Moore Home Services
Company Overview
In 1991, brothers Kenny and Jerry Bell launched Moore Home Services in Sacramento, CA. With over 25 years of experience, we have broadened our expertise beyond heating and air to include plumbing, ductwork, insulation, and window services. Our customers have benefited from over $5,000,000 in Home Energy Upgrade rebates, solidifying our position as a leader in California's Home Energy Upgrade Program for utility providers like SMUD and PG&E. Currently, we operate 140 service vehicles and employ 200 dedicated professionals who serve the greater Sacramento area and its seven neighboring counties, as well as Hayward and the Bay Area. It’s clear why we promise satisfaction every day of the year to our customers.
The Bell brothers attended HVAC school in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1982, where they gained foundational knowledge in heating and air. After finishing at the top of their class, they began working in the trades to acquire hands-on experience. They opened a pizza parlor in their hometown in 1985, all while continuing to work for local HVAC contractors. In 1991, they launched Moore Home Services, using a repurposed pizza delivery truck and placing an ad in the phone book. They made pizzas and waited for service calls, quickly changing shirts to attend to customers when the phone rang. In 1995, the HVAC segment transitioned from the pizza parlor to its own building, bringing on their first employees. Their goal was to establish themselves as the top heating and cooling service company in the area. Now, Moore Home Services is recognized as the largest heating and air conditioning provider in the Sacramento region.
Moore Home Services began with two brothers over 28 years ago who envisioned creating a family of customers receiving unmatched service and guaranteed satisfaction.
Our commitment has always been to offer the best heating and air services, now encompassing plumbing, sewer, window replacement, ductwork, and insulation. What sets us apart is our dedication to ongoing, high-quality training for our technicians, who take great pride in their work and the care they provide for your home. Allow us to demonstrate the Moore Home Services difference.

Recommended Customer Reviews

Customer Service is awesome from the estimate to the installation. Aaron is knowledgeable and responds quickly to questions. Joe's customer service skills are great and I was impressed when he called to inform me the installers were on their way. Matt and Gary are very friendly, polite and did a great job. I am very pleased with our new heat and air unit. Definitely will recommend McDonald plumbing Heating and Air to my friends and family! Thank you for the job well done, the nice thank you card and brownies.

I needed my shower fixed, l was making some phone calls for services on it and ran into McDonald's plumbing, l wasn't going to have estimate done, due to the fact they were the most expensive for estimates. But, the supervisor on the phone promised if l wasn't 100% happy he wouldn't charge me for this estimate.
I feel there very customer service committed. The price for the service was a bit high, so l didn't accept the job. But the supervisor on the quoted me 59$ and then when the person coming out to give the estimate said it was 89$? I wasn't so happy about the service and was told to call McDonalds plumbing Monday.
I made that call and they truely stood behind there word! I would trust them in the future but only if they lower there prices, cause my job was fairly simple.

Awesome customer service!!!!! My parents had nothing but glowing comments about the technician that came to their house recently to do some plumbing work so I gave McDonald a try. Glen was excellent, he explained the whole process to me and greeted me with a handshake and a smile. My sink is draining great once again. Thank you as well to Rhonda for also being kind and professional when I called to set the appointment. You are AWESOME and I will recommend your company to other friends of mine when they need a plumber. Many thanks.

I was very happy with my experience with McDonald's staff. I called in the late afternoon explaining that I had a leak behind the wall in my shower and needed a plumber to come out and replace the shower valve. I had a referral from a co-worker for a particular plumber, Eduardo. Eduardo was able to come out the next morning, took the time to evaluate the issue, and provided with a work order listing my cost while explaining what he would be doing. I agreed and the work was completed in under 2 hours. (I had already employed another plumber who wasn't able to complete the repair after coming out 2 days in a row.) The staff was also very helpful and scheduled the appointment when it was convenient for me with very short notice. I called after the service with questions and Eduardo called me back within the hour and was able to answer all of my questions.

