James spent a good deal of time on a Sunday evening explaining some very complicated shut off procedures for me and offered to connect me with the right person for my job (fire sprinkler leak). What an awesome guy and someone who seems to really care about the job and the customer. I have not had anyone help me out just out of the kindness of their heart for a long while. You don't see really great customer service too much anymore and I can say without a doubt that I would recommend James without hesitation.

I never thought I would feel strongly enough to write about a plumber, but when you find a good one - the world should know. James is great. He is very responsive and does honest work. Its actually crazy how uncommon that is.

James of Encinitas Plumbing and Drain came into a major plumbing overhaul I was doing on my house when my original plumber failed. James walked into a mess of poorly aligned piping, leaks behind the wall, wrong pipe size stub-outs, etc. and was left to clean-up the mess. He also did a major rework of pipework in my converted garage to move gas lines and water lines behind the wall. He replaced my dishwasher and fixed my natural gas stub-outs in several places on my house. Because of the timeline of my overall project, James had to visit my house at least half a dozen times. He was great. He would come in the evening if his day was too busy, but he always made time for me when I needed him most. The first time James came to my house I was literally in tears because of the money and time I had wasted on multiple prior plumbers (Plumbing and Drain Solutions and Bill Howe). James also used his connections and relationships with parts dealers to get me parts fast and at a great price. James has a real focus on the end product, and made sure all of my fixtures were aligned properly and looked good on and off. He really went the extra mile. Thanks, James! Oh, and if James can't make it to you for some reason, he has some great references for people that can - which to me is proof that his customers come first if he's trusting enough to give his peers the occasional job.

When James didn't confirm the morning of our appt (as he told me he would), and didn't show up or call as it neared the end of the 12-2 scheduled time, I called him to see what was up. Was told he was running late and would ""call in an hour to hour and 1/2"". That was Friday. Still no call. I hope he's not hospitalized or worse as that would be the only excuse to completely disregard a potential customer. He may be the best plumber ever (according to the 5 star reviews), but his customer service skills & communication are lacking.

Long story made short, this guy is the man. Been looking for a plumber for a while, and tried him out with a problem that's been plaguing all of our neighbors as well. He understood the stench situation, and knew how to fix it. I am not looking forward to our next plumbing issue, but when it does happen, I will call James.

I've used this company a couple of times (originally selected based on Yelp reviews) in the past month and I have to say it has been a fantastic experience both times. The first was to fix a clogged drain, James had someone to my house within an hour and the job was completed for a very reasonable price. The second call was due to a toilet running - my hubby had replaced the offending part yet we were still having issues. James was over within a half hour and determined the problem was a lousy replacement part. He replaced it with one of a better quality and just charged me for the part, saying it was too easy a job to charge me for labor! I absolutely would use them again, their customer service and repair quality has been excellent!

James was friendly, helpful, and actually turned down chances I gave him to do work he didn't think was necessary. I really thought one drain would needed to be snaked, but he was so sure it didn't need to be done, that if I have problems in the next 3 months with it, he'll do it for practically nothing. You got to appreciate someone who saves his customers' money even if it means he doesn't make as much.

There is a world of difference between a handyman and someone who is a plumber. I have a great handyman, but he and a few others have tried to fix one of my sinks and James quickly located and replaced the real problem. It was simple, but he knew the problem immediately.

My wife, kids, and dog all liked James. We will definitely call him again when we have any plumbing issues.

Super fast, super friendly, super affordable, super knowledgeable, just super!!!! We had a water heater go out so I googled an authorized service center for our particular model. I honestly thought the repair process would be lengthy and/or frustrating as this industry in general seems to lack a good reputation. Luckily I found Encinitas Plumbing & Drain! I gave them a call the next morning & was greeted with an amazingly friendly voice on the the line who said he could be at our home in 20 minutes! Seriously? Yes! James, the owner, showed up at our home with the most upbeat and friendly attitude and tended to our heater within minutes. He also checked our other water heater and fixed a non-related issue in our kitchen giving me great advice and understanding of the issues we were having. He NEVER tried to up-sell and in fact, he recommended holding off on any costly ""maintenance"" deeming it unnecessary. We won't ever use anyone else as long as this business is around. James should be commended on his honesty, knowledge, professionalism, friendliness, and prices. I highly recommend James and his company and look forward to having him work on a few other projects with us as well.... 5 stars isn't even enough for Encinitas Plumbing & Drain! Thanks James!!
