In 1970, David Duck founded Mr. Rooter Plumbing, opening the first location in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Duck created his own plumbing business and adopted the name Mr. Rooter. The Neighborly Group purchased Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1989 following discussions between Duck and Don Neighborly. While Duck transferred the business rights and original franchises, he retained his shop location in Oklahoma City. Today, David Duck is still a franchise owner.
