Mr. Rooter Plumbing was founded by David Duck in 1970, with its inaugural location in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He began his own plumbing venture, branding it as Mr. Rooter. Following negotiations with Don Neighborly, The Neighborly Group took over Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1989. Although Duck sold the rights to the business and its original franchises, he kept his shop in Oklahoma City. David Duck remains a franchise owner to this day.
