Mr. Rooter Plumbing was founded by David Duck in 1970, with its inaugural location in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Duck started his own plumbing business, adopting the name Mr. Rooter. Following negotiations with Don Neighborly, The Neighborly Group purchased Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1989. Although Duck sold the rights to the business and its original franchises, he retained his shop in Oklahoma City. David Duck is still a franchise owner even now.
