David Duck established Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1970, launching his first branch in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He began his own plumbing venture, branding it as Mr. Rooter. After discussions between Duck and Don Neighborly, The Neighborly Group acquired Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1989. While Duck transferred the rights to the business and its original franchises, he kept his shop in Oklahoma City. David Duck is still a franchise owner even now.
