Called on Friday but as the plumber was in another room (or something), the phone operator told me she would call me back ""momentarily"" to schedule the appointment for the plumber to come out. Didn't call back until Tuesday, when we arranged an appointment on Wednesday morning at 8am. Plumber (Dan) didn't show up. Total waste of my time. Could have at least called me to let me know that they can't be bothered so I didn't have to sit around and wait.
Kerry H.HORRIBLE! Worst experience with a plumber. The kid not know what he was doing and spent hours trying to bleed pipes. He went outside every ten minutes to smoke. They sent out someone else to fix it and he broke my boiler! They charged me to Fix it and pay for the part!!!! I tried to be fair and pay and fair price for their time but the COMPANY OWNER ENDED UP BULL ING ME on the phone to write a check for more. Absolutely worst experience! !
Let me tell you about my experience with Dan Maybruck. My call started about 3 weeks ago when the nights were still cold and my 85 yr old mother had no heat. The only reason why I called him was because he was local and I figured he wouldn't burn anybody in his own yard. Well I was wrong. They were quick to go out to the house but they sent someone who didn't know what they were doing, first excuse. Then they were waiting for a part to come in. Then I called and the office thought it was fixed. I told them NO! My 87 year old father was coming home from the hospital who is bed ridden, Afib heart condition, and a tube coming out of his lungs to drain fluid.. Soooo then they said they would send someone out who knew what they were doing. Funny people. Nope, still wasn't fixed. They told me it was fixed but they lied, flat out lied. After 3 weeks of waiting, time for a/c. Try to turn that on, nope, that didn't work. I called the office told them of my fathers condition and it was a hot muggy day and they would have Dan himself come out to look at it. And he did. I was in my fathers bedroom helping the aid hoyer lift him out of the bed and he looks and tells my mother I will have someone come out tomorrow. This is something they started 3 weeks ago and he could look at this 85 yr old lady and tell her you have to wait another day? I called the office again hoping to catch him to convince him that they can't wait for a/c. My father was feeling sick from the humid that day. The office said the would page him to call me and he never did. So I called about 8 times that night to get the heartless bastard to call me and he never did. Next day his office called and said Dan said to find an electrician to fix the problem he was to busy with bigger jobs. If he was to busy with bigger jobs then he shouldn't of taken the job on. My father is a sick man and Dan is a heartless bastard. He did say he didn't charge my poor parents for anything. Well gee, I wonder why. Maybe because you did nothing. And now I find out that you wired everything wrong. The thermostat was wired wrong, and the evap coil was installed on the wrong side of the furnace. Took 1 phone call to another company and they were out next day fixing there shit up. My father could of ended up back in the hospital because of Dan Maybruck. I think he forgets that the little people put his cocky ass where it is today. Word of mouth means a lot and I have a big one and I'm spreading the word!
Maybruck was recommended to me from my neighbor, first time customer and i have nothing but good things to say. I had no heat and Maybruck sent someone out within a few hours, the office staff was very accommodating. I've used other plumbing companies but i've never received the service that i got from Maybruck.
Would highly recommend!
As to some of the negative reviews, i find it appalling that a grown adult would actually leave a review with that type of language, shame on you. Based on the tone of Dave P's review sounds like maybe you were the problem?
Laura K.Dan Maybruck was recommended by my property manager - and despite the terrible reviews online, I scheduled an appointment for service on a leaking HVAC drain. I had hoped my PM had better insight. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
Granted, they were able to quickly schedule an appointment and the tech arrived early for the appointment - he quickly (i.e. haphazardly) diagnosed the problem as a faulty part, which he returned later to replace for $149 service charge. And when the leak continued that evening and was worse the following day, I called to inquire about the charge for service that clearly did not fix the problem.
The response - ""That's just the way things are"" And it ""sounds like a cracked condenser. We'll need to send another tech.""
I reluctantly scheduled another service call - but I was already $149 in and thought I might have a little leverage on the second service call. I waited all day on the day of the appointment and they never showed up.
I then did what I should have done in the first place - I made an appointment with a trust worthy and reliable HVAC vendor - ACT in Holbrook. I've been working with them for years for a property in Quincy, but didn't think they would travel to Plymouth. The travel cost is well worth the quality of service that I received.
The actual problem was a simple clogged drain pipe, which was quickly resolved. Unfortunately, the tech from Dan Maybruck never took the time to actually open the HVAC system or inspect the lines.
I would give Dan Maybruck zero stars if I could. Save yourself the time, money and aggravation.
