I have been a customer of McLay Service for years and have always found them to be excellent! Recently, my water bill was quite high and I was very concerned that there could be a huge plumbing problem in my home. I called McLay Services and the response was fast! The service was thorough, efficient, and very affordable. After Brian ruled-out any house leak, he found the problem was due to the sprinkler system. The plan to remedy this was straightforward and honest. In addition to being helpful, he was creditable in informing me that while he would be able to correct the problem, my gardener would be able to do this for less cost. 100% for integrity, skill, and manners!

Our shower drain was slow, but had cleared up by the time the tech arrived. He said he could go ahead and clean it for $145 and we said yes. I think he did good work, but when we got the bill, it was for $225. I called McLay to ask for an explanation for the upcharge, and they said that they would get back to me, but never did. Finally I decided it was easier to pay the additional $80 than to keep arguing with them, but it's a dishonest practice. I will consider using them again only if we are able to get a written estimate, since apparently a verbal one will not necessarily be honored.

The service was easy to setup and the technician came in fairly early within the schedule window which was nice. I give a 4 because the service price was higher than typical rates. I have a plumber that's terminally sick, so I needed to find someone with good reviews. Job took 15-20 minutes and this required an hour of work. The so called $20 discount from Angie's List is on the inflated price so the final payment was pretty much the normal rate. The tech was a good guy and helpful, but the price might not make me come back.

I thought I had a pipe leaking in a wall outside my kitchen. There was quite a bit of stucco damage that had been hidden behind a large shelf unit.

The plan was to come out and do a leak detection which is costly, but they would apply that charge to repair if they did the job. I think this meant putting a camera into wall to check what was leaking and how bad it was? Christian came out and spent a good amount of time, thoroughly checked for moisture inside and out, without opening wall and realized there is no moisture! After seeing the damage to stucco he thinks that rain is probably getting in through the bottom of our window. Well, the outcome was that they didn't charge me for the leak detection check, but only a nominal fee for coming out. Also, they honored the $20 coupon I had, even though I later realized that it was only supposed to apply to a bill over $100!! Looks like I have found a new trustworthy plumber for all our future needs! Now on to find someone to repair the window.

Do your research, it should be a crime for these guys to do work nearly double the price as other local AC shops charge. Was quoted 750.00$ for new fan motor. Tech told me part was 625.00$. So I checked local price for the fan motor guess what it cost 198.00$. !!!!!

Come on guys stop trying to rob your customers

With this California heat I was looking for a great AC service. My AC went out and called MClay services! They sent technician named steven which he showed up 15min prior to my set appointment! He found the problem quickly and fixed my AC with the price they had promised! Great customer service with Steven as a great technician and very satisfied customer! Will be calling them in the future!

We called McLays on Monday and told them our AC was out and not working correctly. They set our appointment for the next day early and we're here on time. Mike was our technician. Long story short I very highly recommend this company. Outstanding service and great pricing for the hard work they do.

Thank you Mclay services Inc for coming out so quickly to service and repair my Air Conditioning. I spoke to Nelly and she set up my appointment. My Repair technician Steven came out to do a diagnosis and quickly found the problem. We changed out our thermostat upstairs and downstairs and checked everything else out. And now we have nice Cool Air Conditioning once again. Thank you so much to Mclay's team for resolving the problem. Steve showed up at our house for a small problem with our AC unit. He walked on our clean light colored carpet with his filthy boots in our hallway. When he left there was dirt all over our carpet.He also had really dirty hands and left our thermostat filthy with dirty marks all over it.
He was 15 minutes minutes late and didn't call to let us know. He asked about a dozen times if it was only AC that we had a problem with. I said yes about a dozen times!
He didn't find anything wrong but charged us 125.00 for a service call! The receptionist told us it would be 99.50 if there was no work done!
He told my husband it was more because he looked at some wires. He NEVER did a thing to anything!
We found this company on Angie's list.
What a waste of time and money!
