I am so disappointed. I had used My Plumber in the past and had no problems. Well, I called them when a pipe froze in my house.
The plumber got here looked at the area he first quotes me $1,000.00!!!
I explained I could not afford that he went down to $972.00. I told him that was still to high.
He went down to $700.00. After saying that I was not claiming this on my homeowners insurance the price dropped to $575.00.
I was desperate so I said ok for the work.
After he left I called the company asking for a break down of all charges and an explanation to why the first estimate was at $1,000 and magically dropped close to 50% in less then 8 minutes. Well first im told that the service manager had already left at 4:30pm, but he would be given my information and he would contact me. I expressed my concern over the huge difference. Well no one has ever contacted me.
I did contact my homeowners insurance and the adjuster warned me that companies give an outrageous price in hopes the owner will say yes and use their homeowners insurance. Least my insurance company knows about this company and has made notes so others do not go through this.
So disappointed!!!
I am not pleased with the company. I had a clogged kitchen sink. The plumber arrived on time but took 2.5 hours to fix the clog, and charged over $1,000. That charge is excessive, especially since I was given preliminary estimates of slightly less than $700 or, if I needed a new trap, slightly more than $800. Further, My Plumber never gave me a written bill, detailing the charges: all they send by email is a receipt with the bottom line, with no individual charges. I wouldn't accept this from the car repair dealership, and shouldn't from a plumbing company.
This is for the MY plumber out of Rockville, not sure if they are all owned separately.
Horrible experience. All we needed was the ring under the base to be fixed, so the toilet would not rock and a new float installed. They charged so much for both that it was cheaper to get a new toilet, but the new toilet is a GERBER and SOOOOO cheap!
The plumber came and was rather unprofessional and kept asking personal questions, such as if we had one child, because, wow we had lots of toys. Even went on to ask our child if he had any siblings, etc. Not sure why he was not focusing on his job and instead on the items in our household. He pushed to come back ASAP to install the new toilet, because he couldn't do it right away since he had no stock on his truck. He suggested Monday morning, first appointment, so he ""of course he would be on time then"". He showed up one hour late for that and blamed it on traffic, but when is there not traffic in DC, esp on Monday mornings? In addition to being late, did not bring the toilet with him and had to have a runner bring it. That person was conveniently stuck in traffic as well. He then had to comment on the toys again and point out what a nice day to stay home for me it was. Thanks myplumber, I had to use a half day vacation for you. Should have told him to leave then. The best part is that when bringing in the old and new toilet, he broke our storm door pull!!!
We called the company to report it, someone came to take photos and assess and now we have heard nothing and that was before thanksgiving, so 8 weeks ago. We have called every week since then and the call service says someone will return our call and they never do.
I would avoid my plumber at all costs! I would give it a zero if we could.
Called them for an estimate on some plumbing issues. They arrived on time (the one plus). Walked the plumber through the issues and it was like talking to a wall. He did little besides nod - no conversation, no information provided about what he thought about the issue, nothing. After doing most of the heavy lifting, the plumber walked out to his truck and came back with an estimate. And what an estimate - he wanted to charge me almost $400 for a washer! Took my money and left.
Overall: For a $80 estimate I expect more than a dead fish impersonation, and the 'expert' should know more about the issues than me. Do not recommend. Although they offer to credit the $80 towards repairs, the experience was so bad that I won't even try to schedule another visit. Thumbs down!
Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had, EVER, throughout the entire thing. ZERO stars.
I own a rental property in NoVA but reside across country so I was looking for a trustworthy plumber that could handle the job without oversight. I should have listened to my buildings' Property Manager when she recommended a different company. But I called around a few places for estimates and My Plumber came in low, between $400-800 for an emergent toilet replacement, so I chose them. When I received the quote I specifically asked what would account for the delta between $400-800. I was told it only had to do with what toilet I chose. I requested at that point to have a cheaper model toilet because I did not want to go over $500-550. The gal said the plumber will assess the space, call me to discuss, and an ""equipment runner"" would bring the toilet I chose to him for install.
