I'd give them zero stars if I could. Our coil needed to be replaced on our home AC unit. Our home warranty covered the cost of the coil and they contracted May Heating and Air to make the repair. They came out but also informed us we had to get other services as well to """"bring things up to code."""" Our home is only 7-8 years old. This was an obvious up-sell so they could make more money. If we did not agree to get the extra services, they told us they would not touch the job. If that sounds sketchy, it's because it is. They also overcharged on their freon and all those up-sell parts. We would have just gone with our AC people, but the coil was not under factory warranty anymore...and May Heating and Air knew this and took advantage of us. They apparently do this to A LOT of customers. After back and forth for a couple of weeks, they finally penciled us in their busy schedule of screwing people over. Once the """"repair"""" was made, we were blind sided with extra fees. We were told they dont accept personal checks, so I used my debit card...but there will be a 3% processing fee. Whatever. They could have let us know of their personal """"repair"""" fee and the fact they dont accept personal checks up front so we had the time to get a cashiers check. The """"repair"""" they made was okay for a couple of days, but we left town for the weekend and when we returned...the AC was not working. We called them (their office was closed so I got the voicemail box that conveniently wasnt accepting voicemails.) I also emailed May Heating and Air that following day (Monday) and they made no attempt to contact me. The customer service up to this point was so bad. At this point, we were furious so we called our AC people to come take a look. Come to find out, they installed the coil INCORRECTLY! We had our AC people repair their mistake. May Heating and Air was not stepping foot in our home again. May Heating and Air charged us over $1100 to """"repair"""" our coil (and all those up-sells and overcharges) and have now refused to reimburse us the additional $700 we spent to have their mistake fixed. We provided invoices of all costs and actions that were taken by our AC people to fix their mistake, and they still flat out refused. Their reasoning? """"We do not feel that there were any incorrect installation procedures performed."""" Once our AC people came out to fix their mistake, it's been working fine since. Go figure! We are now in the process of trying to get our home warranty people to reimburse us. Dont use this company, the customer service is and so are their """"repairs."""" Dont say I didnt warn you.

BEWARE. I just bought my 17 year old home this past December. Fast forward to now May 2021 the air conditioner stops cooling. I have a licensed HVAC Person come to service it and he comes back inside and tells me that there is a lock on the hole\opening where the Freon goes in. I then contacted the previous owner only to be told that they didn't know anything about the lock, that they used May heating and air to service it in the past. He said to me whatever you do don't use this company because they are a joke, they had a lot of bad experiences with them. I proceed to contact this company by looking the name up via google, only to accidentally get a company that's located in Philadelphia with the same name. When I said I was calling from Georgia the owner automatically knew I was calling with something negative because apparently they get a lot of calls from people with complaints thinking that it's their company. I explained to him what happened and he said that was bad, bad business but he's not surprised. He felt like they probably did it to keep other businesses from servicing the air conditioner. I went back online and found the correct number, called and got a receptionist that seem to be familiar with the Lock process and said that she just needed to find out who could come out and remove it. That was yesterday, stated she would call me back. No call of course. I called back this morning only to be put on hold for about 30 minutes before the person came back and told me that they could come and remove the lock but it would be a service charge. I then asked why would they put the lock on my unit? She told me that it was an EPA law. No one seems to sell a key for this lock and I refuse to pay crooks to come back and remove something that they illegally placed on my unit. I would buy a whole new air-conditioning system before I did that.

Recently bought a house and the AC went out. It was covered under my home warranty and May Heating and Air was contracted to evaluate and fix the problem. They showed up for the inspection on a timely manner and found the problem. However, it has now been 2 weeks and they have not communicated with my warranty company so that the problem can get fixed. I have called them almost every day and after waiting 15 minutes each time for someone to answer I get told that they will get to it later that day which they have yet to do. I have also been on a joint call with the warranty company when they have attempted to call May Heating and Air but they don't answer. 2 weeks in GA/SC without AC. May Heating and Air is a pathetic company

