I had a great experience with this company, and working with Eli in particular. So much so that I had him come back to fix some additional issues. He has the qualities that I appreciate in a contractor - he's knowledgeable, honest about the issue, doesn't talk down to you for not knowing the intricacies of his craft, and doesn't try to upsell you or give the impression that if you don't fix part X you're doomed.

I received evaluations from two other plumbing companies for my Noritz tankless water heater before going with Original Westwood Plumbing. The first company had no idea what they were doing. The second company gave me the doom-and-gloom recommendation, even suggesting that I spend $7K to replace the entire unit, despite it only being 4 years old.

Eli was able to quickly evaluate the issue, provide affordable options, and then fix said issue.

For those on the fence about using this company, I want to address some of the one-star reviews. Most of the one-star ratings seem to result from denial of coverage from First American Home Warranty. I too have a warranty with this company, and while I may have lucked out (they accepted liability for the issue), it's easy to see why people start rage-posting if they expect something to be covered but isn't. Covered or not, this isn't an issue with Original Westwood Plumbing - it's a decision made by your home warranty. You can always appeal and get a second opinion from another contractor.

Some of the reviews also complain about scheduling or the contractor not reaching out. Not going to lie - I also had this problem initially, and when you don't have hot water, the frustration likely compounds. But also keep in mind that this is a small family-owned business. Once Eli and I started a text exchange, scheduling was a breeze. No calling into dispatch or super long arrival windows. I would just send him a text to schedule, and if he was running late, he would let me know. He was even cool with coming out and starting a repair while I was out grocery shopping.

Finally, Eli was masked up the entire time. I've had a lot of contractors in and out this past year, and many will try to pull down their mask and cough all over your house the second you turn the corner. He kept his mask on the entire time, which I know is important for some.

Westwood replaced my tankless water heater the day before Thanksgiving in 2018. Was so impressed with Eli and his diligence --he stayed still about 10pm on Thanksgiving eve. He did an awesome job . I'm giving him 5 stars ...but I chased up for an invoice immediately after the job was done (it was late so Eli promised to send me the email the next day) and to date I have not received the invoice I need so I can get my rebate from the gas company. I have tried to call and email on and off since November 2018. But no response ! Maybe it's too late after more than 2 years?
