Do not use, call this company to fix a running toilet. Was fix so called, but need up coming back. The toilet is still running. After returning for the second time, was told, after this call it is not on them. All of this after they got my money. Please, Please stay away. Very inexperienced plumbers.

As well as the others here, I had a horrible experience with them! The """" technician"""" had no idea of what he was doing and took almost four (four!!!) hours to find the problem, which he did only because I couldn't take it anymore and asked him to call the company asking for a guy with a camera. Anyway, by the end, they found where the problem was ( which had nothing to do with the direction that he had been claiming it to be all afternoon) , unclogged the pipe and said they would be back next day to finish the job. For that job ( trying to run a """" snake"""" through the pipes , using the camera to find where the problem was and unclogging the pipe) they charged me $1,000.00, which, believe me, although I was upset with the amount of time they had been in my house and the technician's lack of knowledge, I thought: """" well, this was a big job and, if we hadn't fixed it the consequences could had been much worse than that..."""" . However, what REALLY got me was the fact that they wanted to charge me $1,600.00 MORE to come next day, replace the old pipe for a new one and actually finish the job!!! I don't understand anything about pipes, but even I know that going to a Home Depot and buying 7 meters of PVC, some connections and a box wouldn't cost me more than $80.00, so what was the rest of the $1,520.00?? Labor?!?!? So next day I text my neighbor and she gave me the name of a reliable plumber who came to my house and finished the job ( which he still found roots growing on the other end of one of the connections, cleaned up everything and replaced the pipes) for $400.00. I'm just guessing here, but I believe that if I had called this plumber in the first place, I probably would have spent around $600.00 for the entire job and would have had it fixed in three or four hours...Calling Mr. Rooter was a HUGE mistake!! I really don't reccomend this company to anyone! They charge WAY more than they should and don't take their job seriously. Horrible! REALLY HORRIBLE!!!!

Same experience as Patrick except we started out at no charge (since it should have been covered by warranty), then got the """"it shouldn't be more than the $29.95 base charge"""", then had the """"technician"""" look me in the eye and tell me with a straight face that he was going to have to charge me for the call and that their current base rate (never mind what's quoted or what is even still on the standard forms they use) is $180 but he was authorized to """"discount"""" that to $89.95. All for the 5 minutes he spent re-lighting a pilot light on a water heater that our renter couldn't figure out. Bait-and-switch on top of already overpriced """"service""""? No sir, never again.

I called Mr. Rooter to get my septic tank pumped out. They arrived promptly within the hour. Although they advertise a 1000 gallon pump out for $195 the dispatcher indicated that the pumpout would cost $209.00. Fine. The worker arrived within one and a half hours. I had already dug out the 54"""" x 36"""" lid. The tech went poking around the yard and said he was going to have to do more digging to find out what went wrong. (1950's 500 gallon septic tank and two children that like their toilet paper) I told him I had a plumber that would evaluate and perform any necessary repairs and said I just wanted the tank pumped. He said because the tank was full it would be an additional $120. After I advised that he should be on his way he sat in my driveway for 20 minutes waiting for his supervisor to give him permission to leave.

In April, we called Mr. Rooter to have our septic tank checked. We were quoted a price, and we were told that price was to clean out the septic tank. Before they came over, they said that, because it hadn't been cleaned out in so long, it would definitely need to be cleaned. Trevor came over and checked the septic tank, and he told us that it looked good and that we would not need it cleaned out. Then, he told us it would cost the same amount of money that were were quoted to clean it! Of course, I told him just to go ahead and clean it out since it was going to cost us the same amount of money. When he called his manager, of course the price changed. He said that they had just discussed it that morning during their meeting, and he just forgot (yeah, right). I decided that I wanted the tank cleaned out anyway since he was already there. This is when he proceeded to make up something about how they were going to have to call out another truck because of where the tank is located. I was not told about this beforehand. It had started to rain, so I am sure Trevor just did not want to work out in the rain. When my husband called the manager, he said that he would reimburse us if we found a cheaper place to clean out our septic tank. Isn't that why I called them in the first place? This was some of the WORST customer service I have ever had. Their employees are shady, and I would not trust them. Please do not call this company for your needs! They do not want to work.

Horribly overpriced,Get another opinion , even if they dig up your septic, get anothe qoute. They get you by the cahoonas they think when they dig up your septic, but you can pay them to pump it and leave it, and then get quotes on repairs if you really need your drain fields or pipes fixed. Dont let them pressure you while your septic is not working and is dug up. They will rob you blind with all kinds of repair prices and chemicals etc....