The experience I had with May Heating and Air was out right awful!!! I wouldn't advise anyone to use this Company for service. I was connected to them via my Home Warranty Company. It was a pain just to confirm the appointment. The ladies at the office that worked to resolve the issues were cordial and understanding. They did try to deliver better service. I must say that for them. I don't like writing bad reviews and I truly don't like the fact I must write this for the ladies sake. But there are people that feel they can treat certain people any kind of way. Because, most of the time we just deal with it and don't write anything. So, now about my experience. 1.) I had two no shows: They sent me a message to confirm the appointment and both times I confirmed the appointment, the technician didn't show up. There was no follow up call so I called the company to find out why the technician is not showing up. Turns out there was confusion over the technician trying to call me the day and time of a confirmed appointment from an unidentified number. I worked it out with the ladies at the office that since this is their policy, then have the technician text or email me first, so that I wouldn't have to answer every SPAM caller that day, just to try to catch a call, while I'm working and attending a crazy number of meetings, just to confirm for the second time and already confirmed and scheduled appointment from an unidentified caller. I explained a text or email would allow me to learn the number of the person/technician that will be coming out and I would thereby expect a call from that number. The ladies were cordial, understanding, and reasonable and agreed given the fact they had all my information (phone number, email address, ..etc). So, I thought that was resolved...read on.... 2.) The third attempt to have a technician come out they rescheduled me. They said it was due to a temperature drop and they would not be adding coolant that day. Now remember: we don't know what the problem is with my units. No one has been out to my house yet. 3.) Finally, after three tries, the technicians came out to troubleshoot. The guy Gene rips open my furnace and leaves stating I would get a message later with their diagnosis and cost. The guy doesn't know whether I would be ready to move forward with whatever they would be recommending since he wouldn't tell me at the time what he found and an estimate of the job cost. They didn't check my other unit while they were out because they said it wasn't on the work order. That was the fault of my Home warranty Company so I scheduled them to come back out to trouble shoot that one as well. 4.) I received a text message to confirm the appointment to trouble shoot the other unit and confirmed it for 4-15-21 for following week. 4-16-21, they scheduled to install the coil for the first unit. Again, NO SHOW. I texted the company to enquire about the whereabouts of the technician that was scheduled. The office returned text stating the appointment is still scheduled but the technician is running late. He NEVER SHOWED UP. The next day, during a phone call, they stated the technician called me, although late and outside of the appointment window but left a message. REPEATING CONFUSION THST WAS SUPPOSEDLY RESOLVED IN 1.) 5.) The next Day Friday, they show up to fix the first unit. When asked if they would be trouble shooting the second unit, the technician hadn't ANY knowledge of a request to trouble shoot second unit. Also, he DEMANDS I give him FULL PAYMENT UP FRONT without turning the first screw. 6.) I called the office and they apologize for not making it clear that they expect full payment up front before starting the job. So, we synced on the payment and reschedule for the following day to do the job on the first unit and trouble shoot the second. 7.) That next day in the morning, I get a call from Gene stating it will be a $75 ADDITIONAL CHARGE to come back out. That was the retaliatory FEE. That was the last straw. I told him I didn't need their service. BEWARE!!

This company sent out four technicians for four appointments and still didn't complete the repair needed. They notified me a technician was COVID positive then sent him back 3 days later. When I attempted to hold them accountable and confirm this most recent repair would fix the issue prior to paying $600, they refused to complete the repair and sent my order back to the home warranty company. This is after 6 weeks of no heat, including spending Thanksgiving with three heaters on. The entire team is incompetent and the office staff puts inaccurate information in the notes and then tells you sarcastically to """"have a blessed day."""" If I could give zero stars, I would. Family owned company with poor customer service in the field and with dispatch.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! I DID NOT HAVE A CHOICE BECAUSE OF MY HOME INSURANCE!! If a company does a good, I leave 5 stars, and if a company does an awful job I leave 1 star. American Home Shield sent May Heating and Air out to stop a leak from my unit in the attic on the nook side of the kitchen. When the tech """"Josh"""" came out of the attic """"fixing the problem"""" water began pouring from the light fixture and vent on the other side of the kitchen. Water was NOT coming from that part of the kitchen before he went into the attic and used my personal vacuum cleaner to clean up the mess. He stated that the company does NOT supply them with a wet-vac. He stated that it had to drain through the light and there was nothing he could do. The light started hanging from the ceiling, I showed it to Josh but he said that there was nothing he could do. I called them out again because Josh told me to. The company sent out Chris. Chris into the attic came down and shut his head. He went back up in the attic and came back down again and said that the light was nowhere near the air conditioner unit and wanted to know how water got into the light. I told him that I did not know and it happened when Josh came to fix it. He said that water should have never come from that side because the unit was on the other side of the kitchen. Chris said to me that he felt like it was their (May) fault because water should have not come from over there and he would take pictures and send it to his supervisor to have the light replaced and someone will reach out to me. Well, I called Josh and he got an attitude and said Chris was new and should not have said that he caused the problem. I reminded him that water came from the other side of the kitchen. Josh had the nerve to write false information in his report. it has been about 3 weeks and no one has reached out. I called on 12/2/2020 and the woman said Josh wrote things in his report that were not true! trying to cover his tail!! They are training Chris to be a scumbag like they are! May will NOT get away with breaking my light fixture! I will no longer allow any to come into my home and destroy and it and not pay for it!! THERE'S ONE THING I KNOW IS TRUE. GOD DOES NOT LIKE UGLY AND YOU WILL GET YOURS JOSH AND MAY!!!

