Complete Idiots. To all Plumbers out there, this IS the company that gives the rest a bad name! I used Home Advisor to get in contact with these people and had a call from them this morning. I explained to the lady that I need to have an RO water filtration system installed under my sink and I have all the hardware. She said she couldn't give me an estimate until someone came out to look. I then told her I just needed a high and low cost so that I can just have them come out and do the job. The lady gets back on the phone and said after talking to her supervisor that installation would cost $900-1000! Are you kidding me! I asked her if she had the correct price and told her again that I have all the equipment, and she said she told the supervisor that and this is only for an install. I also told her it must be nice to charge over $300 per hour! Wonder what kind of house the owner lives in? She told me she would recheck the pricing and call me back.....guess what, 2 hours and still no call, imagine that. 1 hour later I had a different plumber call me back and said he would do it for $275. What a rip off. I will be going to every online site to let EVERONE know about this poor excuse of a company! If I could rate no stars I would.

Very good experience. This was a fairly simple job (toilet replacement with low usage version). But since it was upstairs, the old one had to be lugged down and the new one lugged up. I was delighted at how pain free the experience was. The technician James explained everything very well, left everything spice and span.

Just called Mike counsill plumbing today to replace the water heater.. The 2 guys that came out were very please ant and helpful and git a new water Hester installed as fast as they could so my bed and breakfast could get up and running again!

We have used Mike Cousil for electrical, gas and plumbing work. Recently we had a major plumbing problem that their firm solved for us. We found Glen and Jaime, to be very through in their recommended solutions. We also felt Silas and Freddy kept our house very clean and communicated each step. Our experience with MC was the people are professional and experienced in the way they engage their customers. For instance, when they discovered the cause of our plumbing problem, Silas explained the issue, provided a full quote and clear timeline for completion. The quote was done from a standard pricing book, which made it feel like we weren't being ""taken"". Glen and Jaime stopped by often and used the same quoting process, so I felt comfortable with their quote. I could have done multiple bids, but in the end it was the process Mike Counsil's people deployed on-site that made us feel 100% comfortable going with them.

They communicated every step of the way with full disclosure and were always clear on the next steps. We always knew when they were coming and going, what we had to do, and they worked around our schedule as best as possible. We had five different individuals working on this project and each one was very professional courteous.

We felt the results of the job were very professional and thorough. The city inspection went well, which is to be expected when you're using a company like Mike Counsil.

I would recommend Mike Counsil for plumbing (big or small), electrical (again big or small) and or gas work.

Too expensive!!!! Exact same story as other reviewer took advantage of my parents elderly parents mind you. Tenant without gas for days while these same guys tried to get me to repipe house at an outrageous cost. All there technology and couldn't find the leak. Very disappointed in this company went from 10000.00 quote and paid another plumber 1500!!!

Like many others have said, this company is obscenely expensive and does not deliver on what they promise. While my in-laws were watching my house, our sewer line backed up. Our normal plumber was on vacation so they called Mike Counsil. They quoted my in-laws $500 just to snake the line. My in-laws were in a hurry to get it fixed so they agreed. Less than a week later the line was backed up again. I called Mike Counsil and asked them to come finish the job I had paid 500 dollars for already. They claimed no warranty on the work and quoted me $500 more to come out and fix the problem again. I called my normal plumber and he snaked the line, and siad that the line was jammed with roots and other items and that it was clear that whoever had done the work did a terrible job. I saw the camera images, and there were huge roots in the line that had not been cleared. I called Mike Counsil to speak to them about negotiating the rate lower and they never returned my call. I called them back again and still no word. So, the worst of all worlds - terrible service, massively overpriced, and horrible customer service.

The electrician from Mike Council Plumbing & Electric did not show up for the original scheduled appointment time. The appointment was rescheduled twice. The office told us the $89 fee (just for showing up) would be waved for first time customers. The guy who showed up knew nothing about the waved fee and then proceeded to says it will be waved only if they do the work, which was never divulged prior to the appointment. They were given the okay to proceed based on their dubious ""after rule"" so that the $89 fee would not be charged for nothing... it gets worse.

They charged $74 per outlet just to remove the wall outlet face plate. The electrician was here less than an hour for a total charge of $370, for absolutely nothing. He did not repair anything nor did he find where the problem exists. Mike Council Plumbing and Electric is no longer welcome inside this home. This is a ""per hour"" job, not a per item (as quoted by another electrician). Mike Council Plumbing & Electric took advantage of a desperate situation and elderly woman.

Too expensive. I was quoted $592 to replace a couple of hose bibs (for washing machine) -- if it was easy (which I already tried), and $1000 if it took more than putting a wrench on it and replacing the plastic enclosure box. Long story short, I paid the ""trip charge"" which $89 to get an outrageous quote. They only charge by the job, not by the hour. I ended up doing the job myself (with help from a friend) in about an hour. The plumber that came was professional, courteous, etc... just way too expensive. Had they been reasonable, I would have been more than happy to not have to do plumbing, but I did not feel that i should be paying brain surgeon rates for plumbing services.

My water heater's anode rod is going out. I called them to see what the cost would be to replace it and I was quoted $89 for the trip charge and $534 for the diagnostic and minor repair plus parts! Wow! That is half the cost of replacing the water heater! My goodness! Needless to say, I declined to have someone come out. (SMH)

I had MC Plumbing come out to my mom's house last Friday to fix a flooding toilet. The guy was there in about an hour as promised and was professional. There were a couple problems. First, after checking the situation, he comes back to my mother (a senior with dementia) with a quote of $1500! Besides augering the toilet, it included replacing a 2ft pipe and the ring around the base of the toilet! I only asked for the toilet to be unplugged. I did not appreciate the inflated quote. I asked him to only auger the toilet, which he did. (for $255!) He also tried hard to sell her a ""maintenance warranty"". I shudder to think what would have happened if I had no bee there to stop him from taking advantage of my mother. In the end, the toilet only worked for 3 days. I called another plumber RCV PLUMBING who fixed it immediately (by auger), was on time and charged very little. By the way, after Mr Vilfroy's assessment, there was NO OTHER WORK NEEDED! I am very glad I did not have my mother pay for all that unnecessary work!
