We recently hired Nelson Plumbing to do a difficult re-piping job on our San Carlos home and couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Completely trustworthy from start to finish. The main water supply pipe into our house sprang a leak in an area congested with huge roots from our beloved heritage tree. Carrie came out and investigated the problem, giving us free estimates for two options: a straightforward repair of the old pipe, or a full replacement pipe from curbside to the house, upgrading to a 1"", Type L copper pipe and rerouting to avoid the problem area. She took time to clearly explain the proposed work, present the pluses and minuses of each option and answer our many questions. Nelson's estimate beat those of two competitors and impressed by our first contact, we chose them to do the full replacement.

Ethical. The job turned out to be more complex and time consuming than originally projected, mostly due to the steep and rocky terrain. However, Nelson stuck to their original estimate and worked diligently, going above and beyond to creatively solve problems and provide superior quality work. For example: where the pipe went through jagged, rocky ground, they took the trouble to install a protective sleeve around the copper, even though it's not required by code.

Hardworking. Carrie and PJ were amazing, they kept working at full speed until the job was finished. Despite setbacks encountered while cutting through bedrock, working on a steep incline and rainy weather, they kept on going and going ... The jobsite was always made safe and tidy at the end of the day and they took great pains to minimize any disturbance of our plants and property.

Nice people. From our very first phone call Carrie and PJ were delightful. It was a pleasure doing business with them. We highly recommend Nelson Plumbing.

It seems the drain path from our kitchen sink/dishwasher and our washing mashine came together in a ""Y"" joint, after which it went on to join the drain system leading to the sewer. That joint failed and water was leaking heavily under the house in the crawlspace. Evidently it had been doing so for a long time (and we did not know it) as water was pooled under the house and flies were everywhere. It was obvious we had a problem so I looked and YELP and called Nelson plumbing. They came out the next day.

The husband and wife team from Nelson Plumbing came to the house and all I can say is that they were TOTAL PROFESSIONALS. They worked together as a team on this job did an OUTSTANDING job. They were VERY CLEAN having laid protective tarps from the entrance to our house, down the hall and into the closet where the entrance to the crawl space is located. As a result, it looked as though not a speck of dirt was carried onto the carpeting. The were VERY easy to talk to and explained everything they did in advance. I would recommend them highly as I am completely and totally satisfied with the work they did.

I had a water supply line to a toilet break flooding about 1/4 of my house. I called Nelson Plumbing at 8:00 am and PJ was at my home in a little bit over an hour! I had old plastic valves and supply lines to the bathroom sink and two toilets. PJ spent about an hour and one half replacing everything, he did an excellent job, and cleaned up thoroughly. This was the best, stress free home repair I've had done in 26 years of home ownership, and their repair rates are great too!

Had another job, pipe started leaking in the back and the shutoff valve wouldn't work. Carrie came over after another job and fixed it up perfectly. I'm not kidding when I say it is now better than when they built the house!

Great new copper pieces that shut the water off easily. I can't say enough good things about them.

We had a leak on the line between the house and water meter. Our regular plumber doesn't handle these kind of problems but recommended Nelson Plumbing.Called them and Carrie was able to come out the same day.

Carrie did an excellent job in all aspects of the job. She was very meticulous digging out the dirt to uncover the leak, making the fix, and also while putting back the dirt and plants. After she was done you couldn't tell that there had been a problem.

Highly recommended and would definitely use them again.

I wish I know the Nelson Plumbing earlier before I called the Mr. Rooter for the emergency services.
Neighbor's car hit my tree in the front yard & broke the water pipe during the midnight. Mr. Rooter came over for temp emergency, but left the huge quotation for the water pipe replacement.
Glad I found the Nelson Plumbing, their price is much reasonable. Carrie & PJ done the excellent job within 2 days. Now my front yard looks even better than before.

Carrie and PJ took our call over the weekend (on vacation, no less) and came to our house bright and early Monday morning to replace a broken pipe from our house to the street connection. Their quote was right on the money and competitve ($1700 for the whole job) and they got right to work. After a tremendous amount of digging, root saving, and careful and diligent work, the connection was replaced, all leaks stopped, and a day and a half had passed. They could have finished faster, but PJ wanted to do the street connection in daylight to ensure it was done right. Good show, Nelson Plumbing!

After the cold snap, the pipe to our water main burst and we had a waterfall down our driveway. I wasn't sure if people who do indoor plumbing also do outdoor plumbing, and I'm happy to say that Nelson Plumbing can do both extremely well.
Carrie hooked a hose up between our home bib line thingy and the water main so she could turn off the leaking pipe. Carrie and PJ came back and replaced the pipe, and it was not a short distance, and it had to go through lots of roots. Even though I told them which plants they could sacrifice, PJ was very careful to save them. They were very careful to remove the sod and put it back. he only beings not happy were the birds and squirrels who didn't like the interlopers in their backyard.

A++++ service, A+++++ work, and they're really neat people.

Finding a good plumber is as important as finding a good dentist and I wish I had read reviews on my last dentist before going in for a cleaning but that's besides the point. I called Nelson Plumbing about a water heater issue we were having at Second Harvest Food Bank, I left a message and within ten minutes got a call back! The customer service was excellent! I got a quote right away. Their attention to detail and efficiency really rings true to the core of their business and they make you feel like a part of their family. The job was completed correctly, on time and within budget.
