I had called regarding a malfunctioning tankless heater. The manufacturer reco'd a handful of authorized techs and this was one of them. Of the handful I called, Monkey Wrench actually had someone pick up, so kudos for them on that. Based on that, I proceeded with scheduling same day service. The woman on the line was very courteous and gave me a reasonable time window.

About 2 hours later, that time window changed into a later time. While disappointing, I understand these things happen. In the interim, the other plumbers called back but I held off since I had a Monkey tech on the way.

The tech arrived within the revised time window, and he was friendly guy. Courteous and was able to diagnose it right away. Actually, I had a feeling of what the problem was, and I was right. He replaced the part and within a few minutes, the heater was closed up and hot water was flowing.

Upon presentation of the bill, I was a bit taken by the cost, but paid anyway. After the fact I did some research and found the part that was replaced, and it's not much. I then followed up with some other plumbers and got quotes that were notably less than what I had paid.

Overall, good, friendly service, though in comparison I felt the price was a bit steep. I had to lower the score a bit for the high price and rescheduled service, but otherwise Monkey Wrench are good in my book- I would just get a few quotes if it's not an urgent job.

The water heater in my house was about 12 years old when it rusted out on a Friday afternoon. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day, and even made changes in the order of the new tank up til that night (when I realized I needed a different sized tank). The person who installed the new water heater, Wilder, arrived on time and was very nice to both me and my daughter, who was curious about the process of putting in a new water heater. The price was what was quoted, the work was done on time, Wilder was very nice and the new water heater is working very well. Wilder did a great job. I would use them again - and would request him by name.

Last week on Friday morning, because of the rains, we needed a sump pump to be replaced as soon as possible or the rising water would have damaged our storage items. Our home waranty company assigned a company that couldn't have cared less about re-prioritizing their service calls and coming to our home before Monday afternoon - even though it was clearly going to rain several more inches over the weekend.
Monkey Wrench Plumbing was at the house within an hour! And although they had to go get the part, they replaced very quickly. We were extremely pleased with this company, and recommend them highly.

I scheduled an appointment to have my water heater looked at and they gave me a time window. They plumber showed up an hour later than the window and no one called, I had to call them. However, even if they did call--it was like a 3 hour window so there really isn't a reason to be late.

They said they could replace the water heater but also wanted to do a ton of other work that seemed unnecessary I told them I only wanted the water heater changed to keep the cost down. They did not give me a price on the spot so I waited for an email quote that came in the next day. It was definitely more expensive than I was expecting (well over $1000) to change the water heater and a couple of connections. I went with someone else.

Had a problem with my hot water and contacted a different plumbing company, they came down and spent most of the day trying to fix it to no avail. Wasted my time, money and still no hot water.
I called monkey wrench and they sent one of there hot water technicians the next day. He determined the problem and provided a solution in under 25 minutes. Good responsible company, very respectful employee's and highly recommended.

This has got to be one of the best plumbing companies in LA. They were recommended by the company (Takagi) that makes my tankless water heater since I needed a repair. They were able to fix a rumbling sound that no other plumbers were able to fix. They also fixed some rattling pipes that others were unable to fix. Nice people too.

my shower was broken (that thing you pull on the faucet to turn the shower ""on"" was completely stuck) and the bathtub faucet was leaking. i wasn't in the mood to call my landlord so she could out one of her incompetent hacks and was willing to pay out of pocket to get it fixed but just hadn't taken the time to find a plumber. on my way home from work i saw a monkey wrench truck a few buildings down from mine so i asked him for a business card. he was just finishing up a job and said he could take look right now. he had the parts he needed in his truck and in less than an hour, i once again have a shower that works (and for a very reasonable price!)

I had a water heater (A O Smith) problem where the pilot would not stay lit. I called our regular plumber who said it was the thermocouple, but that he had never found that particular thermocouple. I searched Google for the manufacturer, typed in my zip code, and after calling a few plumbers on the list, and so not being satisfied, I came to Monkey Wrench. Mary answered the phone and was patient as I explained the problem, and not condescending in the least (something i hear a lot these days).
Today Josh showed up and solved the problem in 20 minutes. He says he's done about 75 of these and only once did he need to return due to a secondary problem.
I have great confidence that the job was donew right and that the life of my water heater has been extended a few more years.
Their refrigerator magnet is in place ready the next time I have a problem.

Woke up and my shower was cold. Monkey Wrench Plumbing came within the hour to fix it. He was so nice and fixed it pretty quickly. I would highly recommend them!
