Mr. Rooter in Baldwin Park has got to be the worst company ever!! Do NOT HIRE them nor TRUST them, they are out to make money and NOT repair the job they say needs work or the right way.

I had a leak in my bathroom in 2006, had them come out on an emergency call to fix the problem and they begain the work immediately. I called my insurance company and by the time it took for the adjuster to come out and see the damage, Mr. Rooter conveniently hauled all the broken pieces away, so there was no proof and the insurance company would NOT take their word on it, cuz their crooks!! The price they quoted me to ""Get my house back in order"" and the shoddy work they did was ridiculous!! NOT only did the price keep going up because they kept finding ""supposedly"" more work to be done, but they took advantage of a female too. By the time they finished the work, it was into the thousand!! There was NO end it. The owners are brother I forgot their names, but their field supervisor at the time wa Benjamin, they were like a tag team!! They all promised me they would take care of the work and the owner himself said he would pay for the hotel for my son and I being out of the house, and when the insurance didn't pay, of course he back peddled too.

I called them out last year and again this year because my bathroom floor was creaking. The Supervisor came out, flashed the flashing under the house and said he didn't see any leaks. Yeah right, lazy bastards!! As it turned out, I had to call out two different companies, Servpro and another restoration company, to come out and see if I did have a leak or anything. As it turned out, there are pictures taken of the shoddy work they did, and now that I'm putting my house back in order again, it's going to cost me and additional $10,000 because the work they did when they installed the new bath tub was done incorrectly causing water to get inbetween the wall and tub and the floor is ruined once again. When they replaced the flooring in the bathroom and in my room, they didn't even brace the joist, they claimed I needed concrete supporters instead!!

All I can say is watch who you hire, check these reviews!! Everyone can NOT be writing the same thing about these crooks for nothing!! I understand they are all individual contractors, but mark my work, DO NOT HIRE MR. ROOTER IN BALDWIN PARK!! They are liars, crooks and they do shoddy work!!

Mr. Rooter of Baldwin Park ripped me off for $410 for three days of work that got absolutely no results. Mr. Rooter of Baldwin Park got their snake stuck in my sewer line. They cut my sewer line in an attempt to remove the snake. I eventually had to take it out myself. The technicians were not competent enough to do anything correctly. I had to repair the sewer line that they cut plus I had to call another company to clear the original stoppage. They were inflexible and obstinate. The technicians were lazy and incompetent. Juan, the technician, whined about everything. Talk, talk, talk and no action. If I did my job as half-assed as they did I would be fired in an hour.

I called the manager, Shane Overby, several times to escalate the issue. After initially being willing to work with me, he abruptly changed his tone and told me to ""do what I have to do.""

Shame on you, Shane Overby, for being unwilling to resolve this issue like a gentleman and for keeping the money that you stole from me for essentially damaging my property. Shame on you, Juan, for tricking me into signing the work order by using fear tactics and my desperation and making me think you would not return if I did not sign.

Lesson learned: DON'T SIGN ANYTHING from a contractor. EVER.

All said and done I was out of my house for four (4) days because of this fiasco.

I would not recommend Mr. Rooter of Baldwin Park to anyone due to my horrible experience.

I would recommend Century Rooter in Monrovia (800-782-4744) who cleared my issue in 20 minutes.

This company is predatory. My elderly mom called them about a problem, and was quoted $3000 for a problem which did not require that much work. More disturbing, they asked he to singe a waiver of right to cancel the work., As soon as we (the sons) found out about this we put a stop to it.

It is THIS LOCATION which gave us the problem.

Peter the plumber from Mr Rooter was on time, professional and a pleasure to have in my home. The shower backup was not a huge project and he said so. Did not try to gouge us for services we did not need. he looked over the situation and called it what it was, a plugged drain, snaked it and job done. That is what good service is about.

