In 1970, David Duck founded Mr. Rooter Plumbing, opening the first location in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Duck started his own plumbing business, adopting the name Mr. Rooter. The Neighborly Group took over Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1989 after negotiations between Duck and Don Neighborly. While Duck transferred the rights to the business and its original franchises, he kept his shop in Oklahoma City. Today, David Duck continues to be a franchise owner.
