Peter the plumber from Mr Rooter was on time, professional and a pleasure to have in my home. The shower backup was not a huge project and he said so. Did not try to gouge us for services we did not need. he looked over the situation and called it what it was, a plugged drain, snaked it and job done. That is what good service is about.

Careful with overpaying. Guys came out to inspect a clogged main line on their $90 some dollar clean out special. They were prompt and courteous. They couldn't clean it. Said it was too clogged and required a $1600 super flush of some such. Had seconds thoughts and decided not to pursue. I then called a local independent plumber who cleaned the entire main line for $200. Pulled everything out. Has worked ever since and that was 8 months ago. Refused a refund on the $90 initial charge that resulted in nothing but a mess in my backyard. Also to not, these are independently run locations. So while the main franchise may advertise ""we clean or it's free"" this location doesn't honor that. Several bad reviews on Angie's list as well. Not trying to take any cheap shots, just go somewhere else.

Very poor customer service. We had this company come and line our pipe for close to 10 grand in February. It's December and we had to call them again to clear the tree roots in our pipe. They said they had to hydro-scrub the pipes and that it would cost $800. The guy, Byron, made me sign everything before the time of the work without explaining the details. These technicians showed up, did 15 minutes of work, said the pipe was broken and that they would have to do more work worth $15 grand. They still wanted to collect the $800 on the spot. After explaining to Byron that all the tree roots had not been cleared out, he still persisted on taking the full amount. He was not considerate of the problem and obviously did not value our future business. I will not be using them again.

I am fair person. I have a problem with a large tree interfering with my pipeline from my house to the street. I have had a large house call from Mr. Rooter before and thought they had solved my problem. There was a clog in the pipeline and I was influenced by their manager Byron to pay for a substantial amount of money even before the work was done. The second house call lasted no more than an hour with half of that time having the technicians explain what they were trying to do (which they couldnt really explain). They had poor customer service and even hit me with their hose accidentally. I will pay a fair amount for the fair amount of work performed. I acknowledge that they have a job to do but their way of doing business and the estimate is totally unacceptable. DONT FALL INTO THEIR TRAP AND DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

They couldn't fix my problem but still charged me for the service. Instead, they tried to sell me a solution that would cost $1,900-$2,400 disguising it as the ""right"" solution. We had the problem fixed by someone else for about a tenth of the price. I requested a refund for the initial work since I felt like they did not fix the issue and shouldn't have charged me for it. In response they sent over a manager with the technician to team up against me in arguing with me rather than being a mediator in the situation. Whether or not they should give me a refund is beside the point. Their poor customer service is what earns them this rating. There was no compromise or any desire to make the customer happy or satisfied. All they cared about was arguing their point over and over until I was too tired to argue anymore. As long as they got the last word in, they were satisfied (as you can see with the responses to reviewers).

I wouldn't trust these guys, be careful of them up-selling their solutions.

All i can say is if you have plumbing issues call anyone OTHER THAN MR. ROOTER.
Unfortunately i had no other choice as I had an emergency situation. I prefer keeping this nightmare short, but will say they ended up doing the work (because as I said I had no other choice), at an exorbitant cost, then refused to accept a coupon i had for any major plumbing job as they said they had already discounted me. I now have had to cancel plans as I have been waiting over 3 1/2 hours for them to come finish inside my home. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I'M TICKED. In addition, every time they have left my home, they've left a mess that I have to clean up. Their slogan about cleaning up after themselves is a bunch of BS.

They ALSO accidentally broke a bulb I had sitting on the counter. I figured they would clean it up (maybe even apologize for breaking it?) once they were done for the day, but that was wishful thinking. They left with the bulb still in pieces on the floor. I do have a new sewer line, but whatever. I could have had someone else do it at a heck of a lot less money.

They are unreliable, misleading, etc. I repeat, any plumbing issue you have whether be it big or small, DO NOT CALL MR. ROOTER.

Had a bad experience with this place a year ago. Inept plumber couldn't fix a leaky faucet.

Plumber also told me I need to fix a leak of my main line at the street. I said no, sent him away and called my handyman and it just turned out to be a loose connection that needed to be tightened. Saved me a boatload of money.

Thank god I moved and don't need to call a plumber in that area anymore.

Worse service ever. If you want to get more customers or even try to KEEP your customers, fire your worker by the name of DANNY now. He is the worst plumber and liar. His estimates are outrageously overpriced, I can find someone else who is certified and license for half his estimates and guaranteed. He is unprofessional, he doesn't check the clear out, and ins tead goes to dig a hole right away. Your company quote: ""A gentleman wipes his feet on the mat, a Mr. Brings his own"" Your Danny, doesn't wipe his feet, and steps in with his muddy shoes and takes a HUGE BOWEL MOVEMENT in a toilet he knows is not flushable and leaves. Called the company, they did nothing. Worse service ever, I would never in my life recommend anybody to Mr. Rooter, fire Danny and save your company!

On Monday we made a call to have our septic tank pumped out only to discover that the company we had been using in the past had only been pumping out 1 of the 3 tanks. The other two had not been serviced or treated in over 10 years. Mr. Shane Overby and his assistant observed the issue, found the problem, and made us aware of what had been going on. They showed us first hand the neglectfulness of the other company's work via the camera he ran down the lines. I would higly recommend Mr. Overby and his crew. I found them to be honest, professional, informative, and very educated at explaining the cause, effect, and treatment procedures to ensure issues never occur again. We'll be using them for all future services needed for our home in Covina!

If you want you bank account cleaned out then call this Mr. Rooter in Baldwin Park. I had previously used this company in Rancho Mirage and had been very happy with their work. But this independent company on Garvey Avenue is the most unethical company I have ever encountered.After the plumber left in the middle of the night I had a large stream of water running from my upstairs laundry room which made the ceiling collapse onto my mahogany kitchen table that needed to be refinished after the water streamed onto it for half a day. The wood floors in the kitchen were also damaged to the point I had to spent $3,500 to have them repaired. If that wasn't bad enough the quote to fix the washer connection ended up $400 more that the estimate. After the damage to my kitchen they would take no responsible for my kitchens damage and I had to subsequently sue them in small claims court and recovered most of the cost for the damages.