If you are in Plymouth, go to McKay plumbing! I am somewhat new to the Plymouth area and live right around the corner from Maybruck's office. I had a leak over night of nearly 3 gallons in 10 hours. I called the office to request a plumber come out on a Monday. The woman that answered the phones indicated that several of the men had called in sick but she would call me back to see if she could get someone out in the afternoon. After 4 hours of now phone call, I called back. A different woman answered the phone, and when I told her I was following up, she said the first woman was at lunch and she couldnt help me (not sure why she even answered the phone then). I left a message for the other woman to call me back to get someone out. I NEVER received a call back. I guess business is so good, they dont need an easy job around the corner. I have had them out in the past and knew their prices are notoriously high, but I didnt know any others. A simple search yielded McKay plumbing. The woman that answered was very accomodating, sent out a great plumber who was professional, did the job quickly and even voluteered to look at another potential issue for free. Stay away from MayBruck, if you couldnt already tell from the other posts. Its unanimous.
Steve H.I have used them for basic plumbing work. Outdoor faucet replacement, heater element and extending an interior gas line. Nothing substantial. The standard fee of about $130 is annoying and I've never figured out if it's part of my bill or credited.
No issues with the quality of work although they did once recommend a part I didn't need. Turns out the cable guy had shut the burner fan off, it didn't need $200 worth of work.
Advice based on the other reviews is get the scope of work in writing like all other contracts. I would use them again if I had to but would we other bids.
just tore into my dining room ceiling to find the plumbing (as predicted) done completely wrong and against state code. called the office to discover that even the staff is so rude and unhelpful. they were totally shocked that my plumbing (11 yrs old) should last this long, wondering how i could be calling about plumbing that is so old (i happen to have friends with homes from the 1600's and older without leaking pipes but this is back when people actually cared about and took pride in the job they did) and it does not matter to them that it was done wrong to begin with...all they want to do is cheat the public to make money, take no responsibility for their incorrect work no matter what the cost to the homeowner. completely incompetent, unethical, rude, unhelpful individuals who have zero understanding of why someone might be upset that their piss poor job has ruined your house and cost you thousands of dollars....if it was their house i am sure they would be up in arms! another sloppy job done by another dishonest greedy contractor. where are the decent honest people in this country???????dont look here, that is for sure.....
********in response the dan maybrucks claim, he did not offer to come and diagnose the problem for $129. furthermore, if he knew one thing about the automotive industry as he was using as an example, a car made incorrectly would be part of something called a recall dan which is when they take the car back and correct what was manufactured incorrectly free of charge. this is basic common knowledge. when you plumb something completely incorrectly you certainly should come back and fix it to make it up to something called the ""building code"", i am sure you have not heard of that either!!!!!!!
Awful - and its my own fault for not paying attention to the negative reviews and just going with someone who picked up the phone. The tub drain that was replaced has leaked ever since. They subcontracted out a kitchen remodel to morons who drilled screws up through the cabinets and through the countertop and ruined it, then spilled glue on our hardwoods and tried to sand it off which ruined the hardwood floor. One word - AVOID
Joe I.We had new counter tops installed. We needed the lines, drain and disposal connected. Nothing special ...
Used Maybruck in the past. They did good work, a little pricey - support the local business...
Plumber came a little late, polite, did his work in an hour - nice job thus far
Hands me a bill for $258 for two hours work (did I mention he was there an hour). I questioned it and he said he had to get materials specific for the job and that was the reason for the second hour.
The materials were two 12"" reinforced lines, several inches of PVC and some PVC cement.
Plumber told me he didn't charge me for the materials (which at Home Depot would have cost $20). I assumed that professional plumbers would have these materials in their trucks or shop for a lot less than what I would have to pay at Home Depot.
I wrote the check, sent the plumber on his way, and called his shop. Service Manager came on - polite. Reinforced the story the plumber told to me (because he said it was he who gave it to the plumber - which just means it wasn't true). He went on about a lot of cost of business and overhead numbers and how I was given a DISCOUNT. I restated my point of view and told him I understood his need to make money, but that this was excessive.
I was offered a 5% discount ($12.50). This was it for a repeat pissed off customer.
Charging me for these incidental materials is like your accountant charging you for the paper and pencil he used to do your taxes.
Talk about missing the moment to make something right. I wasn't looking for something free, but I did expect a whole lot more than a lot of gibberish and $12.50.
After telling him I no longer wanted a discount (now I was pissed and what I truly wanted at this point was some sort of an apology). I told him I was still very upset and that at any chance I could warn others of this poor pricing and handling, I would.
Here I am today - thank you to YELP. I will find another plumber than to continue with my stupid ways of repeat business for a company that just seems to want to jack the price wherever they can.