I smelled gas on Sunday night, called PG&E, PG&E arrived, investigated, and turned my gas off. PG&E detected a gas lead ""somewhere"" under the house. PG&E's work order included instructions that PG&E would not turn the gas back on until the problem was resolved. Without hot water, heat, or a stove to cook on, your only choice is to call someone and FAST!! Yes, I went ""old school"" and thumbed my way through the Yellow Pages. I was looking for a plumbing company that was still owned by a human, not a corporation, and not a franchise. McDonald was the company I choose to call. Monday, morning I called, they sent a technician out the same day. Carlos was my technician, he investigated and concluded that I needed to replace my gas lines, and since the original gas lines are buried under the house in a crawl space that no human can access, the lines would need to be routed through the attic. Carlos assured me that they could begin the job (first thing in the morning) on Tuesday. By Thursday afternoon, the job was complete, I passed inspection, and PG&E came out the same day. Carlos was courteous, respectful of my property, timely, and very professional. The quality of the work is top notch. I was fortunate that McDonald could resolve my problem right away!! Thank you for the great service and the fast resolution. In addition, when I called the office, a lady representative answered my call on the 2nd ring, was patient, listened to my problem, and scheduled the technician to come out the same day. Kudos all around for the McDonald team !!!

I recently had service done on my home. I am so amazed by the customer service that I received from the tech that came out and fixed my heater. If you want the best service then ask for Darryl. He did an amazing job!!!!! He really made me feel at ease and answer everyone of my questions. I will defiantly recommend McDonald plumbing heating and air to all my friends and family.

We called McDonald yesterday because the pilot on our water heater won't stay lit. They were able to make it out within a few hours, which is great. However, they quoted us 430 dollars to replace it and said we'd have to sign a waiver because our brand of water heater will just break again within a week. He said 4/5 of the thermocouples they replace malfunction within a week. We opted not to pay the 430, and they waived the service fee. It was good customer service, but we decided not to have them replace the part.

All my interactions with McDonald employees were friendly and courteous. They called back when they said the would, called me when they were coming and followed up with me. Francisco did a fine job. My only issue is pricing. I had to pay an additional $187.50 because the part was not in stock. On my invoice it indicated ""leave job to get non stock part"". Seems a bit steep for having to come back a separate day to install a part that was probably shipped to the office. I will look elsewhere next time to save some $.
And after checking a price list from another vendor for this exact service which was priced at a total cost of $249. I will definitely NOT be calling McDonald for service again. I could have saved $266 by using another vendor. I definitely don't have that kind of money to be wasting.

Today I had a very nice conversation with Vince McDonald, the owner of McDonald Plumbing. I am so glad that we got to talk because he was sincerely concerned about the action that was taken on December 4th regarding my water heater. I wanted to be sure he read my previous YELP review. He had. We spent time discussing every single concern that I had, including his employee, my water heater, and even concerns I had concerning the future of said water heater. He explained the many, many factors that went into the poor service I felt I received, and he reviewed each situation, apologized when appropriate, and expressed his concern for our community, for the safety of my family and for his desire to uphold the integrity that his business has earned. I found him to be very informed, polite and sincere. The situation was this: I needed the heater fixed asap, whatever it took. His employee looked at the whole picture and the poor reputation of this specific water heater. Because of it's location (in the attic) and the age of the appliance, it will probably need to be replaced sooner than later and it WILL be a huge job switching out units through a small hole in the ceiling of the bathroom, while keeping up to date with all the new codes.
I am grateful that Mr. McDonald took the time to talk with me. He seems like a man of integrity. I think that the many other very, very positive reviews of his business are more indicative of the business overall.

Overpriced, scare tactics, and unreasonable I do not recommend. Call other plumbing and heating company. I called to complain and asked for the owner, Melaine called the service tech and he said he was the service manager. He installed a $20 part in 10 minutes, plus show up fee of $79 and charged $265, before my husband was able to STOP him. He said he already did it. Service Tech asked my daughter if there is a Carbon Monoxide unit in the house. Of course there is one, she just forgot. Tech said If you use the heater there might be a leak, to change out the unit will cost 10K. She called us crying and upset. I asked my daughter to call local CDF and send someone over to reassure her that the HVAC unit is fine, we will have another HVAC company come over to go over the unit. I am not comfortable with a company using these scare tactics on a young venerable female. SHAME on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!
