Founded in 1991 in Sacramento, CA, Moore Home Services is the brainchild of brothers Kenny and Jerry Bell. After more than 25 years in the industry, we now specialize in plumbing, ductwork, insulation, and window services in addition to heating and air. We have secured more than $5,000,000 in Home Energy Upgrade rebates for our clients, establishing ourselves as a frontrunner in California's Home Energy Upgrade Program with utility companies such as SMUD and PG&E. Today, our fleet consists of 140 trucks, and we have 200 skilled employees serving the greater Sacramento region and its surrounding counties, including Hayward and the Bay Area. In 1982, Jerry and Kenny Bell enrolled in HVAC school in Phoenix, Arizona, where they mastered the fundamentals of heating and air. After finishing at the top of their class, they began working in the trades to acquire hands-on experience. In 1985, they took a leap into the pizza business, launching a pizzeria in their hometown while also working for local HVAC companies. In 1991, they launched Moore Home Services, using a repurposed pizza delivery truck and placing an ad in the phone book. They made pizzas and waited for service calls, quickly changing shirts to attend to customers when the phone rang. In 1995, the HVAC segment transitioned from the pizza parlor to its own building, bringing on their first employees. Their goal was to establish themselves as the top heating and cooling service company in the area. Today, Moore Home Services stands as the largest heating and air conditioning company in the Sacramento area.

Moore Home Services began with two brothers over 28 years ago who envisioned creating a family of customers receiving unmatched service and guaranteed satisfaction.

I just hung up the phone after receiving the nth of many cold calls from McDonald, each to solicit unnecessary service. Despite multiple requests to be removed from their call list, McDonald seems to be the gift that keeps on giving.

I used McDonald in the past, but their service deteriorated to what could best be described as pathetic. My favorite technician left McDonald, citing the same reason. I would avoid McDonald at all costs.

We returned from vacation with no hot water. We called McDonald who had offered to flush our water heater a month ago when we had our annual AC maintenance which we were going to do when we returned. We called at 7:30 AM and they offered to send out a technician the same day 12-2 PM for the water heater flush and evaluate it for no charge. Thank goodness the pilot light had gone out. The technician lit the pilot light and flushed the water heater for no charge. Now we have hot water. It is not often these days to get service for free.

After several emails Mr McDonald and I have made things right. He bent over backwards to ensure that I was satisfied and to try and resolve our issues. He reviewed his company's policies and started a new policy and or procedure, now a post installation check will be done on all properties to ensure that no damage was done. I am very satisfied that he has such regard for his customers that he would do this.

I have been a satisfied customer of McDonald PHA for almost 15 years. Just had my annual AC service check under my preventative maintenance plan (technician arrived ahead of schedule, yay). Darryl was not only professional and thorough, he made spot on recommendations in response to concerns that I had. He also gave me info on whole-house fans...I've been looking intonthese and am thrilled that I can use McDonald PHA for the install!

Not only are the techs & installers great, Jennifer in the office is also very professional and always provides excellent customer service.

I've heard comments that McDonald PHA is more expensive. But you get what you pay for, and what I've gotten over the years (including plumbing) is good customer service. On the one or two occasions that I had minor issues with work performed, the situations were corrected to my satisfaction when I made them aware of my concerns.

Wouldn't use these guys again if they were the last HVAC company in Sacramento. Was lied to by the salesman on our first visit from them. Too bad I didn't know it then or I would have immediately gone elsewhere. A member of the 1980 Olympic swim team? I don't think so. Anyway we did buy a new HVAC unit, installation went well. But evey visit since then they have told me that the manufacturer of the unit they sold me cut corners and if I want the unit to last they need to sell me more components. Every visit, if they actually show up-they've missed two scheduled visits now, they say I need to spend $300.00-$500.00 for components to a brand new furnace. Don't trust these guys!

Technician recommended in writing service/repairs to our 2 year old HVAC system at substantial cost, even though were items covered by warranty and should have been at no cost. McDonald sold and installed the system. Response to my complaint was less than convincing and apparently ignored my request for a written response. I do not trust them.

I called McDonald Plumbing, Heating & Air on 2/10/15 at 7:30 a.m. after my hot water heater suddenly stopped working and I needed help. I gave all of my information to a woman who said she would fax my information to someone who would call me right back to schedule a service call. It's been 60 hours and I've never received a call back. Thankfully I didn't wait more than an hour before calling another company who was happy to have my business. Will never call McDonald again.

If my furnace blew as much hot air as these guys, I wouldn't need a new one. After a seasonal service, they came out to give me a quote on a new furnace and duct work. I knew I was in trouble when he started with, ""We don't make any money on these kinds of jobs."" His quote turned out to be DOUBLE one I later received from a reputable company. It was also shady that they would not provide a written quote. They did knock $2500 off the price for no other reason than I balked. Stay away from these guys.

Vince came out to take a look at a replacement HVAC system for a new home I purchased. He arrived timely and was very professional and courteous. I was in the middle of a lot of renovation and had many different projects occurring at the house. While we were discussing the HVAC problem, he inquired on other plumbing work that was underway.

While I didn't mention this to Vince, I had been concerned about some of the plumbing work that was done by another company and if codes being met so when he questioned a few things I was very grateful for his inquiry. He went to great lengths to find code and to note what areas would be of great concern once the walls were closed up and I was living in the house. He even emailed me after his visit with code particulars that I could use to help articulate to the other company where the issues were found.

I am not an expert in plumbing work and would have been none the wiser had Vince not interrupted the HVAC discussion and brought them to my attention. By doing this, Vince saved me a lot of money and trouble down the road. He is knowledgeable and extremely helpful and worth a call if you have any HVAC or plumbing needs.
