My guest bathroom toilet started intermittently filling the tank a few weeks ago. Every few hours, the water would flow in and top off the tank slightly. Not only was it annoying, but it's wasting precious water in a drought-stricken California.

I replaced the flapper myself and cleaned out the fill valve filter, but the problem persisted. I also noticed that there's a slow leak at the supply line leading to the toilet.

Deena got back to me right away after I posted a request for estimate, and we set up a date and time. It was raining cats and dogs that morning, and John arrived in his rain gear. He was more than half an hour late, but fortunately I had the morning off. He put on a pair of protective shoe covers without me asking him to do so, and we promptly got to work.

John identified the problem quickly and started replacing the fill valve apparatus because the old shut-off arm was loose. That was the easy part. When he found a crack in the nut of the supply line, he struggled to loosen the nut because the previous plumber tightened it excessively. It was made more difficult because there wasn't a lot of room in the small guest bathroom to access the supply line.

After a few grunts and sweat, he was able to replace the supply line and the cracked nut. He was persistent on doing it right rather than taking a shortcut. It took him nearly two hours, but the end result was beautiful.

He kept his work space clean and dry, and he left my bathroom spotless. I hated to send him out in the rain when he left, but I love what he accomplished.

The final price tag was significantly higher than what I anticipated, but I did not know that he supply line and shut-off valve needed to be replaced. I do believe that I got what I paid for, which is nothing less than professional, honest work.

This review is looooong overdue - sorry Brian Lutche! The morning of our holiday party the only toilet in our house started flooding. I called and Brian was over within an hour. He arrived and got right to work and did an excellent job. I hopefully won't need a plumber for a while but if I do, I will be definitely calling Mr. Rooter!

Purchased 2 new toilets that needed to be installed. Called asking for a quote and they were able to provide it over the phone, unlike 3 other plumbers that insisted they had to be there to provide an estimate on a standard job. John was thorough and clean. He even hauled away the old toilets and the big boxes they came in.
