David Duck established Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1970, launching his first branch in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Duck started his own plumbing business, adopting the name Mr. Rooter. Following negotiations with Don Neighborly, The Neighborly Group took over Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1989. Despite selling the business rights and original franchises, Duck maintained ownership of his shop in Oklahoma City. David Duck is still a franchise owner even now.
