If I could give negative stars, I would!!! Robbers without guns! Beware of Mid City Plumbing!
These guys came out to put a steam unit in our existing shower. Okay professional at first. Had to sign contract first, half of the money up front, great.
Second, different set of guys came out to remove trim work and toilet in same bathroom where steam will go. Okay on the spot $305.
Called them to put back same trim and toilet they removed, different guy came, said my bathroom was a mess, didn't even finish replacing all the trim.
Called back to say hey stuff is hanging in my shower! Sent a different set of guys who didn't put back toilet yet.
Received a call from Mid City saying I need your credit card for $385!!! For what??? To put trim back on in shower. Not even $305, $385!!!!
For the kicker, they will charge us again to put back toilet they removed!!!!!!
Found these guys on Yelp, will never use Yelp to find trades again. I think these guys write their own 5 star reviews!!
If you use them, beware of extra costs.
Sean A.We called them, told them exactly what they needed. They came out fixed a leaky faucet, a leaky bathroom showroom pipe, replaced our bathtub spout...asked if they knew of any electricians...and they said they had one on staff. He came a couple days later and fixed a couple items....all the guys who came out were professional, honest and very nice. I'm going to need more work and will call them again...highly recommended.
Christine G.Mid-city is great! Called on a Monday morning about replacing my water heater, they quoted over the phone and were at my house before 10. Left us with a new water heater and NO mess.
Emily S.Midcity Plumbing is without a doubt the best plumbing company in Chicago! I have had multiple emergencies over the last 7 years I have lived in my home and they have always been timely in their responses to my calls, respectful, professional and excellent at the work they provide. I will never use any other companies for my plumbing needs. I totally recommend them to everyone!!! Hopefully, you folks won't have issues with your homes, but if you do call Midcity!
What can I say about this great Plumbing Service, They rock! Outstanding Customer Service!!! They care about you! I found this company online and took a chance and I'm extremely happy with their commitment and service. I will call them for service all the time and refer them as well.
I called Mid City with an emergency.....the day before I was to leave on vacation I had waste backing up in the downstairs bathroom.
(Originally called Dan Cox, AHS Plumbing , the guy who originally who did a major $6K plumbing job last year for this very reason, who didn't even return my call.)
Mid City answered, took my name and number, called me back within a few hours and arrived a short time later to rescue me! They were able to diagnose the problem, and fix it in a short amount of time costing a minimal amount of money!
They were very polite, explaining what they were doing, and were careful with my property/ flooring, using dropcloths when necessary. .
I would definitely use them again and would recomend them to my friends and neighbors.
Had MidCity install an overhead sewer system last week. They did an excellent job and left the house in great shape. They said they would be there at 7 am and they were there exactly at 7 am. Prices were very competitive. Went above and beyond my expectations and were very prepared and willing to handle additional items/repairs as need throughout the project. I liked the fact that the owner was on site and working as well as his crew. Would highly recommend them for anything. Very professional and a pleasure to work with.
Ken L.Wow. These guys don't mess around. Called after hours on a Thursday and talked to their answering service. Mario called me back in under a minute to find out what was going on and said he could send someone out in the morning. Next morning, before business hours, Mario called again to make sure I was home and said a guy would be coming over in the morning. Within 10 minutes the truck showed up. Mike and Adrian could not have been better. They wasted no time getting to the ""root"" of the problem and rodded out our sewer line. In and out in about an hour. Professional, efficient, friendly, affordable. I would definitely call them again for any of my plumbing needs. And did I mention, they don't charge for service calls.
Lisa L.Mid-City was recommended by a neighbor. They are excellent and reasonable. They resolved a puzzling problem. You really can't go
wrong using them. I am switching over to them for all my plumbing
needs.
Had Midcity out to rod the roots out of our sewer, but after a couple of hours of work, Dave informed me that the roots were too built up for them to get from the existing access. We needed to have an exterior access installed, which meant digging up the sewer line. A huge $$$ hit compared to a simple rodding. He gave us an estimate, and told us they wouldn't charge us for the rodding he'd done.
When Mario and his crew showed up, they ended up having to dig twice as deep as they'd thought to get to the pipe, broke out the old line, put in a new section with the clean out access, cleaned everything up and were done around midday. Mario told me before he left that he'd schedule for them to be back in the spring to add more fill after the excavation settled, and invoiced me for the exact amount of the estimate, no extra charge for the deeper dig. An hour later a 2nd crew showed up to completely rod out the line from the house to the street, which took them until after 5:00. All told a solid full day, with 5 guys involved.
I've since spoken with friends that have had similar work done, and Midcity's price was very competitive. But their level of expertise, the pristine condition they left our front yard in, and their thoroughness put them over the top..Very highly recommended. They made a homeowner's nightmare as bearable as possible.
Oh, and they did all of this on one of the coldest days this February.
