Mr. Rooter was assigned by my home warranty to investigate a water heater that I already knew would have to be replaced. After the visit, they called back and said it would be $771 out of pocket AFTER what the warranty paid. I called the warranty company. They said the technician had added $398 for "modification of the water line," $135 to "bring the drain pan up to code," and $148 to bring the "insulation up to code." I call BS! The water lines are in excellent condition, a drain pan costs around $20, and tanks come with insulation--plus, this tank sits in a closet designed for a water heater, no insulation required.
These people are padding the bill. If they don't want to accept the contracted payment they have with the warranty company, they need to decline to renew when the contract is up.

Our drainage pipe was leaking, took them less than 2 hours. We are happy with the results and the customer service.

I would not recommend this contractor to touch anything in your home, some of the laziest overpriced plumbers I have seen. I, unfortunately, had them assigned to me from American Homeshield (AHS) they came took pictures, and only completed 1 task out of the three that they were assigned and refused to do any of the other work without me paying extra for something that was covered. Do not hire them!

Mr. Rooter is the local contractor for American Home Shield. I contacted AHS on 3/28/2021 and requested service for my kitchen faucet. The request was assigned to Mr. Rooter who contacted me and scheduled the appointment. The plumber came out and examined the faucet by taking a photograph. The faucet is an upgraded, high-end, touch faucet. He never examined the faucet to see if it could be repaired. While at my home he contacted AHS and then said that AHS would order the faucet and that once it arrived, Mr. Rooter would let me know and come back to install it. He could give me no timetable because AHS was going to order the faucet. He said that if I wanted quicker service, I could purchase the faucet myself locally and pay Mr. Rooter to install it. I chose to wait for AHS because I have already paid for that service. On 4/16/2022, I called AHS to check on the status of the order. Over two weeks without water in our kitchen was an inconvenience. The AHS representative said the service order had been closed. Mr. Rooter was supposed to order the faucet and install it. I told her that the plumber had said that AHS was going to order the faucet and I had to wait till Mr. Rooter received the faucet from AHS before it could be installed. The AHS representative said that AHS does not order replacement parts; the plumbers order the parts. She said she would email Mr. Rooter to order the faucet ASAP. I waited 5 more days and then called Mr. Rooter because I had not heard from them. I asked for a status update. The person I spoke with said that the faucet had been ordered on 4/6/2022. I found that had to believe since the plumber had told me that he had to wait for AHS to order the faucet. I then asked for the name of the vendor they ordered the faucet from. The person at Mr. Rooter said she could not provide the name of the vendor they ordered the faucet from. I asked if she could check on when the faucet might arrive. She said she could do that but she did not check on that even though I asked her to please check on that for me. I then asked her for the name of the owner for the local Mr. Rooter franchise. She put me on hold and then came back on and said if I had more questions, I would have to contact AHS - that she could not help me further. I asked if she was refusing to give me the name of the local owner. She said that AHS would have that information. I called AHS and they did not have the name of the local owner. AHS placed me on hold and attempted to call Mr. Rooter to get the owner's name and contact information but no one answered the phone; it went directly to voicemail. AHS said that they would email Mr. Rooter and request that they send me the information I was requesting. I am disappointed and frustrated that we have no water in our kitchen; that I don't have any idea of when we will get the faucet installed or even when it will arrive. 4/21/2022 I attempted to call Mr. Rooter back to see if they had received the email from AHS. After waiting on hold for approximately 5 minutes, I was routed to a voicemail box where I received the message that the mailbox was full and could not accept further voicemails, and then I was disconnected. It appears that Mr. Rooter attempted to circumvent AHS procedures to get me to order the faucet and pay them additionally to install the faucet when I have already paid AHS for the service. Their ethics appear questionable. Unfortunately, my contract with AHS requires me to use Mr. Rooter so I'm stuck with this plumbing company.

These yahoos were sent to my house twice, for 2 different issues, with my warranty company. Both times they told me I was going to have to pay tons out of pocket. Both times, I got the work done for less than half what they quoted me. When I had a stoppage in my tub, they told me it would be around $3000. I had another plumber come out, they unclogged my tub for $120!!! I would NEVER recommend this company. They will rob you blind. Thank goodness I got a second opinion.

I don't think the problem was with the technician, the problem was with the dispatcher who refused to send out a technician on the unresolved issue. We will use a reliable plumbing company in the future.