I believe this is the first one-star review I have ever written on this site. This company has technicians who are either incredibly incompetent or complete cons--I am leaning toward con men. I was assigned them through American Home Shield and my experience was so horrible I am strongly leaning toward dropping American Home Shield altogether. My furnace was short cycling right at the time of year it was starting to get cold. One of the techs was wearing a mask that made a political statement on it, so I was feeling uneasy about them the moment they walked in the door. The experience went downhill from there. The service techs looked at the furnace and diagnosed the problem as a bad control board. They said they would call back when they got the part in. I waited a week for the call back and was livid when I checked the status of the order with AHS and found that May Heating had closed out the work order. AHS called May Heating while on the phone with me, who told them they had ordered the part and it would be in the following week. Waited ANOTHER week only to get notified by AHS that they were denying the claim. May Heating had claimed the control board issue was caused by a leaking pipe and therefore AHS wouldn't cover it. I then paid another copay to the warranty company to have a plumber sent out to fix the alleged leak. Turns out the leak was not coming from a pipe but the furnace itself. The PLUMBER was easily able to diagnose the problem as a backed up condenser line. When I was showed the pics, the issue was clear as day and there was no way anyone could have messed that up, even someone with no knowledge of HVAC systems. I suspect May Heating was either scamming the warranty company or for whatever reason was deliberately trying to cause us inconvenience due to their political stances. AHS sent out another HVAC tech who diagnosed and fixed the HVAC in under 30 minutes. Because of May Heating my family was without heat for nearly three weeks and I had to pay an extra $75 deductible, which AHS is in the process of refunding. If you have a choice, I would not let this contractor set foot on my property.

If I can put in no stars, I would; they are very unprofessional. I originally had AHS (American Home Sheild) assign the work order to this company in August of 2020. Today, as of November 3, 2020, I still have not received a call, email, or letter letting me know if I needed to pay out of pocket. The lady on the phone with May Heating and Air was telling me not to get upset. Wow, if you had to wait for three months to get your ac fix. You would understand why I'm upset and yelling. So I have to be sweet and dandy on the phone for their mistake for real. Originally the Tech was either fired or left the company and did not tell them that I needed apart. So May heating and Air sent out another tech. That Tech again went on vacation and did not tell them also. So when I called May Heating and Air. They had to send out another tech. Today I just found out I had to pay 686.00 for the refrigerant.

Can you believe that a company REFUSED our business because the OWNER decided to be childish and petty?? Well that's exactly what happened today. Instead of calling us to get the specifics of the situation- a situation that involved us paying them $1400 for a service- the OWNER says, through the dispatch, that """"he will not work with us because he feels we went behind his back"""". All because we were trying to cover all of our basis and get as much information as possible from our warranty company, before moving forward with a decision. They must have business galore in the middle of a pandemic to be able to operate in such a disgustingly petty fashion. Do not go to them if you are looking for a company run by adults and not one OWNED by a person who has the childish temperament of a 5yr old- perceived insult and all. OWNER, have the balls to get on the phone and tell it DIRECTLY to the customer the next time you decide to have a colossal hissy fit.
