Mike Counsil rescued me again during a tumultuous holiday season! The delivery of my washer failed twice because the delivery persons insisted something was wrong with the water lines. Daniel came out on New Year's Eve, yes the holiday, charging a minimal extra charge. He took at look and identified the broken knob problem and went looking. Store closings required him to delay his search after not finding it. He texted me to explain the delay and items I was confused about. Bright and early before I expected them James showed up sent by Daniel, multiple knobs in hand along with a calming and generous demeanor. Fixed everything and we were all set.

But...it happened again. The delivery person said they couldn't hook my washer because they couldn't turn the water off and I needed to call a plumber. You can imagine my dismay.

I called Celeste today and she reached James who altered his schedule to come over and help us. There was nothing wrong with our line. But James who had warned me about delivery guys looking for reasons to move on and not deliver, took minutes and set everything up so there will be no problem because the delivery people have everything setup for them.

This is why I have used Mike Counsil for decades. They charge you for the job but don't stop working until it is finished, even on occasions like this when it was not their fault. Thanks Daniel and James you made my holiday better.

Mike Counsil did an excellent job replacing my water heater. They showed up on the same day I called and walked me through the options and explained all the possible causes for the heater's problem. Richard did an excellent job with the actual removal and install and made sure everything was brought up to code. He worked late to make sure we still had hot water that same night. They arranged for city inspection which went through without a hitch. Price was similar to another quote from an independent plumber who probably wouldn't have arranged for the inspection.

OVERPRICED! We had a gas leak and had to call in a leak detection service and then a plumber to fix the leak. Was referred to Mike Counsil Plumbing. The gas leak was on a connector only about 2 feet down off the back of the house, very easy to get to. Also need reconnecting of the propane tank to the line to the house. The quote to fix the connector leak in the ground was $2264 and quote to reconnect to the propane tank was $1168. I'm sorry but that is outrageous! We hired another plumber who fixed both items for $425 (we bought the pipes to connect to the propane tank $99). How can someone justify these exorbitant prices?

Our sewer pipe under the house was leaking, and as my husband and I have talked about copper repiping for years this seemed like the perfect time. James and Louis were so professional, neat, and informative. Mike Counsil employees take pride in their work and pay close attention to detail.

They over charged me, come to find out the lead tech is on commission, the higher the bill the more they make.
After ""repairing "" they had to return, the leak was worse than before, damaged sheet rock flooded the garage.
They even borrowed my tools, since they forgot theirs.

I called Mike Counsil Plumbing because I had a clogged drain in my master bath sink. The technician came out promptly at the scheduled time and I thought ""Hey, off to a good start"". He comes in to look at the drain and instead of trying to get it unclogged he starts checking things out and wants to go under the house to check the plumbing. I said that I only want to clear the clog and he might need to snake the cleanout. He says that he wants to snake it from out in the street. What!? I explained to him that I wasn't looking to spend unnecessary money on a clogged drain and could he please just snake the cleanout and/or the sink drain to clear the clog. So he looks in his price guide and wants to charge me over $400. At that point I asked him to leave. I give him bonus points for not charging the $89 show-up fee though. I should have known. I got the impression from the second he came in the house that the up-selling would commence and it did. I would definitely not recommend this outfit, but I guess they have to pay for the radio ads.

I must say that James and Louis arrived on time and were very professional. They introduced themselves and made me very comfortable letting them in my home. Once I showed them the issue I needed corrected, they instantly gave me a reasonable quote and a very good time period (same day). They went far and beyond finding the parts needed and did whatever it took to get them. From the time they knocked on my door to the completion of the job, they both maintained covid protection and made sure the area they worked in was clean and safe. I will definitely continue to use Mike Counsil Plumming & Rooter for future plumbing issue due to both James and Louis.

Very disappointing! 2 min into the consultation the recommendation was to replace my gas water heater for a few thousand bucks. No detailed trouble shooting or root cause analysis, no attempt to light the pilot, etc.

When I said I would rather fix the heater, 3 potential parts were listed. It was suggested that parts would take days to come and it would be around $1K. Very clear sales tactics to try and upsell me to just replace.

Turns out a thermocouple costs $15, is standard for most heaters and was readily available at Lowes. Bought that and got another plumber to install.

Maybe only a quarter star. Remembering the pushy Up Selling of work that did not need to be done. A plumber friend dropped by and then Mikes guys backed down to less than one third his attempted ""big deal"" they tried to push..
