Moore Home Services
Company Overview
In 1991, brothers Kenny and Jerry Bell launched Moore Home Services in Sacramento, CA. With over 25 years of experience, we have broadened our expertise beyond heating and air to include plumbing, ductwork, insulation, and window services. We have secured more than $5,000,000 in Home Energy Upgrade rebates for our clients, establishing ourselves as a frontrunner in California's Home Energy Upgrade Program with utility companies such as SMUD and PG&E. Today, our fleet consists of 140 trucks, and we have 200 skilled employees serving the greater Sacramento region and its surrounding counties, including Hayward and the Bay Area. It’s clear why we promise satisfaction every day of the year to our customers.
Jerry and Kenny Bell began their journey in HVAC school in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1982, learning the essentials of heating and air. Graduating at the top of their class, they entered the trades to gain practical experience. In 1985, they took a leap into the pizza business, launching a pizzeria in their hometown while also working for local HVAC companies. The year 1991 marked the founding of Moore Home Services, beginning with one old pizza delivery truck turned service vehicle and a phone book advertisement. They made pizzas and waited for service calls, quickly changing shirts to attend to customers when the phone rang. By 1995, the HVAC division moved out of the pizza shop and into its own facility, hiring the first employees. They set out to be the premier heating and cooling service provider in the region. Moore Home Services has grown to be the biggest heating and air conditioning company in the Sacramento area.
Founded over 28 years ago by two brothers, Moore Home Services was built on the dream of creating a family of customers who receive unparalleled service and satisfaction guaranteed.
We have consistently aimed to provide our customers with top-quality heating and air services, now expanded to include plumbing, sewer, window replacement, ductwork, and insulation. We distinguish ourselves by offering continuous, high-quality training to our technicians, who take pride in their craftsmanship and care for your home. Let us show you what makes Moore Home Services unique.

I called McDonald Plumbing, Heating & Air on 2/10/15 at 7:30 a.m. after my hot water heater suddenly stopped working and I needed help. I gave all of my information to a woman who said she would fax my information to someone who would call me right back to schedule a service call. It's been 60 hours and I've never received a call back. Thankfully I didn't wait more than an hour before calling another company who was happy to have my business. Will never call McDonald again.

If my furnace blew as much hot air as these guys, I wouldn't need a new one. After a seasonal service, they came out to give me a quote on a new furnace and duct work. I knew I was in trouble when he started with, ""We don't make any money on these kinds of jobs."" His quote turned out to be DOUBLE one I later received from a reputable company. It was also shady that they would not provide a written quote. They did knock $2500 off the price for no other reason than I balked. Stay away from these guys.

This company is phenominal. Pleasant and professional. I highly recommend them to any and all friends, family and strangers that express the need for any of the services offered. You may find that their prices are a bit on the higher side, however, you definitely get what you pay for and that is QUALITY! Thank you, McDonald's for making our experience smooth and uncomplicated. Wonderful job!

Vince came out to take a look at a replacement HVAC system for a new home I purchased. He arrived timely and was very professional and courteous. I was in the middle of a lot of renovation and had many different projects occurring at the house. While we were discussing the HVAC problem, he inquired on other plumbing work that was underway.
While I didn't mention this to Vince, I had been concerned about some of the plumbing work that was done by another company and if codes being met so when he questioned a few things I was very grateful for his inquiry. He went to great lengths to find code and to note what areas would be of great concern once the walls were closed up and I was living in the house. He even emailed me after his visit with code particulars that I could use to help articulate to the other company where the issues were found.
I am not an expert in plumbing work and would have been none the wiser had Vince not interrupted the HVAC discussion and brought them to my attention. By doing this, Vince saved me a lot of money and trouble down the road. He is knowledgeable and extremely helpful and worth a call if you have any HVAC or plumbing needs.

A very professional plumming company. I needed work on my main sewer line but I am on a single income budget. Their friendly Plumer Glen helped me come up with a plan to help me stay within my budget and get the repairs I needed done. Now everything goes down smooth the way it should.
I would definatly use these guys for any future needs.

The work they do seems fine, mostly, but we have had problems that took a few visits to resolve because some techs had wrong information. The scheduling can be a pain as they often call and want to reschedule. Also, the upsell pitch is pretty constant.

Two years ago I got same-day service for a blown AC thingy, on the hottest day of the summer. I was happy so I saved the magnet (and that part is still working just fine). Today I got great service on a different AC thingy, like a starter. (I'm not a technical person, as you can tell!) It was good service. They gave me a 2 hour window and Darryl arrived right in that window. Did an estimate, talked about options, I called to see what my better half thought, etc. My better half was like ""How long will this take? Do they have to order parts?"" and I was like ""About an hour, he's got a big truck full of extra parts."" That was a win, right there. And I thought it was nice that the service guy was careful about my flowers, near the AC unit.
The thing I really really liked was the dispatcher lady in the office called me 20 min before the guy arrived, to say that he would be there shortly. Having that 20 min warning is so nice. Last time, that 20 min warning gave me just enough time to run home from work (so I wasn't just waiting and waiting at home the whole time). This time I was home, but knowing that the call from the dispatcher would be coming, I could depend on that call and I didn't have to worry about being ready or listening for the door the entire time leading up to his arrival. I am keeping my magnet!

This is an update to my previous review of McDonald Plumbing on 6/24/14. Even though I was informed that I would not be allowed any contact with the owner of this business, Vince called me yesterday and we had a conversation about what occurred during the visit, events following the visit, and his rationale for the charges in the estimate and the estimate fee. He stands by the estimate and believes that it is the going market rate for an establishment of that size and he believes that the price reflects the professionalism and quality of information that the plumber provides. He did ask me if the plumber that visited my home to provide the estimate offered any value or information about my project. I told him that he didn't. I feel that he may have been disappointed about that fact, or he didn't believe me, it was hard to tell. He did offer my $49.50 back at the beginning of the call so long as I signed a release that I would not write a negative review. I told him we were past that point. We discussed some of his business practices and I reflected back to him how that is perceived by current and potential customers. One piece of information that I shared with him that I truly hope he heard is that it seems like he doesn't trust his customers, and at worst he doesn't like his customers. I took ownership of the fact that I did make a mistake by agreeing to pay for an estimate, and I have learned from it. There is no going back for me on that count. At the end of the call he decided to send me a check for the $49.50 without the release form and that my reviews will be something I will have to live with. Yes, I suppose I will have to live with them. I told him that I feel the issue is closed and I was past the refund given everything else that happened. I still don't know whether I will receive the check, nor do I believe I will cash it.

I don't need a plumber often but I was having guests for the weekend and much to my horror the only bathroom we have was all stopped up! A friend recommended McDonald Plumbing and I called them late afternoon on a Friday. They sent a plumber out right away (we live in Cameron Park), and he cleaned out the lines and cured my problem! The plumber was professional, prompt and when they were done the place as emulate! I thought the price was very fair. My guests never knew they was a problem!
If you need a great plumber call McDonald's. I know they are my plumber from now on!

Vince McDonald offered me $500 to remove a negative review. NO THANKS. He offered to fix my plumbing, ARE YOU KIDDING? I would never allow them in my home again. Now he is threatening me with a Breach of Contract suit, really? Stay away from this company.
