We Feel ripped off. After five minutes of hydrojetting our cesspool, I was asked how many toilets we had which is two. The serviceman asked me to go inside quickly and flush both toilets two times each which I did. My wife watched him from a window. Upon my return, the cover was back on. I asked him how much chemical (typically sulfuric acid) he put in as I noticed there was no can/bottle within sight. He told me ""5 gallons"". Our regular cesspool service company was unavailable. He took 5 more minutes to write out a receipt and secure his hose. I still saw not smelled any chemical (which has a very recognizable smell). I asked about my senior discount. He said it's already included, which seemed peculiar since I hadn't mentioned it before. He then drove off. My wife watched him the entire time through the window and said she didn't see him pour anything into the cesspool after he hydrojetted it for only a couple minutes. I realized then that he sent me inside to flush the two toilets to stall for time while he packed up and closed the top. He obviously lied to me about the chemical and my senior discount. I would caution anyone considering using their service unless they care to be lied to and ripped off.

I cannot be more thankful to have called Payless Cesspool and speak to Jimmy for a second opinion! Jimmy was so nice, respectful, personable, and funny! He did not take advantage of me and my husband being young, naive first time homeowners. His price was fair/manageable and A LOT lower than other companies we quoted. He was very responsive and reliable. His son James and his brother in law came and did the work at our house. Jimmy knew how concerned we were that our driveway and back yard would be demolished within the process since we have a tight narrow property. Jimmy assured us his crew would be as careful as they could. Jimmy came to see our property one day then came with his crew another day to assess the project. Jimmy gave us advice on steps we could take and buy ply wood to help protect our cobblestones. Actually caring about your customers and giving suggestions goes a LONG way and says a lot about a person. My husband was so impressed with how smooth the project went and how careful they worked in our 40x100 property. They were done within 3.5 hours! Like a well oiled machine! Besides the grass which is a given to be gone during this process but an easy fix, way more importantly our driveway and property is still in tact!! I cannot be more thankful to Payless for making this stressful situation so easy, quick and painless. We cannot recommend Payless more!!! THANK YOU JIMMY AND PAYLESS!! You will always have a special place in my heart!

The inevitable happened and I needed my cesspool pumped and aerated. Walter from Payless Cesspool was prompt and courteous. He had to first find my cesspool, on a very hot day, and always smiled while working and answering my questions. He described everything I didn't know about cesspools, showing and explaining every step he did. Price was fair and I will call Payless and Walter for future needs and cesspool maintenance.

Awful!! Quoted 350, then charged 1275.00 after the job was done without mentioning the increase. I called around to all competitors, they all say what was done should have not been more than 500.00 after explaining the invoice. They are thieves!!
Will be contacting consumer affairs and making a complaint.

I had two dealings with Payless.... A year ago Walter came, found our pool and pumped it out - he was super courteous and professional. A year later - 3 weeks ago - I called and spoke with Jim to get a quote for a whole new system. I had at least 4 more conversations with Jim over the next two weeks - he visited our house while I was away to look over what we needed. He called me on a Sunday afternoon to again go over the project. I never felt rushed or pushed, but rather felt like I was talking to a person who cared about my families needs for our house. Jimmy got us on the schedule and his crew showed up the day he said they would. Over the course of a few hours, his entire crew along with his son, showed incredible skill with machinery, communication like a well oiled machine, and took incredible care to keep our driveway intact and installed a brand new system. The excavator on his crew used grass and a tarp like a surgeon to prevent damage to pavers on the driveway - I was so impressed with the care and skill his crew used and give them my highest recommendation. If you ever need work done for a cesspool/septic Jimmy and the Payless crew will go beyond your expectations - and the price was better than any other quote I received from 3 other companies. Jimmy - Thank you again for all of your time and energy.

If I could give this company less than one star it would make this review more accurate. We had an issue with a backup in a waste line which caused the toilet to not empty completely. Called Payless (thinking a local company would take better care of local customers than some other company in another zip code). I was wrong!! They showed up, fixed the problem (or so we thought, at a cost of over $800.00 for less than 2hrs work). Two days later we had the toilet back up into the tub!!! Called them again and was informed by a nasty woman in the office that ""the boss"" said that despite the fact that they were just here for that same problem, the job wasn't ""guaranteed"" because our pipes were ""crimped"" and the worker couldn't get complete access to the clog. Funny how that inability to reach the obstruction and fixing the issue didn't stop them from charging top dollar for half-assed work! We called RotoRooter and the clog was completely cleared within half an hour of arrival. I guess they have tools that magically move through ""crimped pipes""! Avoid these charlatans at all costs!

Came to pump my pool and told me that it was collapsed and that I needed to have a new one installed ASAP and they would not guarantee there work. Called in another company that told me the pool was fine and that they pumped out water but no solid material. In the end they tried to hard cell me into a new $4000.00 dollar system with scare tactics and lies. Sent a camera into to pool and have proof that it is not collapsed. Sneaky and unprofessional.... never use them.

Amazing!!! Couldn't thank them enough all was going great today doing wash, toilets flushing fine then the toilet wouldn't go down. My dad checked it tried snaking it nothing was happening. Dad said we have to call my parents have been in there house for 32 years no problems. Dad found the paper saw a listing for Payle$$ Cesspool and called they were here in not even 20 minutes! We were nervous as we are having a NYE party that we might not get seen but they were quick and reliable!! The gentleman that came was hands down the best even with my dad asking questions and watching. Highly recommend and can't say thank you enough!!!

Jim did a wonderful job replacing our cesspool. He was very knowledgeable, patient with our many questions, and efficient. Our patio was swept, and the yard was returned to its original state. We highly recommend him!!

this was my first experience having to deal with a cesspool problem. I've lived in my home 12 years and didn't have a problem until this week. Since my sister, who also lives in Patchogue, told me she uses them all the time and they are reasonable and professional, I called on sunday. I spoke with Jimmy the owner and he couldn't have been nicer. He listened to my needs and arranged to have his son, James come this morning to fix my problem. James was not only professional and knowledgeable, but a very polite young man and a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend this company as they care and are willing to be as much help to you as they can be.
