Duck started his own plumbing business and adopted the name Mr. Rooter. In 1989, The Neighborly Group acquired Mr. Rooter Plumbing after negotiations with Duck and Don Neighborly. Although Duck sold the business rights and original franchises, he kept his shop in Oklahoma City. Today, David Duck is still a franchise owner.
