Carrie is an amazing plumber--hard-working, dedicated, good diagnostician, a one woman dynamo! She mapped out my very convoluted old 1952 rancher plumbing and re-routed new pipes, water heater and gas lines to my cottage. She also diagnosed improperly placed gas lines and defunctionalized them saving us from a potentially dangerous leaking time bomb. She placed a nice gas outlet for a barbecue, took great pains to take up our patio tiles in the proper order making it really easy for the tile to replace and level later after the excavation. She put in extra garden spigots. She coordinated electrician and roofing repair. The work was done close to budget and within 7 weeks. She came back to fix water overflow valve that wasn't correct for the county and also rerouted flow to my lawn irrigation saving it from certain death. She is amazing! I plan to hire her again when I update the main house pipes. Girl Power! Better than any male contractor I've ever worked with.

We needed have a repipe job done on our house. Called a few places. Did get a few quotes but also surprised many didn't even call back or show up. Nelson plumbing did call back a couple days after I left message. Carrie was helpful and listened to my concerns about flacky plumbers. She arrived on time for inspection and within a couple days received an estimate. During inspection she was very clear about what work they do and materials used. The quote was one of the higher ones but not the highest. But we really like her explaining the workmanship and materials they used and went with Nelson. Every thing went as she said it would on time. Even heard city inspector mention what good work they did. That made us feel much better. Carrie and her crew were friendly, clean, informative, thru the install. Not the cheapest but definitely worth what we paid. I have already recommended them to a friend. I would and will use Nelson again.

Asked for a quote for gas line installation. Its been two weeks since she visited my place to give me an estimate, but she still hasnt sent the quote. Very unprofessional.

We needed to replace our sewer line outside of our home and the drain lines under the house. We opted for Nelson Plumbing because they were willing to dig a new trench to correct the original sewer line that was poorly installed. We also needed to replace the original drain lines under the house which had started to corrode. Carrie and her brother were very thorough during the estimate and, unlike some plumbers, actually went under the house to inspect for the estimate. They also wrote a clear and easy to understand estimate that spelled out what they were installing and what materials they were using. We had them install a second clean out at the sidewalk (per code) and put in a new 2-way cleanout next to the house. Under the house, they corrected the slope of the drain system to improve the flow and replaced the bathtub waste overflow drain. They pulled the permits and scheduled the inspection ahead of time so there were no delays. The cleaned up every night and we were only without plumbing for a few hours on day 3 and day 4. Regarding the landscaping: they efficiently removed a 5 foot tall rosemary bush that had grown into the sewer line and excavated around the gas main in our front yard. They carefully removed the sod and reinstalled it. And they compacted the soil to 95%.
We also had them repair a small drywall hole under the sink that had been left by a previous plumber during an emergency repair.
Throughout all of this, they answered our questions (some of them multiple times), were thoughtful and steady working. Their parents also pitched in - truly a family business.
One note: because this was done in the summer, they were very busy and there were times were we had to wait to hear back from them. This happened during the estimate phase - once we were on their schedule things proceeded much more smoothly. Because this is a family business they don't use a separate sales staff to answer your calls - just keep that in mind.

I had a major water crisis! I had the main water service pipe to my house rupture. I needed to have the water company shut off the water and as a result we had no running water to the house. It was absolute disaster! Not having had this happen before - I had to call around to get different quotes and understand how they would fix the problem. After a number of calls and assorted quotes I had stumbled upon Carrie at Nelson Plumbing. After a few minutes I got the immediate sense that not only did she knew exactly what she was doing but she was very honest. I didn't necessarily always get that feeling from other plumbing companies when I called them through Yelp.
Unfortunately, she was tied up with a job up in Walnut Creek for the next couple of days. However, within a day or two she had come by the house to connect a temporary water hose from the water outlet to the house so that we could get running water to shower and flush our toilets! It was a god-send and greatly appreciated!
When she became available in the next day or two she and her brother had come by and worked to install a new copper water pipe. They minimized the amount of concrete that they needed to cut and dug the rest of the way to install the line.
What I can say is that she and her brother did an excellent job in a short amount of time with extremely competitive pricing. To boot - she and her brother are very nice people!
I'm quite surprised that she is not at top of the yelp search for ""plumbing""! If you have an plumbing problem she should be the first person on your list to call!

Very very nice and helpful.I was dumb and broke the water hose with my car. I called around lunch time and Carrie was the only few that answered back right away. She gave me a free quote and did the job very quick. Not only was the price fair but she was very insightful with helping me try to prevent this from happening again. She also gave me pointers about other small things she noticed around the house. Very nice and helpful. I would recommend her to anyone.

First of all, I rarely take the time to write a review, but Carrie really deserves the effort. I hired her to put in a new gas line for our new range that we had installed last week. Carrie is a delight to work with. Very reliable, courteous & professional. When the San Jose inspector came to check things out (after she pulled the permits for us!) he was in and out of here in under 5 minutes. I commented that he had an easy job. His response was, ""I wish all of my inspections were this easy."" In my book that says a lot. Everything was done to code and passed with flying colors. She and her brother Chris were careful to put down drop cloths throughout the pathway between our meter and the crawl space. They cleaned up after themselves, and worked around our maids who just happened to be scheduled the same time as the inspection and installation. I now have my plumber for every occasion moving forward, and I can't recommend her enough!

Had an emergency plumbing issue at home (8PM, 2/10/2016), and called Carrie for help (after searching plumbing services from Yelp). She responded my call right away, and asked me a few pictures of the ""situation"". Then she got back to me explaining that she could be back the next morning cause she needs to get the special part. She showed up 9:00 AM in the morning, and fixed our problem. She was explaining in details what went wrong, and what we need to do prevent the same incident in future. Very happy and satisfied with the service!!

Craftsmanship takes time.
Carrie & team recently did the copper re-pipe for our whole house. Everything they did was high quality! We chose Nelson Plumbing to do the work because of their focus on the details, willingness to take time to answer all our questions & referral from a good friend.
Carrie did much of the work herself. The project went smoothly. She really minimized the amount of time that the water was shutoff, and everyday they cleaned up and left the house in the same state (or cleaner) than they found it.
We're very satisfied with the quality of the work! And our ""new"" water pressure is phenomenal.

So much respect and appreciation for Carrie and company. They tackled an extremely challenging water heater and filtration project with such professionalism it was truly amazing. Highly recommend this company!
