What was supposed to be a quick Stop Valve change under my sink turned into a broken pipe in my bathroom wall. Luckily, I had the water off, but the entire house water was off and could not be turned back on until the problem was fixed. It turned out the galvanized steel nipple out the wall was corroded and ""sweated"" or welded on. Nothing I could do but call a plumber to have it fixed.

I called about 8 different places, half of which did not answer or call back. Others were charging by the hour. It was between Mike Council and another plumber. Mike Council was able to come out same day!

Mike Council immediately answered and was very professional. They got a plumber, Kevin B., out within an hour and he assessed the situation. They called back when they said they would and he arrived when they said he would.

Kevin was professional, polite and knowledgeable. He cut out the old pipe and installed new copper fittings in about an hour. Kevin also explained why the Home Depot bought stop valves I was about to use would not last as long, so he went ahead and put some all metal stop valves in. I am so glad I didn't have to take a day off later in the week to deal with the plumbing situation.

Our technical was at our house within 30 min of the late Friday night call. He did a fair and thorough assessment and presented me with multiple options.

Though a little more expensive than some other alternatives, I feel that the quality of his work and especially his ability to work us into a schedule that met our needs more than made up for the overall sticker shock.

He was back the next morning (on his birthday mind you) to install our new water heater. In under 3 hours he was done and hot water was restored.

I have been calling Mike Counsil Plumbing for almost 20 years when we need help, and they always deliver.

Yesterday we had a pipe fail in the shower and we called them at about 1 PM. They were able to send a guy (Jaime) out by 7 PM and he repaired the system and had it running in 45 minutes.

Prompt, professional and reliable -- as always. No complaints whatsoever...

I have been very pleased with the service we've received from Mike Counsil Plumbing. Both times I've called have been emergency situations and they were very responsive. Dave and Joseph worked hard to get us up and running as quickly as possible and to reduce the amount of time we were without working facilities. They left our home spotless when they were done.

Aaron did a really great job. Our toilette wasn't flushing and after proper analysis he concluded the problem was our old toilette. Aaron was able to change the toilette on the spot. The only reason why I didn't give him 5 stars was because of a small scheduling conflict. Once he got here all went really well. Would recommend again.

We were in need of replacing a water heater and rather than my husband doing it by himself he gave Mike Counsil Plumbing a call.
They came out on a Sunday, which really surprised and impressed me. The two installers (Chris and Victor) did an awesome job. They were both very customer service oriented and we're professional, knowledgeable, and got the job done within a few hours.
Their supervisor Jaime came out a few days later to make sure all was well and was great to work with as well.
I would highly recommend this company to anyone!!!!

I called this agency because it is nearby and family owned and operated. The phone staff person was courteous, the technician, Eric Rich arrived promptly and greeted me and my golden retriever ""watchdog"" cheerfully. Eric quickly assessed the problem with my toilet and could not fix it because it is an off brand. He was able to contact the manufacturer and get me a new part under warranty. He also did a safety inspection under the house and fixed a shower head all for the very reasonable service call price. He explained everything fully, was respectful and friendly as well as efficient. I will use this company again. Eric is happy working for them and it is evident tin the quality of his work.

Bizzare business practices make you wonder how these people stay in business. I have a very simple little project. (Replace a 5 gallon instant hot water heater under the sink.) Counsil charges a $89 minimum... but will not tell you what his hourly rate is. Supposedly the charge is ""by the job"", but there is no standard charge for any job, no matter how simple. Translation: Counsil will come out to your house and quote you a price that may or may not be reasonable but he won't tell how he came up with that price.

I'm updating my review of the company for a couple of reasons but the main reason is the personal attention Jaime gave to me.

1. After I called and complained, their customer service representative (Jaime) came out to talk to me.
2. He agreed with my complaint and personally saw to it that everything got fixed.
3. He was in constant contact with me, phone and email so I always knew what was going on and when things were being worked on.
4. They fixed a couple of the problems with the original installation that I wasn't happy with.
5. He brought someone over to clean up the mess that I shouldn't have had to complain about.
6. He was here for the inspection to make sure everything was done properly.

In summary, they made it right in every way possible. I can't go all the way to 5 stars on principal because I had to go through some hassle to get to this point. If they had started this way, then they would have gotten 5 stars. I've noticed some people complain about their prices but I don't think they were bad, the issue was simply service.

I hope Yelp posts this review because for some reason they don't post them all which doesn't seem fair to any company getting reviewed. They should let you easily see everything, not only what they deem ""relevant"".

Jerry B. did a fantastic job replacing our water heater. Our water heater was leaking for days and we've had to save the water using buckets and use it to wash our dishes.
