In 1956, R.B. (Bob) Payne and his son R.W. (Bill) Payne started Payne Plumbing and Sanitation Company. They handled septic tank installations and plumbing for rural areas. By delivering top-notch service at fair prices and prioritizing customer satisfaction, the business thrived.

Bill Payne became a licensed Master Plumber in Shreveport in 1960. They branched out into major residential and minor commercial plumbing work. In 1968, the National Association of Plumbing Contractors honored Bill Payne as Contractor of the Year. They introduced heating and AC services in 1970.
