Don't get caught up by the ads. I had a really poor experience. My AC is having trouble, so I called to schedule a service. The rep(s) on the phone were nice: typical 4-hour window, which isn't ideal, but it's standard and I get it. End of the window was 12pm.
Day before the appt, they called and asked if we could do an 11-1 window. I said that would be difficult. The rep did not ask to reschedule and said the tech would arrive by noon.
I never received a call or text until a seemingly automated text at 3:45 saying the tech was on the way. The tech arrived at 5:00. Then he said he couldn't even do the inspection if I was still interested because it was raining. What a joke.
Also, the ads bark on and on about franchises and how bad they are, so I found it interesting that the tech showed up in an ET Lawson truck but Millers jumpsuit. Are they contracting with other companies to handle the work they can't, after they bring in work based on their brand name? I'm not sure, but that wouldn't be all that different from what franchising accomplishes.
This company is a scam that overprices their services. Trust me. Avoid avoid avoid. Look at competitors
this place been giving me the run a round for a year when furnance was instaled last year it worked for 3 hours when my 85 year old mom called on sat morn they told her it would monday befor anyone would come out they have ben out 4 more times since then last time the sent some young guy that didnt have a clue 7 was very rud sure wish pallot oil was still in bussiness now that company the customer always came first this place SUCKS !!
We contacted Miller's in June when one of our AC units was functioning poorly. Unfortunately it was during a time frame of very hot weather so we had to wait three weeks for a service person to come look at our unit. We receIves two calls during that time verifying we still needed the service. The service tech explained what he found and discussed various options but suggested we talk to the ""salesperson"" to make a choice. We chose to replace the unit but George Gibbs was very honest and did not try to over sell to us. The new unit was installed there days later by Brandon and Jeremy. They were wonderful to work with. They were very courteous and respectful. They kept us informed as they proceeded through the day. We would not have known they were here except for necessary contact.
We live in Yorktown so traffic can be a challenge. Each contact kept us informed of any delays in arrival which we appreciated. Overall this was a good experience considering buying a new AC unit is not an everyday event.
BUYER BEWARE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS RUDE COMPANY AND ITS EMPLOYEES!! This company is so rude! Do not use: literally use any other service. They cursed my grandmother out after she tripped over the mess they left behind. She has so many medical bills due to this and I have heard no apology. Save your Money
I've been listening to the millers commercials since we moved to the area. ""Being franchised over"" is one of those things that sticks in your head. Had my heat go out and went with our regular guy and that's exactly what they did... Offered to install a new system, but not to fix the one I already had.Gave Miller's a call and what a delightful experience! They assessed my entire system, told me what I could do and what I needed to do. Gave me a number of options and solve my problem in half a morning... Not the ""will have the part in three days"".
I just wanted to say it is always a great decision to cal Miller's when my ac is on the fritz. Ryan gave a great explanation on why our unit was not working properly. Justin and Daniel saved the day by installing a part that was needed for our unit to work efficiently and they did not leave until they were satisfied with the result. Miller's has a great team with the people that work for them who truly care about serving their customers needs. Thank you for all that y'all do!! God bless!
The sales rep, Eric at Miller's Heating and A/C of Norfolk fraudulently sold us and installed a 2 year old system. Miller's sales rep did not identify that the 3-ton Ruud unit had been sitting outside in their compound for 2-years; and then they installed it. After installation, my husband noticed the scratches, dents and worn stickers and then discovered it was 2-years old. Miller's said it was the only unit available. Miller's is NOT trustworthy. Oh but they were really friendly to trick us into buying a 2-year old system. As of this date, June 22nd, Miller's apologized said they will install a new unit at a later date. Holding back the remaining 50% until new until is installed. Bad business practice. On the good side, the young guys who installed the old unit were awesome and don't want to downgrade their workmanship of installing the 3-ton Ruud unit.
Have had issues with my outside condenser unit frosting up badly, for the second year running. Had defrost panel replaced last winter, seemingly to no avail. This time I called Miller's based on a recommendation from a former employer. From the get-go it was a most wonderful experience. Marquita was extremely a delight when she took the call and transferred me to Kim who scheduled an appointment immediately. James Kennedy came to my rescue and replaced the TXV...then during this last cold snap, the frosting appeared again. He came out, assessed the problem...the ""new"" defrost board was defective. James knows his stuff!!! Have all the confidence and trust in him and the folks at Miller's. I would totally recommend Miller's to anyone, and James as well. What a professional...and a most congenial man! Thank you Miller's.
Winnie S.Three days ago I called and ended up speaking to an answering service because no one picked up the phone. I was asked and it was explained to me when my appointment was made that I would have to wait three days for them to come out and fix my heat in my home. I made an appointment for 3 o'clock because the scheduler told me that the tech had an earlier appointment for the day. At 4 o'clock when he was supposed to be already at my home he called and told me he was leaving the shop. Knowing that it gets dark starting at 4:30, I told him that it was going to be very difficult for him to do the work when it was dark and gave him very explicit directions on how to get to my home To speed things up. He ignored them and drove around and explained to me that he was even later than he normally would have been because there was heavy traffic and an accident on I 264. I asked him if he would be able to do the two things that I made the appoint for and he said all he was told was that I had no heat. He told me he wouldn't be able to fix it if he didn't have the parts with him. He said he was going to go in and evaluate the system and he said I didn't have any refrigerant and he needed to get into the air handler area. He was already very late and it was already dark. I called the office and when I did he called his supervisor and the supervisor told him to pick up his tools and leave. I called the company again when he left and asked that Mr. Miller contact me. That was two hours ago. I told them that when I went off to my next shift I would post a review of their non-compliance and non-work on my problem If I didn't hear back from them. My patience was certainly not rewarded nor was any possibility of respectful and professional service completed or even attempted to be completed. I don't know how this company has stayed in business. Stay away!
