were unaware of. We were very grateful for this because it was actually a safety issue. We remedied that right away.

Yes with Penguin you might pay a few bucks more than you would with Joe Bob's Plumbing repair but they really stand by their work and I know I can call them anytime with an issue and they will make it right. Heck getting warranties honored for products can be a hassle, but it was so easy with them. Fast, friendly, and they warranty their work. We will keep using them.

I made my appointment over a month ago, my time was from 8-11, then did not show up until 12pm. not very good service
