Prompt service, excellent installation, and great customer service. They may have been a little pricier but I'm so glad I supported a family owned business! They are going above and beyond for me in these horrible times and I appreciate it so much! Worth every penny!

One of the most dishonest or incompetent technicians this company has. I hired this about 2 weeks ago to come out and perform a diagnosis on my AC unit since it stopped working. They sent their senior technician Tommy Garcia and inspected the unit and according to his inspection it was the AC compressor unit and since it is an old unit over 16 years old and with R-22 refrigerant, he said that they cannot fix it because they don't make this brand replacement parts and that R-22 refrigerant is banded from using and that we would need to replace the entire AC compressor unit. This would cost approximately $7,700. He also said that my furnace was already showing signs deterioration and I should replace this as well and my combined cost would be approximately $12000. I decided to get my insurance involved and open a claim. Well, my insurance did find a replacement part and is willing to pay Northstar $3000 to fix the problem. So, I asked Northstar if they are interested in doing the job and they said that they would check with Tommy (Senior Technician) if they can do the job, 3 days have gone by and no response from Northstar. Since I started to lose faith in Northstar I decided to call IcyHot Heating & Air Conditioning company for a second opinion on my unit and if they would be willing to do the job since Northstar was not sure if they would do the job and no response. IcyHot Heating & Air Conditioning company came to my home and within 10 minutes they found that it was the capacitor that was bad and they replaced it in 5 minutes and my AC unit is now working perfectly. They also inspected my furnace and they found no signs of deterioration. Within 20 minutes with IcyHot Heating & Air Conditioning company I now have AC that I have been missing for 2 weeks and during the hottest time in San Dimas. So, is this company dishonest and all they wanted was to profit tremendously at my expense or is their senior technician that incompetent that did not even check a simple thing like the capacitor? I guess only future customers can answer this question since I will never and I say never will do business with this company. They cost me and my family stress and being uncomfortable with the heat for 2 weeks. A piece of advice for future customers, I know their $20 diagnosis fee is more appealing than other HVAC companies but is it worth getting a bad diagnosis and spend thousands more money than you need to? To the owner of this company and managers, before you dispute my review, I suggest you speak to Tommy and Amy since I have all emails proving what I am stating.

I had Northstar over to repair my downstairs unit about 3 months ago. It already needed another repair. It took them 2 days to get the job done as the technician needed his supervisor to come the next day to walk him through it. They never mentioned to clean my filters and I received a annual service agreement in the mail that i never even heard about. The entire time I heard about how old my units were and how I needed to replace them. The price to do the first repair was $1200 to start with. I am so disappointed in the lack of concern for customer care that they showed. I will not use them again.

Friendly, followed the covid guidelines to show up at my house, and did the job at the same day I called them!! Thank you so much. You only realize AC is (almost) essential when it's 100 degrees outside and it stops working all the sudden. Highly recommend Northstar Plumbing

North Star is very professional. They gave great customer service very punctual and they were done changing out a motor very quickly. Thank you North Star.

Our AC stopped working one evening during a heat wave in July. In the morning I contacted Northstar, and they were able to send a tech the next day. The tech, Doug Brewer, was able to identify the problem (run capacitor failure) but still did a thorough inspection and ran tests on everything else just in case. After he repaired the unit and confirmed it was working properly again, he cleaned it. He was very friendly, and I enjoyed conversing with him while he worked. He answered my numerous questions and shared his technical knowledge. The cost of the repair was nothing unexpected, and because I got a little education from Doug during that time in addition to the repair, I view it as money well spent.

My prior HVAC company that installed my new system was sold to Northstar apparently. I received a call from them of this about a month ago, with their request to come and do some free maintenance/ check up no charge. What we got was a huge waste of our time and this company looking to make a few extra dollars off of me. Two men showed up and did God knows what for an hour, then the main guy comes back into my house to only speak to my husband. He proceeds to tell us our filter needed to be changed ASAP for the price of $178!! And in addition our 2.5 year old system needed frion. In what world does a brand new energy efficient system need frion. What a waste of time and a bunch of crooks looking to take advantage of people during these hard times!

This is the best company...they returned my quickly and Jessica is the most pleasant to work with. Tommy came out and looked my unit over (in a mask and very professional) and let me know that my unit needs updating...he explained what I could do to help the unit last until we can afford the upgrade. Best prices, nicest staff...when we are ready we will be calling you folks. Thanks again....

Jessica (the manager), Ivan (the tech), and the techs that installed my AC unit were all great! I had an old AC unit that needed to be replaced. Within two days, the tech came over to explain what I needed and how much it would be, to the next day having it installed. I live in a townhouse structure so my AC unit was high up on the rooftop (where a crane was necessary to get the old AC down and bring up the new AC unit). They handled it perfectly.
The techs accidentally crossed wires with my thermostat (Ecobee) and burned it out. The next day they came and replaced it with a brand new Ecobee.

I messaged Northstar Saturday morning and I had a serviceman at my house a few hours later. Doug called to let me know he was near my house. When he got here he had on mask due to Covid. He looked at my filter and noticed it was dirty. I had a clean filter and he went ahead and changed it for me.
While he was in the attic, he took the time to take pictures of all of the a/c parts so he could explained what needed to be done to get my air conditioner working. Everything he said made sense especially in light of what he showed me in the pictures. He sat down and worked out a plan for me and gave me different options.
Doug was friendly and I felt no pressure to have extra work done. He was helpful and I was presented reasonable options and prices. I would highly recomment Northstar to a friend. I will use them for any future air conditioning needs.