I get a call from the plumber. He tells me he only has one toilet on his truck. Total cost would be $869. I almost died. I relayed to him what his office told me and he begins to give me this song and dance about how the in-office schedulers don't know what they're talking about and only he can give an estimate after he sees the space. I asked him if there were any issues he had to deal with in the bathroom that was raising the cost. The plumber told me it was a simple toilet replacement and the cost was $869 because of the model of toilet. Of course I said I didn't want his expensive toilet on his truck and demanded an equipment runner bring a cheaper model. After about 20 minutes on the phone with him, listening to him complain about having to wait for an equipment runner to meet him (not my problem!), he told me he'd give me the toilet he had on his truck for a total of $669. Funny how the price dropped by $200 for the same toilet! I reviewed my credit a card info with the plumber and he promised the total charged was $669. At that point it was worth it to me to pay the extra to get that toilet installed for my tenant. But I was not happy.
About two months later I receive a somewhat nasty voicemail from Savanna (spelling?) in accounts payable about how she had to submit info to my credit card company to address the dispute (I supposedly filed) with my credit card company. Funny, I never disputed anything. I called her back immediately and tried to explain just that but Savanna immediately cut me off, got nasty on the phone with me and said ""well, this is the credit card info YOU GAVE us"". I asked her to read me the card number they have on file. It was the same #. So, I offered to call my card company and figure out what was going on. Just then, she read off a different # and realized the plumber charged the wrong card! So, it was a mistake on their end and yet she had the nerve to yell at me over the phone right off the bat without trying to work together to resolve the issue. She apologized and told me she would contact the manager so I could discuss with him a possible rebate for my trouble. SHOCKER, never heard a word from anyone. Then I received the receipt a few weeks later in the mail with no other correspondance what so ever!
All of this to justify my 1 star rating. Worst possible experience ever. I was hoping to find a company that could handle everything for me since I'm not local. Not only did I not find that but it was months worth of headaches!!! Stay away from this place, it's not worth saving a few bucks. Plus, I agree with other reviewers, they are dishonest. Why would I be able to get the same toilet for $200 less?
My son waited at home all morning. He missed work. We were told we would have a plumber by 11am. No one was there by 12:30pm. I told them someone would be home. I gave them our home number. Young people with cell phones do not answer the land line. I neglected to tell my family that it was crucial that they answer the house phone or the plumber would never come. Dealing with a plumbing leak first thing in the morning was stressful enough without making arrangements for the answering of a mandatory phone call before service. The mandatory phone calls came within minutes of my request for service. No plumber was sent because the phone was not answered. This mandatory telephone call is a ridiculous policy. Get in the 21st century. I am very dissatisfied.
My Plumber was recommended by a neighbor. They came promptly, the guy who showed up was knowledgeable, made my repair quickly. As far as the work goes, would recommend 100%, only reservation is that they were expensive.
Rod S.My Plumber came out to fix my AC, and although they fixed it, they charged me $1000 to fix a leak and refill refrigerant coolant in my system. About $50 worth of materials but they charged me $1000 for labor. They were here for about 3 hours. That's VERY expensive !!!! Not reasonable costs
If you want to get ripped off, be sure to call this company. Came out ($30.00 just to show up and give estimate) and gave me an estimate of $1.300.00 + to fix a tankless water heater. Yes, the zeros are correct.
Of course I sent them packing.
Had an honest plumber, True Plumbing, come out the next day and fix it for $200.
None of the things that they said were wrong were even the problem.
BEWARE!!!!!!!!!
Brad M.I have been a priority service club member for years. MyPlumber installed my hot water heater in 2010. Since then, it has had numerous leaks, which weren't even close to being prevented during my seasonal checks. Every time MyPlumber would come out, they would charge me $400-$600 for a new apparatus that wasn't installed initially for my unit configuration. This recent leak was the most catastrophic and resulted in their dismissal from my patronage. I had a massive leak that resulted in over $3000 worth of mold remediation and restoration services. When MyPlumber responded, the tech fixed the issue in about 3.5 hours. When he came out, he had a bill for $1600 that he said MyPlumber would cover. The reason? The leak was caused because MyPlumber installed my unit with PVC vis-a-vis copper. This caused all of the damage. The tech spent 3.5 hours re-installing copper after removing all of the PVS. This is proof-positive they haven't a clue. They also said a manager would call me to talk about $3000 in restoration fees. That call never arrived. They did try to recently continue charging me the monthly fee for the service contract I cancelled a month ago though. I feel really bad for that customer service rep that took that call. After she told me I didn't fill out a form, I told her the last CSR didn't mention that. Besides...you tape ALL of your calls for quality assurance, please bring my tape up, I have the date and time I called. Can you say ""Immediate Refund."" Avoid this lot at all costs.
