David Duck established Mr. Rooter Plumbing in 1970, launching his first branch in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He started his own plumbing company and chose the name Mr. Rooter. After negotiations with Don Neighborly, Mr. Rooter Plumbing was acquired by The Neighborly Group in 1989. While Duck transferred the business rights and original franchises, he retained his shop location in Oklahoma City. David Duck continues to be a franchise owner even now.
