Mike Stern Plumbing sent via our home warranty service to rental property in North Hollywood. Have requested not to have them dispatched to us again. Do not like to work with dishonest people. Very unprofessional. Go elsewhere!!

I had a problem with my water heater . My pilot would not stay lite . Spoke to Ana who was very polite and helpful on the phone . She sent out Serge within the hour he arrived and was very knowledgable he fixed the problem and charged me a very fair price .. Would recommend this company ! And will call them again if I have any plumbing problems

This company is full of crooks. They just came out to replace my water heater and tried to upsell me $315 for a new vent and pipes. I had my regular plumber come out and he said that there is nothing wrong with my pipes. When I called Mike Stern back I said I wanted to the water heater replaced with our current pipes they said no and the reason was that the technician recommended the new pipes. I re-iterated that it was a recommendation and not a requirement and they hung up on me. RUDE CROOKS.

Got Serge. He is the man! After reading some of Serge's positive reviews, I was elated to get him. Very professional, accommodating and knowledgeable. Every relevant detail was explained to me. If you get Serge, you got one hell of a plumber and you should consider yourself fortunate.

I had 2 bad experiences with them. Since they are the contractor that my home warranty sends to our house I had no other choice. The old man comes in a very bad mood, and does even listen to what you say the problem is. So I had this leak under my sink, and I noticed that not only the faucet but the angle stopper both had leaks. I called my home warranty and they asked me to call Mike n Stern plumbing. They set up a time to send someone in (and I was hoping that this time is not the old man who came the previous time; he is cranky, does not pay much attention to what you say and does not explain at all. He kind of left right away saying on his way out that they won't cover this and that they will send you a bill!!!). They sent him again. He did not have a close look, opened the faucet for few minutes and then said its your faucet and First American (my home warranty) does not cover this and left almost right away without letting me explain that we noticed a second leak in the angle stopper. But I told him if I changed the faucet and it leaked again I am going to ask for a recall. And I was right. I had to ask for a recall but I asked my home warranty to send a plumber from a different company cause apparently this man is Mike n Stern senor plumber with 20 years of experience!

If you get Serg, you have yourself one amazing plumber. He is efficient, courteous and honest. My husband and I were so impressed with his willingness to help us solve and fix our plumbing leak. We would definitely recommend Serg to anyone!

Wow!! I'm actually really surprised by the other comments about this company because my husband and I were totally impressed. We had a plumber named Serge come to our house. He was extremely efficient and very nice. We had him fix a sink stopper, a faucet handle, a disposal, and a shower nozzle. He was done in no time and was friendly throughout the process. Would definitely recommend him!

In 2010 I needed to have my 85 year old home I just bought re-piped and called on Mike Stern. I was out of town so my real estate agent met with him to get the estimate. When they arrived to do the work, they were not told that I was remodeling the kitchen or turning the laundry room into a second bathroom, but Steve Ortiz the owner took it in stride and worked with me to get the job done and schedule around the remodel.
Just a few days ago I received a letter in the mail that the permit for my new heating and cooling system (performed by another company) was about to expire. I looked through all my old permits and that one was not given to me. However I also saw another permit that did not have initials on it. I called Anna (the best receptionist in the world) and asked if she could look into it and see if I needed to schedule an inspection for that one too. She called the city yesterday and called me back to tell me that the permit was completed but I had another one (HVAC) that was open and about to expire so she set up an inspection for today. This was not their permit (although they did the gas line for the HVAC unit), but she set up the inspection anyway. This is the kind of customer service that goes above and beyond and I will definitely use them again.

Sterns Plumbing is without a doubt my ""go to"" company and would be at the top of my list on recommendations.. I've been a customer of theirs for about 3 years now and from the ladies answering the phone, to Robert or Greg coming out for a backed up toilet, or even the OWNER Steve installing my water heater. All I have to say is not good , but great things about this company. Your service is appreciated Mike Stern Plumbing.
