After the cold snap, the pipe to our water main burst and we had a waterfall down our driveway. I wasn't sure if people who do indoor plumbing also do outdoor plumbing, and I'm happy to say that Nelson Plumbing can do both extremely well.
Carrie hooked a hose up between our home bib line thingy and the water main so she could turn off the leaking pipe. Carrie and PJ came back and replaced the pipe, and it was not a short distance, and it had to go through lots of roots. Even though I told them which plants they could sacrifice, PJ was very careful to save them. They were very careful to remove the sod and put it back. he only beings not happy were the birds and squirrels who didn't like the interlopers in their backyard.

Finding a good plumber is as important as finding a good dentist and I wish I had read reviews on my last dentist before going in for a cleaning but that's besides the point. I called Nelson Plumbing about a water heater issue we were having at Second Harvest Food Bank, I left a message and within ten minutes got a call back! The customer service was excellent! I got a quote right away. Their attention to detail and efficiency really rings true to the core of their business and they make you feel like a part of their family. The job was completed correctly, on time and within budget.

Bottom Line: You cant go wrong choosing Nelson Plumbing to do the work you need done.

Nelson plumbing- a family business that treats its customers like family. Carrie and Master Plumber dad, Richard, did a masterful job re-piping our home. They were quick to get back to us when there was a need and Carrie's honesty and professionalism were impeccable. A Big Thumbs up!

We were really happy with a recent service that we had done by Nelson Plumbing. We had a problem in which hot water was coming out of our cold faucets---nothing but hot water in the whole house. Evidently, a valve had broken that was allowing the hot water to basically take over all of the plumbing. We called Nelson plumbing, it was late in the evening, mind you, and they came over pretty quickly---nice. The plumbers (Carrie and PJ) came and promptly got to work. They were also very good at explaining the process to us so that we didn't feel that we were being misled or taken advantage of. In a relatively short amount of time they fixed the problem and the proper flow of cold and hot water was restored. To boot, their pricing was very fair given the amount of physical labor that went into it (a lot of banging on pipes). Carrie and PJ were very personable and I wouldn't hesitate to hit them up again for future plumbing needs. I definitely recommend as they are straightforward, reasonable, and very good on quality work. Thanks guys!!

I began the re-piping of our home, with a recommendation (from our plumber), about Nelson Plumbing. In turn, I'd like to make a recommendation to anyone considering having their home re-piped. If you want to shop around, go ahead, but if you want to save time start with Nelson Plumbing. You will not be disappointed. From the first visit, through quotation, scheduling, permits, promptness, cleanliness, materials, and just getting the job done right you'll realize Carrie and PJ have set the bar high for themselves.

My home is over 50 yrs. old. The water was looking 'rusty', there was grit in the faucet filters and shower head, and water pressure was seriously lacking. Bottom line, the galvanized pipes and water heater needed replacing.

Working as a team, PJ in the basement and Carrie working the areas where the galvanized entered the house and into the kitchen, bar, and bathroom, they carefully removed sheetrock and exposed areas, behind the walls, and replaced every inch of galvanized, with copper, and installed a new water heater to meet city codes and earthquake standards. The walls were tape & textured to match the existing walls and the old water heater and piping were all removed for disposal.

And, we now have water pressure in the entire house and clean water!

All work areas, where there was carpet and/or wood floors, were covered with tarps AND at the end of the day, removed and then vacuumed!

If you want peace of mind that the job will be done right -- the first time, at a fair price, then give Nelson Plumbing a call.

My water line has leaked for several months adding $100 per month to my bill. I had one outfit out to fix the problem and they installed a line around a big birch tree that appeared to be the problem stopping the line at the driveway. The line that that was replaced was plastic and it was replaced with soft copper. I was told that the meter showed no usage after the fix but nobody showed me. Checking the next day, the meter was still leaking with the meter turning constantly while the water to the house and sprinkler systems were shut off. Perhaps the problem had been fixed, perhaps not. I still had a leak and the original outfit just checked their work to see if it was OK and left me hanging.

