Would give zero stars if I could. Do not call this company. When we called to have our sewer line looked at/cleared, they sent two separate trucks which was unnecessary. Proceeded to bill us for the two separate guys being here. I have had my sewer line cleaned out/inspected before and never needed two guys to do it. Each guy had a line item on the bill! Are you kidding?! The fee was hourly but they sat in their truck for a good while writing up their bill and rounded up to the hour. Charged for the camera (did they buy a new camera and needed it for this visit?). Then charged us a $75 service fee on top of the two fees. Hmmm.... what was that for? It was a very expensive diagnostic look in the pipe (about $650 with tax). One of the two told us the pipe had separated and they could replace or fix it for ""About $5000"" (no written estimate- more like a guesstimate). We called and spoke to someone at Messick later in the day to complain directly and we were told that they always send 2 people out and bill that way. The person relayed that they have to keep these guys employed. No apologies and no offer of applying some of that cost to the project. If that had happened, I would not be sitting here writing this negative review!
We felt so gouged by this company and wary of their ""guesstimate"" that we called a different company the next day and had the line replaced for about the same cost. Messick lost our 5K due to their greediness and shabby treatment. Shame on this company!

DO NOT USE MICHAEL J MESSICK PLUMBING!!! They are dishonest, quoted me for work I did not need, charged an extortionate fee ($315) to tell me what needed to be replaced (which I already told them over the phone), and then they billed my credit card twice for that 20 minute visit. After getting a number of quotes, I used another vendor to replace my septic pump for $2300 less than this company's quote. Scam artists.

Messick Plumbing should be avoided at all cost. They overcharged me by a lot, including a labor charge of 1.5 hours for 45 minute work, a check valve for $75 (you can get it from Home Depot for $16), and a miscellaneous charge of $70 for unidentified parts!

I'm only allowed to leave a review if they get a star so take your unwarranted star and go.

We had an issue with our water turning off inside the house if the hose was running. Spent $600 for them to replace the water filtration filter and the air bladder in our well pump. We were told to do both more often and should be checked every couple of years. Fair. We bought the house in 2020 and hadn't serviced the well pump yet and it is now on a schedule to be serviced every 3 years with our septic tank, which is due for service in 2023 per recommended guidelines.

The very same day, the issue persists. Ran the hose, water in the house turned off. Hose turned off. We don't get a call back for hours. We are told they can come out the next day, I imagine so the same person can come back out since they're acquainted with the issue. Fine.

They come back out the next morning (today).

First I have to spend several minutes being talked to like I'm incompetent and simply don't know how the well works in the house I've owned and maintained for two years. I'm told we didn't follow directions and his recommendation the day before. I advise again this is a new issue and has not happened before in the years we owned the house. I have to guide him to the hose, turn it on, and direct him to the sink that immediately doesn't run water inside the house. Suddenly there seems to be an issue other than my perceived competence that he needs to investigate. Clearly me explaining the issue was not enough, but perhaps I just give off an air of stupidity that my partner doesn't.

The water filter is again clogged with iron. We were told it's simply the way it is and we just may have a low well water line and we should consider having water delivered for our pool, which none of our neighbors have done since we bought our house, the prior owner did not do, and as pools are opening I don't see anyone doing that.

He hooked up the hose to the outlet before the water filtration and it worked fine inside the house at the same time and was again advised not to use the hose for too long.

Now, that may be correct and it's the water line of the well. That does happen.

However, this indicates to me that there's an issue of iron buildup inside the well pipes since this is a brand new issue. If a pipe is suddenly filtering iron in a capacity that clogs the water filtration system, that seems like an issue that should be treated as a problem with the well or pipes, not purely for user error.

This wasn't checked. I was simply told ""well don't use the well like that."" This is akin to telling a doctor that ""it hurts when I bend my elbow"" and being given the advice ""don't bend your elbow"" without any sort of diagnosis.

I was also told we simply aren't allowing the water to refill. Considering that we've been away for three weeks and this issue happened immediately on our return, I'm going to have to say we haven't been taxing our well pump that much. We got home Monday at 1am. The issue was immediate on Monday afternoon. Haven't done laundry yet. Didn't even run the dishwasher. We took a shower.

I then had the privilege of spending $200 more for them to switch out the filter again (which I had in my home, not a filter they provided) to be told that it's just the way it is and don't use the hose.

Please save your money. Find a trained dolphin to learn to walk on land. They seem to know more about water.

Plumber John arrived several hours after call for service. Can't beat that. He knew about all the options for clearing a drain stoppage and tried them one by one until a drum snake worked. All costs were detailed up front. I have no complaints about the entire experience. The bottom line is that I would call Messick Plumbing again for future service.

One star only because this the lowest Yelp allows. I used to use these guys, but they have rapidly become just awful. Had a drip leak that I identified. Messick sent out a useless tech who could not find leak. Ran faucets for 5 minutes and was unable to fix. Then I got a bill for 224.00. Do not use them.

I have told all of my neighbors and friends and offered alternatives. These guys have become big shots and care about max billing only. As with Google they only have 5 star or 1 star reviews, very few in between. This shows that you will pay absolute top dollar and may get your issue resolved, although probably not without a bevy of upcharges.

If there were negative stars I would use them. They said they can handle any job and have all the materials on the truck they would need. They showed up late but charge for when they were supposed to arrive, had nothing on the truck they needed and made several trips for supplies and seemed to come back with something different to eat each time while they stood around figuring out what to do. The 1-2 hr fix turned into an 8 hr day and they even sat in the truck for 30 minutes to write up the bill and that time is included in your bill. Very dishonest and inexperienced.

They came to inspect a developing sinkhole around one of our field clean outs. Last week they canceled and rescheduled appointment at the last minute. Arrived at 8:35. Signed the paper that I agree to hourly rate of $155. He said would take 20 mins. After 30 mins he sat in his truck to write up invoice. That took 25 mins. When he got out he was still under an hour. He had put down 1.5 hours when he was writing it up in the truck, when it wasn't close to being over an hour. Very dishonest approach. Lost several repeat customers today. And wasted my time.

Dishonesty Plumbing & Heating is what they should change their name to. If you're going to swindle folks out of their money you might as well own it!

I saw a plumber working at a favorite
restaurant. Wanted to add a lever to
turn my water for my washer machine
on and off. He showed me the lever and said it would take about an hour $148
plus $50 for the trip charge. I made an
appt. The plumber came out, said he
would have to cut through walls.
I said I didn't have the money. At this
scary time, when I am out of work, he
charged me $200 to tell me it would
not be a simple job. NO WORK WAS
DONE. They charged me $200.00
for coming out. Buyer Beware!
May I be the only one ripped off
by this unethical charge. I would
have been upset to pay the $50.00
service charge, but I would not
be writing this. I will NEVER use them,
or recommend them to anyone.
This is no way to run a business!
But, obviously, they don't care.