Unfortunately my home warranty uses Mr. Rooter for plumbing service requests. I've had previous issue with Mr. Rooter and today was no different. After waiting for several hours for the technician to arrive in the provided window (4 hrs), we finally received a "tech is on his way" message. Using the tracking device provided, I noticed the technician was located on 14th St for about an hour (right around the First Financial Bank parking lot). Finally around 5:30 or so, I received a message that the technician had started his service at the address. When I looked out to see if he'd arrived, his truck was passing was driving down the block. I received no knock, no call, no text or any indication that the tech came to the door. Not surprisingly I received a "sorry we missed you" message after that. Typical for such a sorry excuse of a plumbing company. If you can hire someone else, do so!!

DO NOT USE this Company!
We scheduled 2 appointments with this company and both appointments were no call/no shows. My husband and I tried several times to reach this company by phone and was either put on hold for several minutes then sent to a voicemail, which was full and not able to leave a message. We were given a 4 hour window with both appointments, so that means one of us had to be at the house to wait on the plumber to show up, which as I stated above no one showed up nor gave us a courtesy call. Do not let them fool you when you need a plumber! They will set you an appointment time, but will not call or show up! Very unprofessional!!

I will never again do any business with Mr Rooter, and based on the other reviews you shouldn't either. They didn't do any work, but they wasted 2 trips, 6 days, my time, and my home warranty's money.
Atmos discovered a leak on our property on 01/22/2021. They shut-off the gas, and we immediately scheduled an appointment with a San Angelo plumbing company who did outstanding work on 01/25/2021. However, they detected a slow leak in the house. They gave me an estimate, but because I have a home warranty company I called them and they said it would be covered. They cancelled their open permit and instructed me to have the warranty company's plumbers open a new permit. While this was happening a city inspector showed up, and inspected their work. However, because there was a leak under the house they couldn't complete the inspection. With the city inspector there I was instructed to have the new company get a new permit, and the inspector would come back and finish the inspection.
That same day I opened a ticket with the warranty company, and it was Mr Rooter. I called to schedule a time, but the rude receptionist told me she'd have to check the schedule and call me back in a few minutes. She didn't call back that day.
Tuesday she finally called and scheduled for Thursday between 2 and 4. Usually a company will call ahead, but they didn't. At 2:06, the receptionist called and extremely rudely told me they were there but leaving. I asked for them to wait 5 minutes for me to get home. I got there 5 minutes later since I work nearby, but they were gone. I called back to rescheduled, and the receptionist was rude again and told me she'd call back.
The plumbers came back about 30 minutes later. I explained the situation and that the leak was under the house. They said they needed to test the line but didn't have a compressor. ON A CALL FOR A GAS LEAK THEY DIDN'T BRING THE TOOLS TO FIND THE LEAK! AFTER I'D ALREADY TOLD THEM THE LEAK WAS UNDER THE HOUSE...Why even bother coming out for 10 minutes?
They just left my house (Saturday), and I'm so mad I'm shaking while I write this. 2 different plumbers showed up, and I again explained the situation. The older plumber balked at doing anything and called someone. After the call, they hooked up the compressor and confirmed there was a leak. They said they'd have to pull a permit and climb under the house to find it. That should have already been done, but ok...
Another Mr Rooter van pulled up, and the man driving said they couldn't do the work. I told him they just needed to pull a permit and they could. He made excuses, left, and they just cancelled my ticket.
I explained the situation to Mr Rooter employees at least 4 times from Monday - Saturday. My family, including my 9 month old baby, has not had heat or hot water for 6 days because of Mr Rooter. It'll be at least 2 more days since it's the weekend and the city permit offices are closed. If they wouldn't do the work that's one thing, but they've been completely unprepared every step of the way. I told them multiple times the leak is under the house, so they knew they needed a permit. I told them multiple times there was a new line outside the house. They made a quick buck from my home warranty company for literally 10 minutes of diagnosis, but they'll never get the opportunity to do any work for me again.

Terrible service, rude office staff. I had a busted pipe and my home warranty has a contract with Mr Rooter. The tech came out and turned off the water. He told me that someone would be out "either later today or first thing tomorrow". No one called so I called the office at 0900 the next morning to inquire about a time. I was told that they would call me back and let me know. I called two hours later and was treated dismissively and still not told when I could expect someone to come out. I called my home warranty company and he reached out to them and was told that they would be calling me shortly. I took the day off to be home and didn't hear from them before end of business. I decided to go ahead and hire someone else because I needed the job completed. Even with the warranty, they said I would have at least $300 of additional cost. The plumber I hired charged only $500 (and the job ended up requiring a new water heater in addition to fixing the pipe) and was competent, friendly, and thorough. I am planning to install a hot tub soon and now I know who I absolutely won't call for the job. Please spare yourself the aggravation and avoid Mr Rooter.
