Recommended Customer Reviews
Called Mr Rooter based on recommendation of Trust Dale.com. Was told by the customer service operator that I would get a call 1-hour in advance of technician's arrival. The technician then arrived 2-hours later. My problem was that the kitchen sink was backing up. Because I eat lots of veggies & put egg shells down the disposal, I anticipated a simple roto rooter. Instead the technician wanted to add a valve and quoted me $591.11 to clear the problem. Additionally, he suggested I purchase some insurance through him for an additional $99 that would give me a 15% discount. I was skeptical of his diagnosis and I paid him $29.95 service call fee and sent him away. The next day, I had the problem taken care of for $75 after another plumber dropped a camera through the pipe and cleared the problem. Mr Rooter diagnosed my problem by simply listening to the water gurgling back in the pipe. He never looked. Wouldn't recommend these guys and skeptical of Trust Dale.com recommendations.
Jon Y.This place has terrible customer service. The lady that answered the phone put me on hold 3 times before transferring me to another representative. I think her name was Alia. When I finally spoke to someone, they said they could not help me because they cannot disclose any information that was done on my house prior to my ownership. I just wanted to know when they last cleaned out my septic tank, so I can have them come out and clean my septic tank again since the previous owner gave me their phone number to call if I need septic service. With an attitude voice (like I ruined her day), the lady told me she could not help me. I asked her if she wanted my business and she replied with an attitude that she can not help me. I told her I will take my business somewhere else and again, with an attitude, she said, """"that's fine"""" and hung up. It amazes me that this company is still in business. It's ok. I rather have someone else come and service my septic tank besides these rude people.
Wow I wonder about the competency of this guy from Mr. Rooter! I had called for a plumber from Mr. Rooter to come to my house and fix my water heater. The pilot light would not stay lit and I figured that it was a bad part...no biggie...he comes to my house, checks the water heater and writes up that I need a new water heater and a new coil to the tune of $1100.... ok, I understand that the coil is bad..makes sense..but my water heater had been replaced a few years ago, I knew he was wrong....I told him just to replace the bad part which ended up costing $351.00..which I think is outrageous... After he left I took a look around at the top of the water heater and there was a very tiny drip of water from a water pipe just above the water heater (got to get that fixed too)...the leak had nothing to do with the water heater at all!!! Had this bozo taken the time to find out where the tiny amounts of water came from he would have known that I did not need a new water heater but instead needed a water pipe weld. Not to mention that he was extremely rude when I did not want to replace the water heater.. Will never use them again!
Robert A.Had a Septic Tank problem on March 15th 2014 - Contacted Mr. Rooter on Monday to come out on Tuesday to pump out my tank. The $199.00 pump out price turned into a $3000.00 job !! Septic tank problems again 8 days later - called them back and they keep putting me off. Sat home for 4 hours waiting - They NEVER SHOW UP !! They still putting me off. Supervisor won't return my calls, SO I Charged it back on my Credit Card and Called Seagraves Plumbing !! DON'T EVER USE MR. ROOTER EVER !!! Supervisor finally called at 6pm. AKA Septic Blue is a spin off company of Mr. Rooter !!
Tracy M.Do not use, call this company to fix a running toilet. Was fix so called, but need up coming back. The toilet is still running. After returning for the second time, was told, after this call it is not on them. All of this after they got my money. Please, Please stay away. Very inexperienced plumbers.
As well as the others here, I had a horrible experience with them! The """" technician"""" had no idea of what he was doing and took almost four (four!!!) hours to find the problem, which he did only because I couldn't take it anymore and asked him to call the company asking for a guy with a camera. Anyway, by the end, they found where the problem was ( which had nothing to do with the direction that he had been claiming it to be all afternoon) , unclogged the pipe and said they would be back next day to finish the job. For that job ( trying to run a """" snake"""" through the pipes , using the camera to find where the problem was and unclogging the pipe) they charged me $1,000.00, which, believe me, although I was upset with the amount of time they had been in my house and the technician's lack of knowledge, I thought: """" well, this was a big job and, if we hadn't fixed it the consequences could had been much worse than that..."""" . However, what REALLY got me was the fact that they wanted to charge me $1,600.00 MORE to come next day, replace the old pipe for a new one and actually finish the job!!! I don't understand anything about pipes, but even I know that going to a Home Depot and buying 7 meters of PVC, some connections and a box wouldn't cost me more than $80.00, so what was the rest of the $1,520.00?? Labor?!?!? So next day I text my neighbor and she gave me the name of a reliable plumber who came to my house and finished the job ( which he still found roots growing on the other end of one of the connections, cleaned up everything and replaced the pipes) for $400.00. I'm just guessing here, but I believe that if I had called this plumber in the first place, I probably would have spent around $600.00 for the entire job and would have had it fixed in three or four hours...Calling Mr. Rooter was a HUGE mistake!! I really don't reccomend this company to anyone! They charge WAY more than they should and don't take their job seriously. Horrible! REALLY HORRIBLE!!!!
Same experience as Patrick except we started out at no charge (since it should have been covered by warranty), then got the """"it shouldn't be more than the $29.95 base charge"""", then had the """"technician"""" look me in the eye and tell me with a straight face that he was going to have to charge me for the call and that their current base rate (never mind what's quoted or what is even still on the standard forms they use) is $180 but he was authorized to """"discount"""" that to $89.95. All for the 5 minutes he spent re-lighting a pilot light on a water heater that our renter couldn't figure out. Bait-and-switch on top of already overpriced """"service""""? No sir, never again.
Dan P.I called Mr. Rooter to get my septic tank pumped out. They arrived promptly within the hour. Although they advertise a 1000 gallon pump out for $195 the dispatcher indicated that the pumpout would cost $209.00. Fine. The worker arrived within one and a half hours. I had already dug out the 54"""" x 36"""" lid. The tech went poking around the yard and said he was going to have to do more digging to find out what went wrong. (1950's 500 gallon septic tank and two children that like their toilet paper) I told him I had a plumber that would evaluate and perform any necessary repairs and said I just wanted the tank pumped. He said because the tank was full it would be an additional $120. After I advised that he should be on his way he sat in my driveway for 20 minutes waiting for his supervisor to give him permission to leave.
Christine L.In April, we called Mr. Rooter to have our septic tank checked. We were quoted a price, and we were told that price was to clean out the septic tank. Before they came over, they said that, because it hadn't been cleaned out in so long, it would definitely need to be cleaned. Trevor came over and checked the septic tank, and he told us that it looked good and that we would not need it cleaned out. Then, he told us it would cost the same amount of money that were were quoted to clean it! Of course, I told him just to go ahead and clean it out since it was going to cost us the same amount of money. When he called his manager, of course the price changed. He said that they had just discussed it that morning during their meeting, and he just forgot (yeah, right). I decided that I wanted the tank cleaned out anyway since he was already there. This is when he proceeded to make up something about how they were going to have to call out another truck because of where the tank is located. I was not told about this beforehand. It had started to rain, so I am sure Trevor just did not want to work out in the rain. When my husband called the manager, he said that he would reimburse us if we found a cheaper place to clean out our septic tank. Isn't that why I called them in the first place? This was some of the WORST customer service I have ever had. Their employees are shady, and I would not trust them. Please do not call this company for your needs! They do not want to work.
Horribly overpriced,Get another opinion , even if they dig up your septic, get anothe qoute. They get you by the cahoonas they think when they dig up your septic, but you can pay them to pump it and leave it, and then get quotes on repairs if you really need your drain fields or pipes fixed. Dont let them pressure you while your septic is not working and is dug up. They will rob you blind with all kinds of repair prices and chemicals etc....