Going to Bay Area Checkbook, I reaching Nelson Plumbingh on a referral from a plumber listed who said Nelson was someone who did ""underground"" work. PJ and Carrie of Nelson came out one hour after I called, tested the meter by capping it and tested the shutoff to the house to make sure the leak was between the meter and the house. It was.

Upon returning from work the next day for lunch, they had already burrowed under the driveway, confirmed that the pipe from the meter to the driveway did not leak, hooked up the pipe under the driveway and tested the system. Eureka !! the meter stopped finally and my leak was gone!!

Everyone to whom I had talked said I should cut a section out of a new, very expensive concrete driveway incurring substantial cost and damaging an important component of the appearance of the front of the house. Nelson Plumbing in one day avoided the and the cost was significantly than any other option. The water company, when they checked the meter, indicated that it would be very expensive to go under the driveway and that I did not have the room to do that anyway. After getting a lot of bad advice and worrying about how to fix the problem, Nelson Plumbing fixed the problem in one day. Amazing. They are nice folks to work with also.

Living in a rental property in Campbell, Ca. we received several months of high water bills. We realized that there was a leak in our main water line coming into the house. Dreading the cost and mess of the repair because our line was under a concrete courtyard, we called several plumbers for a quote. After having many plumbers out to quote the work, we were still having a hard time finding someone that we actually felt confident about. Not only were we looking for a fair price, we were looking for an experienced and thorough plumber that we felt would do the absolute best work. By chance we found Nelson Plumbing. After meeting Carrie and PJ we knew that we had made the best choice. They were able to run the new water line underneath the existing concrete, saving us the mess and the cost associated with having to break it up. There work was not only professional but neat. You can tell by watching them work that they take a lot of pride in what they do and how they do it. They absolutely went the extra mile to make sure that we were 100% satisfied. I am extremely satisfied by the service I received from Nelson Plumbing. I had a small emergency as the water pipe in the front of my home burst and water was bubbling up through the sidewalk. It was late in the day but they came out that afternoon, assessed the problem, gave me a fair quote, and showed up early the next day to do the job.

It turned out that the 50 year old water pipe from the meter to my house was almost completely disintegrated. I think the soil around it was the only thing holding it together. Also, the inside diameter of the pipe had shrunk due to mineral deposits. By replacing it I noticed a small increased in water pressure and a definite decrease in my water bill (must have been leaking underground for some time).

Replacement of the pipe was definitely long overdue and the job was completed by that afternoon. They also replaced a few additional parts to my outdoor spigot and did a nice clean-up afterwards. I highly recommend Nelson Plumbing.

Passionate about plumbing! That is what Carrie and PJ are about their profession. They recently re-piped our entire house (a 7-day job) and we found them to be extremely hard-working, very professional and reasonably priced (even cheaper than others). Tidy and neat as well, they clean up after each day. With their excellent customer service they really do everything they can to make sure you're a satisfied customer. One thing that everyone faces when it comes to plumbing issues is the fear of how bad the problem's can be. This is definitely one thing Carrie and PJ take care of first for you. They make you feel comfortable right at the start.

The biggest fears of repiping is not knowing how the piping was orginaly done and of course the walls coming down to expose the piping that needs to be fixed. Nelson's Plumbing did a fabulous job putting these fears aside. Unlike cheap joe-schmoe types, they didn't hammer out and rip the drywall off the studs to expose the pipes, but rather carefully and precisely cut cleanly the appropriate amount needed to expose the pipes and do the work needed to repipe. No extra custs were needed.

In addition to that, when they were done with the job, our walls looked exactly the same as they did (minus the paint) prior to the job. Our drywall is tectured as well, and they did a superb job on making it look exactly as it did before.

They're very courteous and careful with their work. They respect your home and make sure they take the proper care to make sure it's exactly the same before they got there (with the plumbing work fixed).

You can't put a price on peace of mind, and that's something Nelson Plumbing gives you for your plumbing needs.