Unbelievably horrible experience. I am extremely dissatisfied with their service or their lack off. They offer the $195 Pumping Special for 1000 gallon tank and $295 for a 1500 gallon tank. I told them that I did not know which one I had because I bought the house few months ago. They said no problem. They will send an expert out who will do a free estimate and inform me about the tank. On the day of the work I get a phone call 7:10 am telling me that the guy will be on his way. Then they call me at 7:45 am telling me that he cannot make it he has some trouble. Probably another job. Then they call me back at almost 10:00 am telling me that the man will be there in the next hour. Finally, the man come after I waited for over an hour. He seems decent than informs me that there will be additional fees depending on the amount of sludge or solids in that tank and the special price of $195 or $295 only covers few inches. For the rest there will be additional fees. Not having much of a choice, I reluctantly agree to additional fee depending on the level of sludge. I open the house and show him all of the sewer pipes to make his job easier and convenient. He feels confident and gets a metal rod from the truck and starts looking for the tank. He pokes the ground looking for about 15 minutes all around the back yard. He looks on the street and sees some marks. He assumes that the house is connected to the sewer on the street. I said are you sure. He said. No. I would need to call another man in the company with the camera to run into the sewer to follow the pipe to be sure. I said OK. Why don't you? He said that is an additional fee of $400. He said that you do not need to decide today if I do not want. Just call back the company and I will come out again with the right equipment. I said I need a day or two to think about it. He apologize for not being able to find it and left. I go back to work and I get a call about 1 1/2 hours later from Kimberly from the office. She said that"""" You need to go back to the house and pay the driver $125 service call fee."""" I was shocked. I said he was not able to find it and now you want to charge me a service fee that is almost the same amount as the full service. She got upset and had nasty attitude saying """"I does not matter. You still have to pay."""" I said you want me to pay your company for failing to do anything, She said with attitude """"YEEEAH."""" Wow. I left my work and I had to drive back to the man. He was waiting in front of my house. He tried to apologize for this and tried to blame the management for being greedy. I complained about Kimberly and her bad attitude and customer service. He laughed and informed me that it was her normal behavior and she treats him bad as well. I do not know what to say anymore. I gave him money and he tried to offer his service after he is off duty for a lower price cutting out Mr.Rooter. I declined his service and informed him that I do not trust this company and will not give them any more business in the future. I would hope that anyone considering Mr. Rooter thinks twice about their services and is prepared to pay additional fees regardless of services performed. The free estimate as they claimed is not free.

This company is a scam. I had my septic tank cleaned and I was told that the amount would be $195. When the technician (John) completed the job, he gave me a price of $514. He said that he had to do """"extra digging"""" and he had to use an additional hose. He also said that he waived the $200 locator fee (as if he was doing me a favor). I was shocked and very disappointed in this price because the website clearly states that the $195 is a """"flat fee with no confusion."""" I called the company and asked to speak with a manager who could take care of this and I was told by someone by the name of Linda that a manager would call me. To no avail did a manager call but he called the technician instead. John stated that the manager could take $100 off but that was all he could do and if I did not like it, John could pump the sewage back into my septic tank. I could notg believe my ears. The manager also refused to speak with me because he told John he fears saying something very inappropriate. At this point, I was livid. John stated that this happens all of the time. Customers are not told about the """"additional fees"""" upfront and are given a huge amount to pay after the job is done. I don't know if this company is a member of the Better Business Bureau, but I will be contacting them. Shame on Mr. Rooter for ripping off customers and demonstrating a lack of professionalism. Unless you are prepared to be ripped off and treated with a lack of respect, find another septic business.

Horribly overpriced and tryed to fix what is not broken. In short they wanted $2323.23 for replacing a water heater. They wanted $1128.25 for a 40 gallon water heater. I can get a better spec'd water heater at Home Depot / Sears / Lowes for $400. Another company fixed/replaced everything, plus fixed my toilet (new guts, new water supply valve) for $950.00. They also spent too much time trying to pitch a service contract membership. I simply laughed. While they were out here, I googled """"Mr. Rooter complaints"""" and found this board. I read through this stuff while this guy was compiling his estimate. I told him about the complaints I read, and that he did exactly what everyone else complained about. I told him also that I could get a water heater for $400 and he began telling me how their Flame Guard is better and last longer, and wasn't available to the public (simple ploy so you can't compare the pricing). Flame Guard is made by American I believe, which makes a similar brand for Sears. I asked if it were better, why lower spec, and why an identical warranty. He simply didn't know what to say. All I can say is that these people prey on uniformed consumers. Thankfully I had my smart phone handy!

Awful experience. Got themselves in the door with a """"29.95"""" charge for giving us a quote. By the time they left they wanted to charge me $90 and hadn't even really quoted me what they came out for!!! The technician admitted to me that they offer the cheap quote then upsell it without even telling you. I don't suggest doing business with people like this.
