Northstar and specifically Frank and Greg, rebuilt our HVAC system for us and did an outstanding job. The quality of the workmanship was above expectation. Frank installed ventilation in four rooms that had none. He was so careful that we didn't even need to patch the sheetrock. Frank also sealed the floor around the existing furnace incase our water heater or anything else leaks.
Ivan (who scoped our project) was creative and fair.
Everything was thoughtfully done. I was consulted and really appreciated being able to provide input to make the system ideal for us. Frank and Greg have great attitudes. They're highly conscientious (better than almost any service professional who has come here). They are true professionals and a joy to work with. We received real value and will work with Northstar from now on.

Just had my Air Conditioning replaced by Northstar. Rick came out to do a repair on my 23 year old unit. After checking unit out, he explained why it was not working and basically needed to be replaced
He then gave me several differant options and ways to go . I decided to go ahead and do replacement with him. It was installed 2 days later. It is
now completed and seems to be working great
Rick was professional, as were the whole team. I also had the company do an additional plumbing repair. I am happy with the completed work.
It also came with a 3 year protection plan. Other companies only offered a one year protection plan.
Than you Rick and Team for great service!!

My AC recently stopped blowing cold air, so I scheduled an appt with Northstar to perform a diagnostic. Upon arrival of the technician, Joshua I explained to him that my unit is only 4-5 years old and it was installed by a good friend on mine whos a licensed contractor and works for another Air conditioning company. Without hesitation, Joshua, the technician, questioned why I called his company and not my friend who installed my AC unit. I explained to him that not only does my friend live far from me but that he was booked out in advance, and it would be awhile before he can get out to my house.
From the moment Joshua walked into my house, he right away was commenting on all things ""wrong"" with my unit, yet still no diagnosis as to why my AC wasn't blowing cold air. He went on for a good 10-15 minutes just ranting about how my AC unit was installed incorrectly , how it was dirty, and how the unit was way too big for my house. He then proceeds to tell me that he can not perform the diagnostic until he ""corrects"" and relocates some wiring that he claims were hanging too low to the fan. Mind you, this will cost $300 before he can even give me a diagnosis on my unit. According to Joshua, this was a safety issue . I said ok let me consult with my friend by phone (the person who installed my AC) and let you explain to him what you need to do and see what thinks I should do. Here is why I felt this review was necessary. Joshua was aggressively questioning me and asking what my reasoning was for consulting with my friend. He goes on to tell me that if I felt he was not trustworthy, then why did I call his company in the first place. He asked me where I heard about his company, and I answered ""yelp."" Then he asked me what the reviews said (what????) I'm literally lost of words at that point. He then again proceeds to ask once again why I called them and not my friend who installed the unit. I explained to the tech that if he was not OK with me getting my friend on the phone then he can leave because I didn't want to waste either of our time The fact he continued to question why I needed to consult with someone before agreeing to $300 to move some wiring back in place is absurd. What business is it of his who I consult with. I eventually call my friend, and Joshua explains to him what his next steps were and the cost to move the weiring. My friend respectfully disagrees with the price to move the wires, and Joshua being upset he had to throw in a couple of jabs towards my friend before ending the call (RUDE!!!)commenting how the unit he installed wasn't installed properly and how it was oversized.
The nerve of this guy is rude , unprofessional, and disrespectful. Who goes into someone's home and intimidate them, especially a female. The cost for this diagnostic was $59. Which was never done because I would not agree with the $300 charge to move some wires.
Well, Joshua, I may not have read the reviews prior to my appt, but I do hope that people read mine and think twice before calling Northstar.
Last but not least , I called the office twice and requested a phone call from the Mgr (Jack), and he has yet to call me back.

Earlier this week my main panel circuit breaker for my AC unit was constantly tripping after turning on for a few minutes. So I replaced the breaker and everything worked fine. I also had Northstar as my back up plan if that did not fix the issue. I still had Northstar come at the end of the week to check the system and flush things out.
As an Engineer and Contract Manager, I enjoy watching and learning about how to check systems and potential repair things. Edwin G. was my tech for the day and was very kind nice and on time. He walked me through his process and showed me the status of my system. At the end of the inspection the unit was working properly but there were somethings that he recommended to look out for. Considering his honesty and the general service that was provided I decided to join their 4 year service and maintenance plan and see how we go from there. But I would recommend them.

We needed to have our furnace and compressor replaced after 30 years of service. David came out to our house and gave us all the options we had available.
After picking the perfect unit for our house Frank and his crew came out and did a great job on the install. They were all great at there job and worked very clean.
Vacuuming up etc.
I would highly recommend them to anyone needing their services.

Our air conditioning went out in our home. It was 100 degrees out, and every A/C company we called was booked. We called Northstar and they had a tech that could come out the same day, so we agreed. Rich came out and diagnosed our system. He explained that our compressor was seized, and our condenser was shot. He told us he might be able to band aid fix it for $6000, but didn't expect it to last more than a few days at best. He offered a system for $13k, and due to a miraculous turn of events, they could move things around and install it tomorrow. It didn't seem right, so I hired another company for a second opinion. They came out and explained that the capacitor had failed, and we had a minor leak, as we were slightly low on Freon. He recommended sealant, top off of the Freon, and a new capacitor. He said it will definitely last the summer, and they will come out in springtime to check Freon levels. If it holds, we have a few years. If it is low by springtime, he recommend we replace at that time. About 90 minutes later, our A/C is blowing ice cold for a $700 repair. So this begs the question...was Rich from Northstar incompetent, or dishonest? He made a point to reiterate several times that he was not a salesman, but rather a technician that has 35 years experience as he's been doing this since he was 13. You be the judge.

David Garcia came out in no time at all in the middle of a heat wave when our air went out. The next day, they had installed a new unit and Andrew came by today and rerouted the drain line to our P-trap. What amazing service. Would recommend Northstar without reservation!

One star for a timely arrival.
I always get three quotes before any work is performed. Northstar was the 1 of three quotes. The unit was not putting out cold air but functioning. I was told by Andrew R that I NEEDED a full system replacement. He was very persistent with different price point options and when I said NO, he said that he would put everything back as it was. I had to call the company for him to come back out to put the system back on online as it was prior to his arrival. He needed to go in the attic and showed up without a ladder. He had failed to reconnect something in the attic and outside. The cost of a new system that I was told I needed was ranging from $14k to $22k. Other companies did not charge to inspect the unit and indicated I only needed a new compressor, condenser and some Freon. The cost to repair from two other companies is 1/5 of what I was quoted I needed. In addition Andrew commented to my fiancé that I don't take no mess. Sure don't!! I was born in the day but not yesterday!! I know BS when I hear it!

My tech Andrew R. Came out and brought my AC up to factory Change. He was very knowledgeable, explained everything thoroughly. Great customer service! Highly recommended!!

Update: July 1st... Month later and $10k new unit not blowing cold air as summer has set in and heat is upon us.
