Had my water heater stop working over the weekend and wasn't sure what was wrong with it. With it being a newer water heater, I called a Mike Kimble's plumbers and they told me it was most likely the thermocouple that had gone and they could come service it first thing Sunday morning at 8 AM. I was shocked they were able to accommodate me so quickly. Edgar showed up right on time and came out and took a look and wasn't able to get the pilot to light. Upon his inspection, he saw a little water in the holding pan and told me the water heater was shot. Knowing we were renters and I wasn't authorized to replace the entire heater, he advised me to get in touch with the property owner and inform him of the situation. Feeling bad for us, he told me the least he could do is not charge us. It's this level of personalized service and humanity that will make Mike Kimble plumbers stand out in my mind and I will Be actively referring them to friends and family. Thanks for having Edgar on your team, he truly stood out in our time of need.

I called and arranged a plumber to be at my house at 3:30 ""or after"" today. I made this appointment on Tuesday. I even called earlier today (Thursday) from work to be sure that this time was set and was told it was. I left work early and was at home by 3:15. Apparently, they called my cell at 3:59pm to say they had a plumber available. However, I missed the call (getting ready for the plumber) and by the time I called back they said the plumber was no longer available and they couldn't send one out until tomorrow. My expectation, which I articulated on the phone to them earlier in the day, was that the plumber would arrive at 3:30 or after. So no plumber available - so no business from me. I cancelled. I guess the Yelp reviews are right on.

Mike Kimble Plumbing was our go to for plumbing needs. Historically they have been very professional, courteous, and timely.
However, during our latest call a few things happened that soured our experience with them.
We had no idea they start charging in hourly increments as soon as they dispatch a plumber. In addition, my wife was out when she called their office. Person on the other end mentioned it would take the plumber 45 min to get to our place. He showed up in 15 min and waited till my wife got home in another 15 min. We were initially charged for the full hour. They took off 30 min after we complained.
The plumber did not correctly install any of the 2 popup stopper in our sinks. Both of them get stuck if you go up and down with them a few times. In addition, one of them was installed with the lift-rod sticking half-way even with the pop-up plug pushed up. That is just not right.
Their hourly charges are on the higher end. Historically, this was justified due to their outstanding efficiency and workmanship. However, this time around they were slow in getting their stuff done and the work was not up to par.
We are quite disappointed with this business and will look for a different plumbing company for future plumbing needs.

Issue #1: No show for a scheduled appointment I took the day off work & waited all day for. Lied about trying to reach me by phone, then didn't bother to return my message when trying to reschedule. So I called a different company who showed up on time and fixed my problem for less than half of what Mike Kimball quoted me.

Issue #2: I live in a condo. My water was shut off w/o notice today while I was in the shower. I dressed and went outside w shampoo still in my hair to ask what's going on & an older heavy set man in a Mike Kimball truck says ""what do you want me to do? We're working outside & it'll be all day."" I asked if he couldn't just knock on the door 1st...I have a house full of kids that still need to shower. He answered w a sarcastic tone saying ""I'm not gonna go knocking on doors if you have a problem talk to the manager"". Our condo management company likes to use them exclusively.

I used to think they had a good rep but unprofessional behavior such as a no show, lying about calling me several times, along with over priced quotes and rude staff is plenty of reason not to call them again. I'm a firm believer that if a person will lie to you about the small things they won't hesitate to lie about the big things as well.

Update: the plumbers outside have managed to jackhammer their way through the gas line and now we're w/o water and gas. Plumbers have been lounging idly on their cell phones for the last 2 hours while the gas company tries to resolve the issue with the gas line. I was only made aware of this when the gas company sent me a notification of two service calls made by Mike Kimball plumbing to my address. Again none of the plumbers ever knocked on my door to let me know that my water or gas was being shut down.

As a property management company in Ventura county, we use Mike Kimble Plumbing for all our work. They respond quickly and get the job done right! A major part of our business is after hour calls and even the 2am phone calls get the plumber out of bed to take care of the issues. Whenever anything major is needed, Jason or Mike calls to inform us ahead of time so we can alert the owner of the property. This is so vital to our company and we really appreciate the follow up and helpfulness of this company. Another great thing about Kimble Plumbing is the people in the office and their ability to answer questions quickly. Sarah, Tammy, and Jen are all amazing and handle their business with courtesy and professionalism. Their prices are competitive and they always fix the problem! We highly recommend them and will continue to use them in the future!

Used several times and he has never let us down. Turn around time is quick and he makes it the same day. What I liked most is that he quotes right away and doesn't B.S you with terminology like most plumbers do to make their job seem more expensive or important than it is. Will definitely use him as my permanent plumber.

We've always had a good experience with Mike Kimble Plumbing. They did a good job on a repipe on our house a few years ago. Since then, we have used them a number of times for routine plumbing problems, including some clogged drains last week. I have found them honest, competent, appropriate prices.

Unbelievable! I had an appointment to get my water heater replaced today. They gave my husband a price of $1,200 to $1,400 for a 40 gallon size tank replacement. I called them and asked how much the actual water heater is and to break down the price. They told me $595 for the water heater and the other money is for other parts and the two guys to do the work. I told them that its drained and ready to get replaced and asked if there is a price break (maybe at $115/hour they could cut an hour off the labor since we did the labor). At the end of the conversation, Mike cancelled my appointment and will not be coming to fix my problem. I have used this company for the past 15 years and have had my water heater replaced twice by them. I cannot believe, even after pleading with the guy, that he cancelled on me. Apparently they don't like to be questioned about their price. Makes them seem shady to me. I no longer trust this company and would not let them in my house to do any repairs again. I will also let my family know so they can use a different plumber as well.

Thank God they told me they will not come out to replace my water heater. I have three other quotes from local plumbers - each quote is at $900!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are ripping people off at this company! I am glad I was forced to shop around. I will post how the new plumber is once they are done and list their name so y'all have a better option than this crappy company.

It pays to shop around. Same work different plumber. Only $985 total! Thanks Mike Kimble for refusing to come to my house. You have plenty of other customers to rip off! Sorry I ever gave you guys business!!!