Careful with overpaying. Guys came out to inspect a clogged main line on their $90 some dollar clean out special. They were prompt and courteous. They couldn't clean it. Said it was too clogged and required a $1600 super flush of some such. Had seconds thoughts and decided not to pursue. I then called a local independent plumber who cleaned the entire main line for $200. Pulled everything out. Has worked ever since and that was 8 months ago. Refused a refund on the $90 initial charge that resulted in nothing but a mess in my backyard. Also to not, these are independently run locations. So while the main franchise may advertise ""we clean or it's free"" this location doesn't honor that. Several bad reviews on Angie's list as well. Not trying to take any cheap shots, just go somewhere else.

Very poor customer service. We had this company come and line our pipe for close to 10 grand in February. It's December and we had to call them again to clear the tree roots in our pipe. They said they had to hydro-scrub the pipes and that it would cost $800. The guy, Byron, made me sign everything before the time of the work without explaining the details. These technicians showed up, did 15 minutes of work, said the pipe was broken and that they would have to do more work worth $15 grand. They still wanted to collect the $800 on the spot. After explaining to Byron that all the tree roots had not been cleared out, he still persisted on taking the full amount. He was not considerate of the problem and obviously did not value our future business. I will not be using them again.

I am fair person. I have a problem with a large tree interfering with my pipeline from my house to the street. I have had a large house call from Mr. Rooter before and thought they had solved my problem. There was a clog in the pipeline and I was influenced by their manager Byron to pay for a substantial amount of money even before the work was done. The second house call lasted no more than an hour with half of that time having the technicians explain what they were trying to do (which they couldnt really explain). They had poor customer service and even hit me with their hose accidentally. I will pay a fair amount for the fair amount of work performed. I acknowledge that they have a job to do but their way of doing business and the estimate is totally unacceptable. DONT FALL INTO THEIR TRAP AND DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

They couldn't fix my problem but still charged me for the service. Instead, they tried to sell me a solution that would cost $1,900-$2,400 disguising it as the ""right"" solution. We had the problem fixed by someone else for about a tenth of the price. I requested a refund for the initial work since I felt like they did not fix the issue and shouldn't have charged me for it. In response they sent over a manager with the technician to team up against me in arguing with me rather than being a mediator in the situation. Whether or not they should give me a refund is beside the point. Their poor customer service is what earns them this rating. There was no compromise or any desire to make the customer happy or satisfied. All they cared about was arguing their point over and over until I was too tired to argue anymore. As long as they got the last word in, they were satisfied (as you can see with the responses to reviewers).

I wouldn't trust these guys, be careful of them up-selling their solutions.

All i can say is if you have plumbing issues call anyone OTHER THAN MR. ROOTER.
Unfortunately i had no other choice as I had an emergency situation. I prefer keeping this nightmare short, but will say they ended up doing the work (because as I said I had no other choice), at an exorbitant cost, then refused to accept a coupon i had for any major plumbing job as they said they had already discounted me. I now have had to cancel plans as I have been waiting over 3 1/2 hours for them to come finish inside my home. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I'M TICKED. In addition, every time they have left my home, they've left a mess that I have to clean up. Their slogan about cleaning up after themselves is a bunch of BS.

They ALSO accidentally broke a bulb I had sitting on the counter. I figured they would clean it up (maybe even apologize for breaking it?) once they were done for the day, but that was wishful thinking. They left with the bulb still in pieces on the floor. I do have a new sewer line, but whatever. I could have had someone else do it at a heck of a lot less money.

They are unreliable, misleading, etc. I repeat, any plumbing issue you have whether be it big or small, DO NOT CALL MR. ROOTER.

Had a bad experience with this place a year ago. Inept plumber couldn't fix a leaky faucet.

Plumber also told me I need to fix a leak of my main line at the street. I said no, sent him away and called my handyman and it just turned out to be a loose connection that needed to be tightened. Saved me a boatload of money.

Thank god I moved and don't need to call a plumber in that area anymore.
